I have a small size 5 ring size and hubby bought me a large diamond solitaire that stood wayyyy tall on my finger. Good job baby but I am rough on my hands, my manicures even take a beating. My large solitaire prongs kept getting hit on everything because it stood up soo large. Large diamond and deep. For my tenth anniversary years ago I took a drawing I drew and had them design it and it turned out exact!!!! They added black diamonds and channel set? saftely and protected my solitaire! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The shop is modest in decor. It's not corporate feeling or glitzy. I drive across town to come here and it's worth the extra effort. I had a ring I bought elsewhere fixed by them because the stone kept falling out. Now, it's permanently fixed and I don't have any worries. I saw a ring on the Strip that I loved but because it was "designer," the price tag was too high for my taste. So I took the idea to Rich and he was able to make a similar ring for me and then customize the engraving so I had a unique wedding ring. Later, my husband had an idea for a pendant and he sketched it out and Rich was able to create a wax mold of it for us and turn it into a pendant that I wear a lot. Recently, I was given a gold brooch that belonged to my grandmother. But I don't wear brooches so I asked the shop to turn it into a ring for me. I brought in some gold jewelry that I no longer wear and they were able to weigh it and give me a price to buy it from me. This helped offset the cost of making the ring since I didn't have to buy the gold from the shop. I was happy to see that the old jewelry I no longer wanted had value towards a piece of jewelry I really wanted. If you have old precious jewelry that you don't wear, consider making something new out of it. This shop has helped open my eyes to the possibilities. read more

I've used Rich Custom Jewelry a couple times for insurance appraisals for items bought elsewhere. The cost is $150. I also got a ring resized. It was going from a fairly small size to large, so the resizing was about $180, which included some additional gold. It's the kind of place that's more of an indie artisan place than a low cost chain store. I know I could probably get things done cheaper and roll the dice on quality, but I like the people there and they know what they're doing. read more

I gave the idea to Rich, and let him use his creative skills to engrave the message on the outside of the band, along with an image (actually an emoticon). A few months before my fiancee asked me to marry him he went to a local neighborhood jewelry store and had an engagement ring commissioned for me. I had shown and designed what my dream ring would look like and he took it into the store and one of the goldsmiths, Aaron L. created it from my drawings. It was more beautiful than I had ever imagined! I happily accepted his proposal and a year later I am still in love with my ring (and my fiancee :). My fiancee told me that he was treated very professionally throughout the process. The store called him when they found a stone for my ring and gave him an amazing price. I have also made a few trips to the store and every time I have been in there the staff is friendly and willing to help. They have many beautiful rings, necklaces, watches, money clips, etc. Staffs there are so nice too. I got a ring from my boyfriend as a gift and i love it so much. But i have a problem. Staffs there can't resize my simple thin gold ring to my size. Is that because of the measuring rings they have or what?? The ring was big when my boyfriend bought it, so i used the measuring ring that they use and we got it sized down. we went back to pick it up and it was too big, so we asked them to size down more. But it was still too big when i put it on the next day. I needed to have it resized anyways and i decided to put it on a different finger. we paid the fee this time, which was half the regular price($60). What happened was, i explained that the ring they resized for me (twice) was too big and i asked them to make it smaller than the ring I used to measure my size. But again it was very big. (detail: my ring kept moving on my finger. the stone part came to the palm side in a few minutes after i put it on. i didn't do anything that i can think of to move the ring. terrible, isn't it?) I went there 2 more times(!) to make my ring smaller. Now, the stone part is still coming inward, which means it's still big. I never had a problem on resizing my ring and this is just so disappointing. It's not the money my bf paid. It's frustrating because I love my ring and can't enjoy wearing it. I feel weird on my finger, which never happened with any of my other rings from other stores. So, as jewerlers, I can't say they're good at resizing a ring. As a jewerly store, I would go back and buy something else. If i buy a ring there, i need to pay another $60 to resize my ring at somewhere else :/ read more

I gave 1 but I really wanted to give ZERO stars for how poorly things were handled here. My boyfriend ordered a custom 20 inch chain from this establishment for me for my birthday. A man handled his order and told him it would be delivered to the store when ready. When we finally went up there for said chain. The man showed us the box and it looked perfect. When my boyfriend asked for it to be shown outside the box, the gentleman stiffened up then advised us he needed to go to the back and he'd be right back (weird). When he came back he showed a 16 inch infant chain with the pendant we custom for said chain. My boyfriend became upset because even though he inquired about a 16 inch chain when ordering, he still paid for a 20 inch chain and it was on paperwork as well that he signed. My boyfriend advised the man he just wanted the pendant and not chain since he made an error. The man became very unprofessional advising him that he was going to call the police and say he didn't want to pay! My boyfriend said okay (mind you that is falsifying information to the police). The issue was never about payment, all he had to do was come to a common solution for the issue. But instead the man called the police and told them whatever. When he was done, my boyfriend got on the phone with his lawyer and ONLY THEN the man wanted to refund money which was already paid for the chain but still charge him for the tax on the chain. He gave my boyfriend the pendant and told him to never return. This was so unprofessional. Honestly, I think he switched the chains in the back but what do I know? What I do know is we will be following up on this matter. Friends and family won't have business here and neither of us will be back! Karmas a thing and I hope if you take your business here you beware of the weird and shady customer service they offer. GOOD LUCK! read more

The staff is beautiful and they never judge me, no matter how eccentric my requests can be. I love stopping by this shop to check out the great fashion on the employees and in the cases. Went great at first. Ended up with a beautiful design. Did not receive final numbers to sign off on. Was not given a final price before the ring was manufactured. Then when the price came in AFTER he made the ring, it was way higher then expected. If I had saw that ahead of time would have had time to make adjustments on the ring. I was willing to compromise, he was not willing to make any adjustments based on how it was handled. Ended up having to dismantle the ring and get my diamonds back. I refuse to be blackmailed. This review is long overdue (as I don't even live in the Vegas area anymore), but Rich is a very nice guy and works you through the process of getting that custom piece you want. My story: I bought my wife's engagement ring and our custom wedding band set separately (and unfortunately, not from Rich). So her wedding band and engagement did not attach at all. Long story short, her engagement ring is at the bottom of the Caribbean in Belize, and her wedding band just looked too plain without a stone. I went to Rich with the thought of somehow recreating a single ring that encompassed the beautiful highlights of each ring in a single one. He did just that. It is almost like he did a 50/50 hybrid of the 2 rings, but it somehow has its very own individual personality. And as far as cost went- very reasonable, and we started that discussion by him asking me what I wanted to spend. I gave him my ballpark figure, and we determined what diamonds would fit in that range (since that was the single most expensive piece) and then worked backward through the setting, type of materials, etc. No upsell, no talking me out of anything, he simply listened to what I wanted, and created it. I had a bridal set, custom made, at this shop. Later on, my fiancé had my ring made at this shop. After checking with several jewelry shops, I found Rich Custom Jewelry. To start, the shop is located in a old strip mall. I wouldn't call the strip mall run down, but you can definitely see that it's old. If I was the owner of the shop, I'd be looking to move. You have to be buzzed into the shop. Not a big deal, in fact, I would probably do the same thing, all things considered The shop is small. They have pre-made jewelry for sale. Someone mentioned it was a smoky shop. I didn't find that at all. Rich offered the best price at the best quality. Unlike all the other jewelry shops I checked with, this place designs and creates all jewelry, on site! This was a big plus for me. I went in with a very rough idea on what I wanted for the bridal set. After speaking with guy, Aaron I think his name was, and looking at several books, we managed to decide on a design. He mocked it up on his computer, using a specialized CAD program for designing jewelry, and sent me a picture of it a short time later. (maybe a week) I was happy with the design and gave him the go ahead to create it. The set was finished a few weeks later, and I couldn't have been happier with it. Went in to have my ring resized everyone was really nice and all that but almost a week after having my ring it broke. They did a horrible job resizing it, they had to have put some fake plastic in it or something because it shouldn't have broke that easily. Went back to get it redone now let's see how long it last.
