Two, if you sit along the left wall (Orchestra), there is an alcove of sorts closer to the front of the stage. There is a TV in there (WHY, I don't know!), that is left on during performances. If you're in seats along the wall, you 'will' be distracted from the glare of the television light (as I recently was back in Row N!). Lastly, lobby bar prices are INSANE: $38 for a single serving CAN of wine and a single serve bottle of Prosecco. We had just come from a very nice restaurant and paid well less than that for quality!

I fell in love with the historic Capital Theatre the minute I walked in. Just a spectacular old building. While the show we saw, I won't say who, wasn't the greatest concert in the world the sound production and sight lines made for a really pleasant concert experience. Oh, and I should mention that the parking was a piece of cake. The reason this venue only gets three stars is simple: the bartenders were massively over serving. This was by far the drunkest crowd of concert-goers I've ever been in. It was literally unsafe. The venue gets props for having gender neutral bathrooms...they just don't have enough of them. The lines were nuts and for this show there were booze-fueled fights happening while you were waiting to take a leak. All in all, not a great vibe.

A friend was in "Guys and Dolls" so we got a…read moregroup of people to see the show and I was impressed by the theater, the staff, the performers and the production values. The theater itself is intimate but I loved that the seats had actual leg room, much more than in some Broadway theaters. It was efficient to get in and out of the theater itself as well as the parking lot. Everything was well run and very organized. There was a line for concessions at intermission but the folks running the stand had things moving right along. Again, the staging, lights, music were all top notch. The production professionals do a great job. Additionally, the cast was amazing. Reading the bios, it's not surprising some of them had performed on larger stages. This is a real gem in the community.

That's because the Curtain Call Theater Complex lies within the golf course. Curtain Call has two indoor theaters and an annual free 'Shakespeare on the Green' summer program. They entertain over 30,000 theater lovers every year. I attended last night's 7:30 performance of The Taming of the Shrew. The gate opened at 6:00, and yes, admission is free, but $20 donations ($10 for seniors) are suggested. After I checked in, I was escorted to the lawn seating in front of the stage. There are a few seating options. If you wanted primo seats, you could bring a blanket or "low chair" right up to the front of the stage. If you want to sit in the next tier of close proximity to the stage in a traditional height lawn chair (behind the blanket crowd), you can reserve a spot for $28, and they'll put a big sign on the lawn with your name on it. If you don't choose to have your spot reserved, you'll set up your chair right behind the reserveds. I didn't reserve and ended up with a great location -center stage in the third row of chairs. I saw a lot of patrons with some pretty fancy food spreads -salads and charcuterie and sandwiches, etc. BYOB is NOT allowed. If you want a freshly made burger or hot dog, a short walk to The Stillery restaurant will get the job done. The Taming of the Shrew is a Shakespeare comedy about courtship, gender roles, and marriage. Curtin Call is a non-profit theater with volunteer actors and staff. The Taming of the Shrew's cast was phenomenal, they all had strong voices and commanding stage presence. In my untrained opinion, I thought Miranda Falk in the role of Biondello stood out. Her comic touch, body language, and mastery of long rapid-fire monologues were outstanding. I thought she deserved a standing ovation after one of her very funny scenes. And in case you're thinking of checking out Curtain Call, you might be intrigued by a December offering called "The Three Scrooges". Imagine Charles Dickens meets Moe, Larry and Curly!!

The theater from top floor, to theater to bathrooms - impeccably clean. The snacks are snacking... The popcorn (butter, salt) is real popped right there. Wine, beer if that's your thing. There are almost no experiences like this left unfortunately. A gem in the heart of Stamford.

She told me I got too big of a violin but we can always rent one (which I thought was fair). She also started to show me how to put it together. Well the gentlemen in the back, forget it. He got all upset, came to me and said I should just go home. Im wasting my time there. Really attempting to belittle me. I dont care if this guy won awards or is the almighty violin king. He is rude, impatient, and will definitely get an award of "biggest j*****s" by me. Go check out the other two music schools who were friendly, forthcoming, and professional.

Additionally, the owner tried to tell me that I may not be "getting the real deal" from other shops. As a professional musician - I can tell the difference between real and fake strings. Shops in the area servicing real Stradivarius instruments are not selling fake strings. Reputable online retailers who serve professional musicians are also not selling fake strings. Additionally, the owner mentioned they provide a service of "installing" the string for you. As an educator, I can tell you that your teacher will do this for you. As a professional musician, I have no idea why this service would be offered to me - it is not common practice nor should it be. If the shop itself is indeed purchasing strings from the makers at double or triple the cost they can be found locally or online, I would have to question their ability to do business. As much as I would love to support a local business and a local music business, this predatory practice is unacceptable.
