I've passed Buds in Milton hundredsss of times as I live pretty close by and have always made a mental note that I want to stop in. If you know me, you KNOW I love a good dive bar and you can tell from the outside that's the vibe. I stopped in on a Friday to grab some lunch and get some work done (yes they have wifi!) It was surprisingly pretty busy for it being a work day but everybody was really nice and the vibe was friendly. They have a restaurant portion and also bar seating/tables in the bar, so plenty of space to choose from. Ordered a drink and some mozzarella sticks and got to working and had a great experience! The bartenders here are soooo nice. The bartender remembered my name and gave a nice "bye Lauren!" on my way out which was sweet. Good selection of drinks and pretty solid food menu. While I only got an app, I've heard their burgers are solid so I'll definitely try one of those next time. The mozz sticks I had were delicious - cheesy, piping hot, and unhealthy. Just how I like them. My fiance also loves a good dive bar so we'll be returning soon for a date night. My mom and I have been to Buds multiple times, on this occasion we both got cheeseburgers with fries and ranch. Our food always come out quickly and the servers and other patrons are always friendly. We love to just hangout for a little bit and play some pull tabs while we enjoy our lunch or dinner. Also its nice how the prices aren't extreme. read more

Went to Buds last night to watch game 4 of NBA finals. Not really a cool sports bar isn't too bad though I guess just too dark. Seems like there is a lot of potential too. Lots of space and lots of TVs. The service was VERY mediocre. The waitress was nice enough I guess, but she seemed really annoyed when my buddy asked for a trash can. She said "no way we aren't that kind of establishment" meanwhile there is a dude like 10 feet around us yelling the F word. Which was fine we didn't care but maybe he was a regular ? The menu looked yummy I personally was gonna order clam chowder and a taco omelette my buddy who asked about the trash can mentioned to me that he might get a steak. But the waitress just wasn't into taking care of us. Again she was nice but maybe we weren't the regulars so they seemed to get priority over us. She never asked us if we wanted food but gave us menus in the beginning. She walked by us several times. I would make it a point to look at the menu when she was in our area maybe she would've asked us if we wanted food... but nothing. Again she was polite it just seemed she wasn't into taking care of us after the whole trash can question. We'd been driving by Bud's for a couple of years and always remarked on how clean and well kept it looked from the exterior. Finally, one night after a particularly tiresome day at work we decided to stop, and I'm so glad we did! I've found a place that feels safe. It feels like home. Kat, the proprietress, is wonderful. After our first visit, she remembered us and our drink orders. We now stop at least once a week, and sometimes twice. As an older single woman, I'd have zero qualms walking in alone. The menu is extended bar food but the steaks are good and so are the generously poured drinks. I like this place. I like the regular crowd. I like Kat. And I'm glad I've found a place. read more

I love old taverns with character. I love unpretentious food with good service. This is my local watering hole. I don't always want to watch my language or be politically correct. It's is where I sometimes go to watch a game and be pampered by people who know me. This is my dive bar and it's pretty darned awesome. The pic here is of their (chicken and Jo-Jo's). It's a half of a full chicken that they so kindly rolled in hot sauce for me. Yes the entire half chicken. They make the best jo Jo's here by hand. They have all manner of beer and drinks .... I visited Buds for the 3rd time last night. The first 2 times I ran in, got a shot and then left. Both times I was pleasantly surprised with the prize and size of my shot. Last night was no different. My boyfriend ordered a double shot (pictured below) amd as you can tell by his face, he was pleased. We ordered some grub and it was all pretty good! Exactly what I want out of bar food; hot, fried, seasoned, and quick service. Also, won $75 on a pull tab so Bud's gets 5 stars! read more

First time visit and it's the last time! We stopped by this hole in the wall after doing a search for places with pull tabs, bad idea! After seating at the bar we were greeted and gave a drink order, that was the last time the sever came back! The worst part was the owner was up front counting the money and kept his back to us the entire time, not once offering to assist the server! Like wow, for real. We just moved to the area and decided to check out a local bar. Group of four of us walked in and you could almost hear pin drops. Deer in headlights look from the bar staff and some of the people in there. We sat down and waited.. occasionally making eye contact with the bartender/server who made us feel like we were an inconvenience. We ordered a pitcher of beer, a basket of wings and fries to share, and we were out of there like a bat out of hell. The most awkward bar experience we've been through. You swear it was out of a movie. Gave three stars because the wings and fries were not bad. Sounds like this place doesn't have the most welcoming vibe to new faces. A good ol' community bar. Cold beer, good burgers and fish/chips. Prices were decent compared to what most upity pubs charge.

Food is pretty good, not dive food real food that makes you stay for a couple more drinks so you dont Have to go home and sit across from mother in law chewing on mashed potatoes without her false teeth. With that thought think I'll have another whisky. It's a place you can bring your wife but 2nd thoughts why would you. We've purchased their Chicken and Jo's for many years but this last order was NOT good. Not sure if they've changed suppliers for the chicken, but it was a big disappointment. I wish I could give this place zero stars. The bartender Cat is AWFUL! Rude and pushy. I asked for a shot with a sprite back and she made me an entire drink, when I tried to correct her she said " Well, I already made it." We got there at 6:50 and wanted to play pool. She said we better make it quick cause she wanted to leave soon. It was 6:50! She then proceeded to come over and badger us about making it quick. What a loser. This app requires a star in order to write a review, but Bud's of Milton is not deserving of even one star. I arrived to a busy bar, boasting live music, and to very little staff. I was first denied service, with a polite excuse of being busy; I took a seat, and patiently waited (my leg is broken standing in line at the bar is not an option). The server came back to the group I was with, and began to take orders, I politely waved my hand, and was looked at but not acknowledged. On the 3rd encounter, orders were being taken from patrons in my group who arrived AFTER me, when I waved my hand again, the server looked at me, held her hand up, and said, "you can just wait", then walked away. The absolute rudeness, and lack of service is unexcusable. I would recommend that anyone spying this bar from the road, continue by, and spend their money elsewhere....unless of course you desire being treated like garbage, ignored, and downright disrespected. It was my birthday recently and a few of my girlfriends and we decided to finish off the night with a little dancing. We had a blast! It was so much fun. There is plenty of room to dance and it is such a chill place. But I wanted to give them praise. The night was winding down and while I was getting a drink of my water someone walked up behind me and accosted me. The bar tender was quick to remove the individual from Bud's and checked back with me to make sure I was ok. She stated "That kind of behavior is NOT tolerated here." Cathleen Stanton is the worst bartender I've ever experienced. She was completely rude and unorganized, unprofessional and unwelcoming. It's a pretty sketchy bar. And I understand that it was a busy day it being game day and all but that's no reason to treat me and my friends like that. Upon entering the bar we waited to order which was usual and normal. I ordered 3 double hornitos and 3 beers. It came out to 62$ I gave her a 80 and tipped her 6. We were watching the Seahawks play the rams while playing pool. We got hungry in the middle of the 3rd quarte and decided to order food. We went to order food which she said would be a 20 minute wait. We watched the rest of the third quarter and the rest of the fourth quarter and still no food. We went to get our money back due to all of us being on a schedule and decided to eat at home since that was where we was going anyways. When we approached her she was yelling at another customer so it made us uneasy. We asked her for a refund and she said no. We asked why, she said that our food was coming up. That was bedsides the point. We wanted to eat while enjoying the game and beers. She said " I'll bag it and serve it you already paid for it. If when I bring it you don't eat it then that's on you". I was furious and felt extorted. She said you already paid for it like when did the customer stop being right? When did the customers money not become the customers option to not spend it? After I asked her name and made it clear that I was going to write my review she told me to not come back smh. Of course I'm not coming back. Went last night. Had the prime rib special. The prime rib was nearly half fat and the potatoes so salty they were inedible. My husband abhorred his burger though. They did take my $4 drink off my bill, but I still left hungry as most off my dinner wad left on the plate. :( read more

I only have 2 good things to say about this place. The bartender was really nice and the drinks were good. Other then that our server wasn't very good neither was the food. The server didn't offer to take our order until we asked if we can order, when we received our starter salad they didn't bring silverware and then she ignored me when I tried to flag her down. We order Buds "famous chicken and joes," for dinner last night and let's just say we won't be ordering from there again. I'm pretty sure this place has NEVER heard of seasoning. Not one sprinkle of salt, garlic salt, pepper....nothing! It was very bland, even the onion rings had no seasoning. Went here to visit a friends parents who play in a pool league. We always try and meet up with them every couple of weeks. We get to watch some pretty good pool players and see bars we might never walk into. This night was Buds in Milton. I've driven by the place a hundred times on the way to the skate park down the street, so was familiar with the location. Parking kind of sucked, I guess it was the last match of the year, so the place was packed. Inside was pretty wide open. Well, it would be pretty wide open on a regular night. Four tables, I think 50 cents a game. Couple arcade games, couple dart boards. One pinball machine, cue ball wizard. I know it's a pool game with a couple of actual balls inside the game. The machine itself was in a decent shape minus the plunger. The plunger was really bad, needed some serious work. Tilt was about mid, got caught a couple of times. Reply is reasonable, got a few. I had been here a few times for just beer but I never tried the food. I few years ago I heard they had a rib night that was pretty good so we had to give the food a try. It was Friday and my wife wanted to see some live music and get a good steak. We got neither. Live music is only on Saturday nights. I ordered an onion burger with fries which was pretty good. The patty was not handmade but it wasn't the superthin costco patty either. Meg ordered a NY steak medium rare. She got a salad that was fresh and pretty large. The steak was not a NY cut. It looked like round steak. And...it was well done....no pink and very dark. It was seasoned well so she ate most of it but when the waitress came to pick up our plates, we mentioned that the steak wasn't medium rare. She gave us a free glass of wine. It was a little later in the night so most people had already eaten. The cook was standing in the doorway of the kitchen and I could see the waitress show our overcooked steak to him. He did not seem pleased. Later, when we were walking out, he glared at us. I don't quite understand this. It is not our fault that he doesn't know how to cook a steak.... We didn't make a fuss. This place is pretty big and would be a good place to meet friends or see a band but now we know to stay away from the steaks. read more

If you're expecting something more than a roadhouse atmosphere, then you won't get the charm of Buds. I've been here several times, mostly dancing, but have also had dinner here. Here's what makes Buds one of my favorite spots: 1- It's friendly. Seriously, the staff and the patrons are super welcoming and just nice. 2. The dance floor is open, and friendly. If you just want to dance and not deal with some big casino or irritating poseurs, this is your place. 3. The food is really good. Don't let appearances fool you. I've never been disappointed by the food here. 4. It's low key. You can come in and sink into one of the booths (which are SO old school!) and have dinner, or you can play pool.
