My daughter had just turned 21 and we wanted to take her out, so about 10 of us headed into Bumpy's. The second we walked in we were greeted with eyerolls and a very bi**hy attitude from the bartender. Before we could even order, she yells "We don't serve anyone with a vertical". Okay - well apparently you don't like tips then? In Washington you can't get your horizontal until AFTER you turn 21. So that means the day of your 21st - you're going to have a vertical and probably will have it for the next 3-6 weeks after. Initially they tried to tell us it's the law. WRONG. The only law is that the establishment has to check the birthdate and the photo. The staff at Bumpy's wanted no part of that - which, how lazy can you get?! Call me crazy but I don't think many kids with fakes are going to get a VERTICAL fake! Use your brains Bumpy's. If the liquor board is on your a$$ for serving minors - it's not because you're serving people with vertical IDs. It's because you aren't checking the birthdate and the photo on the HORIZONTAL ID to begin with - and you clearly don't own a scanner. Zero reason to greet customers so rudely. Just bad business all around. Too bad, too.. We're good tippers. That bartender could've made about $300 just off us.

This is a typical dive bar with regulars at the bar looking hazily at their libations. Soft rock played in the background and lots of high tops beside the bar. I was asked to order and picked out deviled eggs and nachos! How could you go wrong even if they were so so? Well, the joke was on our friend because they were delicious! The deviled eggs had bacon crumpled on top with sliced green onions and were served on a bed of greens! The nachos were well covered and must have been prepared in layers. Dive bars can have great food!

Discovered this place when going to the Radnor's burger food truck parked outside. This is a…read moreperfect set-up for the two businesses because Firemind provides a comfortable and family-friendly sit-down environment to eat at, which Radnor's lacks; and Radnor's provides the good food that Firemind does not make themselves. We were lucky enough to come when a FIFA game was on. There was plenty of seating on a Monday night and we got a great view of the game on the tv. There were a few groups sitting in the back and in the backyard patio. The back area offers various beer-brewing books and board games for your entertainment. They offer their own in-house brewed beers and seltzers. I usually drink seltzers to be "healthier" but usually don't like how tart or bubbly most places make them. I tried a special walnut seltzer here that was just a one-off experiment the brewer made. It was AMAZING. I went back for seconds and would love to take a growler home. I think my husband enjoyed his beers too, but he drinks IPAs and that's not my jam. The two guys working that day were very friendly. One of them was the brewer (head brewer?) and we learned a lot about the place's history and what they do. This brewery has been here for years and I didn't know. I thought they were newly opened, similar to Radnor's next door, but they actually rebranded last year or so, so it made it seem like they were a new business. The guys explained that they used to be called something else that made people think they were a place to buy beer brewing equipment and classes rather than a place to drink beer, so they changed their name and it really helped bring more people in. They still offer brewing classes at a great price. It sounds like such a cool experience for the solo beer enthusiast or for a team building event. They also host open mic nights and other community events. I had such a good time here that I would love to come back and continue to try out more of their beers, learn about the beer brewing process, and take in the fun and casual environment.

Everything seems about the same ( the beertender I recall seeing before when the predecessor was still around...I think) as far as set up goes. Definitely some new signage going on which is to be expected. Firemind and it's predecessor I think remain my favorite brewery in Puyallup. My first visit under the Firemind name I got two of the beers on tap which I liked quite a bit. The first one was Brain Drain which was quite good. It is an English Bitter and lived up to that name quite nicely. It had maltiness going on which I do love with this particular kind of beer. Mind Goblin was the next beer. This was a good one too as it also had maltiness, nuttiness and toffee at play in the the flavor profile. Great first stop...just as enjoyable and the predecessor brewery and I'd love to come back to partake more of their beers !

4.5 stars! Love The Mill! Have been coming here for years…read moreand the food is consistently wonderful. Brunch, Special menus for holidays, dinner, cocktails, dessert-it has all been top notch. This is a gem. Menu changes regularly so there is always something fresh and new. Prices may seem a little high for the area but the food and drink justify it. On my most recent visit we got 2 appetizers, two entrees (one was steak with shrimp add on), 3 desserts, and 5 cocktails for $250 which was not outrageous. Portion sizes are great. Food is full of flavor and cooked perfectly. We have sat on the restaurant side a few times but normally sit in a booth on the bar side. There is also a small patio off the bar in good weather. Bartenders are friendly and engaging. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Only reason I knocked it a half star is the service on the bar side can be slow or feel forgotten about sometimes but it just depends on the time of day and if the bartender is having to do double duty or if they have dedicated wait staff in that area.

When we walked in, we had the option of going to the bar area or restaurant. We chose the bar. The place was spacious and had ample seating. We sat down and a gal came to our table to ask for our order. She immediately came off as very standoffish, but, all good, we were there to relax and enjoy. We ordered wings to start off with. Mind you, it was happy hour which she mentioned herself. Cool, thank you. The wings were decent but some were soggy. But it's all good. We then ordered an entree and more wings because we were hungry. Did another dozen wings in the buffalo sauce. Our waitress, Kalidawn, reiterating the wings were 2 orders. Didn't make sense but it did in the end as she was trying to separate the orders as "half orders" to charge more? When in reality, it was the same buffalo flavor for the dozen wings so it wasn't a "half order". Really? You're going to do all of that to get you an extra few dollars? She was already rude, dismissive, and bothered from the beginning. We try to look past these things but she was truly excessive. It's like she wanted to make a statement and hated that we weren't regulars. We ended up getting sick after eating here. The service was beyond disappointing and the food sucked, but we also got sick which was the cherry on the cake. We will never be back and hope others think twice. And to find out, Kalidawn is the manager at the restaurant. So don't even bother trying to complain about her horrible HORRIBLE service and attitude. She runs the place which makes sense as to why I'm sure they're struggling. Do better.

When asked the bartender about it, she said, well, prices subject to change. But I never saw any signs to that effect. If you know me, you KNOW I love a good dive bar and you can tell from the outside that's the vibe. I stopped in on a Friday to grab some lunch and get some work done (yes they have wifi!) It was surprisingly pretty busy for it being a work day but everybody was really nice and the vibe was friendly. They have a restaurant portion and also bar seating/tables in the bar, so plenty of space to choose from. Ordered a drink and some mozzarella sticks and got to working and had a great experience! The bartenders here are soooo nice. The bartender remembered my name and gave a nice "bye Lauren!" on my way out which was sweet. Good selection of drinks and pretty solid food menu. While I only got an app, I've heard their burgers are solid so I'll definitely try one of those next time. The mozz sticks I had were delicious - cheesy, piping hot, and unhealthy. Just how I like them. My fiance also loves a good dive bar so we'll be returning soon for a date night. They have a dart board, skee ball, Golden Tee, and some other machines so there's plenty to do here. Super solid on the dive scale!
