So, I wish I didn't sleep on this review for so long because this place is AMAZING. The Mix Salon has the most friendly and beautiful employees ever, Leticia, Gema, and Elsa. I discovered them through their Instagram work on brides. They had a monthly special for balayage/ombre styles, so I went there to have my ombre corrected. My hair before Mix was so brassy, and the ombre wasn't blended as well as it could have been. The great thing about the Mix Salon is that all the employees are trained in Jay Rua's ombre technique. These women are always on top of their trends, and I believe they go to different hair shows to learn new techniques and to stay on top of their hair game. Their salon is small with a total of 4 employees: 3 stylists and 1 assistant. I feel that it was great though because it really feels like visiting a happy family. They also all work as a team, always asking each other for advice for the technique or method used on hair. Gema was my primary stylist for the visit, and Elsa worked as her back up for a portion of the time. They mainly worked as a team when applying the bleach to my hair. This made my hair evenly process, so I did not have any random spots where the front was lighter or dark than the back. Overall, I'm very happy with my hair, and I've been dying to go back. I just need to find the time and save up the money. It is such a cute and comfortable place. It definitely worth giving Mix Salon a visit. read more

Leticia is so incredible. My wedding party and I had the privilege of having her and her team do our hair. Our hair turned out AMAZING!! They are the best!! Also, I have only colored my hair once (back in college) and it was an awful experience. I was so nervous to ever try again, but I trusted Leticia to color my hair for my wedding and it turned out INCREDIBLE!!! I am so thankful for her. I highly recommend this salon. I had virgin dark brown hair for 22 years and was extremely scared of going to get my hair dyed. I researched places for months until I finally decided on Mix salon and touch up bar. Aside from the amazing service provided, they went above and beyond to achieve my desired look. I can't stress how much I love my hair. These girls really know what they are doing and it's the technique which really sets them apart from other salons. Letty and Elsa were able to achieve a blended, seamless ash/golden blonde balayage hair. If you are looking for that hairstyle that will take your look to the next level you will not regret going to this place! Worth every penny (they don't over change, price is very reasonable). This review is long overdue. I feel so lucky that the salon fairies brought me Leticia. It's been over 25 years and just when I think she's mastered her craft, she takes it up a notch. She's a jack of all trades( cut,color,brows,makeup ) and a master of all! She's done some miraculous work on my thick coarse hair. So much so, I live in So Cal and will still drive 4 hrs to get my hair done with her. I trust her fully. When you have no idea what to do with your hair, shes got 3 options in mind. Her prices are a steal, I've been to salons that do 1/4 of what she does for triple the price. Hands down she's consistent, professional I can go on. I'm not always one to review, however, I'm so satisfied with finding this salon that I want to share it with all. First of all, I've been searching for a new hairdresser/salon for a long time! I'm not from Bakersfield (been here 10 years) and I still haven't found someone that I felt did a great job or most importantly listened to my desires/concerns. My hair has been through hell and in horrible condition and a lot of stylist I've tried made me feel like they cared about my concerns but just added more salt to the wound by adding more bleach and masking the damage with more extensions instead of finding a solution to the problem! After a lot of research I found this salon and I instantly liked the products they used and the results from their social media pics. Take a peek at their IG and FB...they do gorgeous work! I got in with Gema who was so nice and understood what I wanted and I met Leticia who also listed AND CARED about what I desired. They didn't try and "sell me" to benefit them, they genuinely told me what can help me as the client and gave me very realistic expectations. This is the first time I haven't had my extensions in in a long time, I had to take them out myself during quarantine. I thought taking a break would help my hair but I'm pretty sure I'm going to trust Leticia to do the new NBR's because her results are amazing and I can't stop thinking about them! I purchased clip ins to get me by but I'm horrible at putting them in haha. The salon is adorable and relaxing, I highly recommend anyone give it a try.
