My daughter needed to get her highlights touched up so decided to give this place a try. I had never been here and didn't even realize it was a salon tucked away in the cut. It's such a cute salon when you get inside and I love the hat bar so much! I wish I actually worse hats to partake in the different options available. They even offered treats and water while you waited in their cute waiting area with the most gorgeous couch ever! Syd was such a treat and treated my daughter so well that all she spoke about for days was "the lady at the cute salon!" Not sure how to rate a hair salon on here since you see your own stylist. Which mine rocked and you really want them to make a living but then I'm afraid she'll get too busy and I'll never get in. But her name is Camryon. She does amazing haircuts and color. She makes me laugh the whole time she is doing hair and we are always chatting about something. I had the appt at 11am with Bianca since the beginning i felt uncomfortable cause she had no idea of what i was talking about. Shes a very sweet girl and smiles but her work ethics are not good at. Her items constantly were falling off from her tray . Things would slip from her hands. It took her from 11:30 am - 3:50pm that she was done. I did all highlights. When washing my hair water was splaterring all over my face and water was just running inside my blouse to my back when done washing she didnt put a towel around my hair she just let my hair all soaked with water since i was so damn frustrated i told her to just leave it alone i dont want a haircut nothing I just wanted to disappear and leave . I was so overwhelmed with anxiety. I'll never be coming here no more ever. It's so noisy people talking and talking and laughing. Ran so fast out of there. Once I got home I had to throw away my shirt due to the bleach and color that was used and smeared on the back of my shirt while she was washing the hair. Bad experience read more

I recently redirected my salon visits from Ming Avenue to Xscape to follow my favorite hairdressing tag team, Cindy and Ann. Since the last place that they were at was in a seedy part of town anymore and their personal safety became an issue, they made the decision to base themselves in the Northwest part of town, which was a welcome change for us all. It is actually less of a commute for me and the facility is terrific. The salon itself is located in a newer strip mall, but is the first visible store from the street. You can't miss it. The "mall" looks a little misplaced since it's one of those that was plopped in the middle of the oilfields along with all the other growing businesses on Meany Avenue. Inside, it's very nicely decorated and they sell a variety of reputable Hair Care brands, fashion accessories and a few racks of clothing. The Nail section is located to the right of the entrance and the massage/aesthetician area to the left. The entire rest of the floor is devoted to the hairstylists' booths. At first, I found the floor set-up to be a little crunched in zig-zag arranged spinning chairs, but I quickly got used to it. Everything is very clean and new, quite different from their last salon. They offer a nice array of iced or hot beverages and biscotti as well. :-) in the back of the salon, they have a secluded shampoo area and there are spa pedicure/massage chairs. Very nice. I'm very happy to be a client there and proud to tell people where I get my hair done when they ask. My hairdresser, Cindy has been doing my hair for about 17-18 years (she's only a year or so older than me!) and she always gives me what I want. If I think she could shape it more on this side, or thin it out over yonder, I can always tell her and she is always capable of doing whatever I ask. Her best friend and colleague Ann is similarly very skilled and works with me in the same way when Cindy is unavailable to always ensure I leave there happy! read more

I received one of my worst cuts here. This is not a reflection of the salon itself as all the stylists work for themselves (they rent their stations). I might return to this salon but, I'll avoid a certain stylist at all costs. I came here on a whim on Monday evening because my normal stylist at another salon doesn't work Mondays. This stylist rushed me and I felt like she wasn't listening to anything I was asking for. I asked for three things which I thought were pretty simple: 1. Trim an inch overall with a rounded back with about half inch layers. I don't like to wear my hair at one length. 2. Layers framing the front of my face starting at my cheeks. 3. Side swept bangs, with a tapered end. Keep in mind - I was showing her how I wanted my hair by pulling strands and showing her the lengths and the direction I liked my hair to move. Apparently, she didn't care about what I said. She shampooed my hair and proceeded to cut. The first sign of trouble is that she started cutting without separating my hair in sections. I saw chunks of my hair on the floor so I knew my subtle layers weren't going to happen. She seem confused when I asked for layers framing my face and ended up trimming the front, not layering. I asked her to taper my bangs and again, she didn't get it. She bluntly lopped off my bangs and kept asking if it was good enough. I was mortified and I decided to shut my mouth so she would stop cutting. I needed to save some hair so my normal stylist can fix it! I thought it would look better dry but, she got peeved at me when I asked her to flat iron my hair with the ends curled in. At the end, it didn't look like anything that I asked for. When I got home and inspected my hair, it was lopped off in uneven sections. Needless to say, I won't be scheduling a return visit with this stylist...ever. read more

This post is Mostly for Carleen. I have been following Carleen around wherever she goes because I trust my hair with no one else. Over the years she has seemlessly taken my hair from red to blond, bold to subtle or whatever I want depending on the mood I'm in. She has also given me a lot of advice for keeping my hair looking amazing in between visits. Last I went there I was telling her about a party I was having and I wanted a cute gel mani, she recommended me to Mary who got my nails to look exactly like the cake I ordered for the party. Both of these ladies had great prices and are super fun to talk to while there. The salon itself is very nice. Lots of products and services to chose from and although it's always filled it's never hectic or loud. read more

I was referred to Rosa, she was highly recommended by a close friend, however i had the worse experience there and I would not recommend her service to anyone. She was not friendly at all, i went with my mom and sister and neither one of us liked the result. She was shown pictures beforehand but the end result was ugly, I could have done them better myself. The nails were thick, they had bumps. Very uneven, she could not do any designs, not even the simplest one. The nail color was see through, and at the end she was rushing because she had to be somewhere at 3pm... but we were there since 11:30 am. You would think that for $50 per set she would at least put effort in her work... will never return or refer anyone to her. read more

I was given a package for christmas to go here for a couple of different "mini sessions" (30 min massage, mini facial, manicure, etc) I called to make my appointment and was informed that there are all kinds of restrictions on when/how you can use the services. I was a little annoyed, but I made an appointment for a massage and one for a faical (on two different days because you can't do them both on the same visit) The massage was great! I booked the facial and I was supposed to go in after work at 530. I called at 5 to let them know that I had some last-minute patients and that I would be about 10 minutes late. She told me that since they were booked back to back that I wouldn't be able to come in late, and my appt would be cancelled. I understand a schedule so I said ok, I would just reschedule. She said I couldn't reschedule and that my services were now null and void because I didn't call 24 hours in advance! Had I known that I would be 10 minutes late the day before I guess I could have called?? I am irate and I feel like the package we bought was a total waste of money. I got my pedi from Nicole who also took the time to work on my "problem area" of my feet. I'm loving the end result. I got a gift Certificate for a package as a gift. The girls that did my package were all snotty. The hair girl was the worst. Not the best I've seen for sure. The salon is nice but the ladies are snarky and snappy. I wouldn't go back. Not even to follow someone that's not like that. There's more negative than positive in there. The prices aren't cheap either. You'd think that if people pay that much they'd have a better attitude. The younger girls are extremely rude, the older ones are snotty. I scheduled an appointment with Robin to get my hair permed and the entire experience was awful. My appointment was set for 11:30 so I arrived 5 minutes early so as not to be late and had to wait 45 minutes while she did another clients hair. Robin had me wait at another stylists chair where I had to watch her start and finish another customers hair during my appointment time. Once she was finally through she came over to me and told me she couldn't make my hair curly with a perm as perms don't work like that (her words not mine). She then showed me some pictures of what the perm she was planning to do would look like and the pictures looked nice so I went ahead and got the perm. Immediately after my hair looked like the images I'd been shown but about a day afterwards all semblance of wave/curl had left my hair and my head was a frizzy mess. I texted her and let her know what had happened and scheduled another appointment for her to look at my hair. Upon arriving she saw the state my hair was in and decided to wash it then proceeded to dry it with a blow dryer while fluffing it all the while. The result was a giant frizzy mess that looked even worse than it did when I walked in. The point of a perm is to be able to wash your hair and put a bit of product in it and be good to go, not for you to have to blow dry and fluff it for an hour. If I wanted to spend a large amount of time doing my hair I'd just go ahead and curl it. I requested that she refund me a portion of my payment and just keep the tip I gave her and enough to cover the cost of supplies but she wouldn't even consider it. I then asked for the number of the salon owner and she told me they didn't have any sort of contact information. Robin then went on to say she could get in contact with them and let me know what they say. I told her no and that I'd figure it out so I went to the front desk and got a business card with the owners info on it and promptly emailed them. They never replied to me and probably didn't even bother to have a word with her either. read more

I came here after receiving one of the worst haircuts ever from a different salon in town. I read great reviews about this place and was hoping the stylist I was given could fix up my cut enough to where it was workable until it grows out...oh my. My cut turned out WAY WORSE!! Totally uneven and super choppy. I look like I have two completely differnt haircuts from the front to the back. It's embarrassing! The color turned out a pretty color but there were some areas in the front where the bleach bled out and left some annoying striping that shows when I wear my hair in a straight back pony tail. I am sure not all stylists are like this and maybe she was having a bad day but I can't believe I paid as much as I did for what I walked out with. Looks like I will be wearing my hair back in some way, shape or form for the next 6 months to a year until it grows out. So sad and very disappointing. read more
