Longtime customer, and my family has bought here for years. I brought in a necklace I purchased from them to get the clasp repaired. Three-figure quote, about a week. Fine, because I had a three-figure balance on their rewards card, earned on their own program, on their own purchases. I was told the rewards program no longer exists and my balance is gone. I had the original receipt in hand showing the balance, so this wasn't a memory issue. The associate had no answer, checked with a manager, and came back offering a $25 credit which is a small fraction of what I had earned. The only explanation I got was that the program "no longer served the business." Nothing I was ever given said those rewards could vanish. No notice went out. The value simply disappeared and the fix was to hand me a token amount and hope I'd take it. I left and I won't be back. If you're weighing a purchase here, know that the loyalty they ask for only runs one direction. read more

Best friend and I decided to get permanent jewelry. First time we walked in we're told we needed an appt because the jeweler isn't always in/available. Made appt and we're thrilled with our new jewelry, we even upgraded with gemstones. My best friend's bracelet broke the next day after waking up from a nap (she lives in a different state. The store did give her some resolutions and then offered to fix it when she comes back. My bracelet broke a few weeks after. I went to drop off my broken bracelet. They said come back on a specific day and everything is taken care of since it was within their policy timeline. I returned a day after they told me to return and the girl who helped me said it wasn't ready and that I shouldn't have come back unless I got a text/call (the other associate never mentioned a call/text). Because of my job, I'm crazy busy at work and with their store hours, I was finally able to pick up my bracelet about a month later. I still love my bracelet! We began coming here years ago when my man wanted to get a ring sized down for me. We've been using their services since then for stone replacement, sizing, engraving, appraisals, and cleanings. After your first visit your information is saved making it easier, faster, and more convenient to get what you need accomplished. For example I recently received a new eternity band for Christmas as an addition to my engagement ring and just needed a cleaning of the older ring so they matched in sparkles. We came in and everything was cleaned and inspected together within 5-10 mins. One of my stones was loose on my older ring so our sales associate Marina secured it in its setting before cleaning. Shopping for earrings for the lady, nice selection, great customer service. Lots of happy couples shopping for engagement rings, love must be in the air. On the way out asked if they did watch battery repair, and they do! I have two mid-tier watches a couple/few other local jewelers were unable to get the backs off of. Cyrus said he would forward the watches to his watchmaker to see what could be done. Cyrus contacted me immediately to advise of mechanical concerns that needed to be satisfied in order for proper operation. Cyrus kept in contact with me throughout the process, explained to me the issues at hand and the corrective actions needed. Cyrus returned my watches to me before he said they would be completed by. Day1 - I called about jewelry appraisals and was told 'first come first serve' - no need for an appointment. We arrived at their store (Day 2) and was told, 'nope - need an appointment' if I wanted to wait for my appraisal (I did not want to leave my jewelry with them for a few days while it was appraised), but he could not schedule my appointment with me for the next day while I was in the store - I had to call the next day for a same day appointment (made absolutely no sense why he could not schedule me for the next day). Day 3 - I call to make a same day appointment so I could wait while my jewelry was being appraised and was told I could not wait during the appraisal - I HAD to leave my items with them. 3 days, 3 different employees, 3 different answers about how their appraisal process works. We had a very disappointing experience the first time we went to pick out a wedding band for my engagement ring that my husband bought there. We almost didn't go back. Thanks to Valerie, she really turned our experiences around for the better once we were helped by her. She is so sweet and helpful with all of our questions. She has such a positive attitude and really knows customer service! We always leave happy after speaking with her. We try to ask for her when we come by for our 6 month ring check ups. She has really changed around our whole perspective on this business. We stopped by the other day for another routine ring check up and were helped by Cambridge. She was also amazing!! So friendly, so funny and really made us feel welcomed and taken care of. If it wasn't for these two great staff members this would have been a very different review. We initially felt like we had to come back here due to the the fact we were told that the insurance requires us to only use this location, but now that we have been working with Valerie and Cambridge we are more than happy to make the long drives here! My daughter went with her boyfriend to try rings on yesterday. They are ready to get engaged and are so happy and excited. They went to this store and were treated absolutely horribly by the staff. I was immediately greeted by staff before I made it two feet into the door. They do this every time in my experience. I have been completely satisfied with the items I have purchased from them. Including my wife wedding band and everyone knows how important that piece is. Service after the sale is phenomenal. I have only had to come in for adjustments and routine cleaning. Staff is excellent at communication and is quick to keep the customer informed on how a repair is going and when the expected date of completion will be. We had interaction with multiple staff including the person opening the door for us to enter the building, a person asking what we they could do for us and directed us to the repair folks. Amazing. I am so happy. First off the place is beautiful. It's literally a diamond and gold wonderland. I take all my high end jewelry her for repairs or cleanings. One of my diamond rings over the years lost about 6. I took it in and they were so sweet. They gave an amazing estimate and told me they would fix the diamonds, clean, and polish my ring all in about a week. It came out perfect and I've had no problems since! I also have cracked the crystal on my Raymond Weil vintage watch and they fixed that up as well! My watch was gone for about 6 days, they gave me 2 estimates (sometimes they do that depending on what the watch repair person says), and when I got my watch back it looked brand new. They cleaned it, replaced the crystal, rotated and adjusted the ticker! So shiny and so perfect! Not only did they do everything they said they would but the extra care they took in customer service with amazing! I trust them with all of my fine jewelry! They are taking precautions during Covid as well. Everyone is wearing a mask while working and hand sanitizer is at all display cases. They are only allowing so many people inside for social distancing so make sure to call ahead of time just in case! read more

We knew that MJChristensen would be honest and fair. After thoroughly examining the watch Tom presented us with his evaluation and what our options were. Ultimately we decided that the best route was to trade the watch for a very fair and generous store credit. Today I had the pleasure of spending my credit with Tom's expert assistance. To start off I will say I didn't purchase jewelry. My jeweler had retired and I was waiting until their store reopened with the their assistant now owning store. I was getting married and I went to MJ Christensen just to get my ring cleaned. They inspected my ring and my fiancées ring. She told me she couldn't clean it to well because half of the diamonds were loose in both. She came back and said my fiancée ring had 2 lose diamonds and in my ring due to the my ring having so many diamonds and the amount of diamonds that were Loose the quote was gonna be expensive. She said it would be cheaper to just replace my ring!! Unbelievable... I took to my ring to my jeweler yesterday. I had 3 diamonds loose and in my husband's ring there was one. I got ring back within 24 hours and it is just fine. I will never walk into another MJ Christensen again. I do not recommend it to anyone. read more

A couple of months ago, my dog was jumping around, and happened to hook her nail in between the center stone of my engagement ring and the setting, and knocked the stone right out. I finally got around to looking for someone to fix it last week. M.J. Christensen came highly recommended by my Aunt, who had some custom work done here years ago. I stopped in last week on Tuesday, and was helped by Jessica. She took my ring back to the jeweler, and I was quoted an incredibly reasonable price. She said to give them a week, which would be perfect. About an hour and a half later, I got a call stating that my ring was ready!! I wasn't able to pick it up until yesterday, and they said that would be fine. When I stopped in yesterday, I don't remember the name of the gentleman who helped me, but he was great. An employee, older woman with dark shoulder length hair was standing at the front of the store facing the doors, I assume as a greeter. I walked in and smiled, this woman look at with with contempt. Did not greet me and continuously looked me up and down. She made no attempt to greet me so I said hello. This woman treated me like I was a vagrant that had entered her store. She was brisk and unwelcoming. This person made me so uncomfortable and was completely impolite for no reason. I dress well and look presentable. I will say POC should be wary of this business. *** In response to the owner I know you may feel entitled and justified to say dishonest things to protect your image. You have my pity. But in this day in age, most believe in treating people courteously especially in retail/ customer service industries. I personally was taught to treat everyone with respect regardless of sex, race or creed. There are companies you can hire to help you with that. I pray you find some help for your company and learn to be kind to everyone not just the people you think deserve it. read more
