The owner cannot compartmentalize professional and personal interactions. I couldn't respond to his…read moremessages for a few hours and found myself receiving a string of condescending messages and then ultimately being blocked while never even having a chance to reply. My number has been blocked ever since - totally unprofessional conduct! I never hired them, but my review below is regarding my honest experience dealing with the owner of this business Carlos so that others can be forewarned. He even sent me a message on Google yesterday morning instructing me to "call him now" after seeing my review instead of ever offering an apology for less than professional conduct. Now to my review- I sent the him a message a few weeks back simply asking if I was still on the schedule. An hour later, I got 2 calls and messages from him asking who I was, immediately followed by "good luck with your project." So 10 mins is all customers get to respond before they are sent a rude response to find another professional? I wasn't able to see this correspondence until later and assumed they were clearly not interested in my business, so I never responded. Later in the day, I had another set of messages from him concluding "bless your little heart" "have a great life." Who says things like this in a professional interaction? When I went to finally respond and call back, I realized that my number had been blocked. Really? Also, they advertise in their brochure that they match competitors pricing. He even confirmed - "yes we do as long as they are in the same business and not handymen." But when I sent him a fitting quote which was about $200 less than this company's price, he said, "that's too low for us, go ahead with those gents." So price match only applies when it's convenient for them. Secondly, I asked him about warranty, and got no response. And after 2 weeks of waiting, not only was I not on the schedule anymore as discussed, I was not even able to be located in their system with my phone number. A few days back, my phone number was still blocked and I actually tried calling him from my husband's phone and of course it went through. The owner Carlos had no recollection of the aforementioned text messages or why my phone number is blocked. He also had no recollection of anything whatsoever with regards to my project - "they see so many people in a day" he said. He then said "let me power cycle my phone and see what happens." As if that's going to unblock my number? An hour later, I still couldn't text or call him from my phone. Outrageous! I have dealt with much bigger companies in the past and even they don't make customers feel so insignificant. It seems to me that they have more than enough volume to care about people or make an effort to earn anymore business. I am happy to take my business elsewhere!

Into the Woods did a wonderful job at our house! We wanted to replace all the floors (combination…read moreof carpet, tile, and laminate) with LVP's in our 3 story home before we moved in. The staff did a great job and were very communicative during the entire process. They were willing to work with us on price and gave us a discount based on other quotes. We were allowed to view the showroom and take some samples to the house to see how the floors would look in the sunlight. We were in close contact with one of the owners, Candi, as she would give us updates and answered any of our questions along the way. Overall, everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful, and we're very satisfied with their work!

Floor is sagging / pulling apart where they replaced / did not install more footings in the addition. Main issue is electrical - Initially lights went out in the addition they added and over Christmas the addition completely lost power. no GFI in bathroom installed. Two outlets right behind sink(directly behind faucet). Are any licensed electricians employed here? Came to investigate and found they re-used old wire that was existing instead of replacing with new and heavier(correct) gauge wire from the panel. *Nothing to code to say the least.* Found several hot / melting spots in the wire and one spot where it completely burned through and smoldered in the insulation / roof. Instead of removing old outlets they covered them in drywall and hid them in a wall. This could have caused a house fire. Definitely use caution using these guys.

The Pethels re-did the master bathroom in my mother's house. Yesterday, one of the upper cabinets…read moreinstalled in the bathroom fell onto her while she was getting ready. It fell directly on top of her, hitting her head and knocking her to the floor. Both of her arms and legs were bleeding and are badly bruised/scraped. She was extremely shaken by the event. The top of her head is also tender to the touch. Upon further inspection, the large bathroom cabinet that fell on her was only held into the drywall with one screw on each side. No drywall anchors were found in the wall. We are now worried about the other cabinet, curious if it too is negligently installed. Furthermore, she sent a picture and message to Whitney to let her know what had happened, only to get a "thumbs up" response to the picture - absolutely poor. I highly recommend using caution in regards to hiring this company - especially if you have children or small animals. This could have ended poorly and we're lucky she is okay.

We were very unhappy with both the process and the results of our two-bathroom renovation. No…read moresupervisor was present to coordinate the crew or oversee the work, so we came home to find mistakes daily: they installed the wrong bead board, reinstalled the old medicine cabinet rather than the new one, didn't measure for wall switches, painted the windows shut, re-installed a clearly broken electrical outlet and didn't bother to sand, leaving rough edges as trim. Aside from the mistakes, the lack of supervision meant crews operated at unpredictable times without notice (nights, weekends) and were very disrespectful of our home. They used our bed as a staging area for drywall, stored hardware on our glass picture frames and used an electric saw on our couch to cut tile. They left a mess inside every day and piles of trash outside every evening. Despite repeated requests to clean up the construction debris, no one would pick it up and we had to take it to the landfill ourselves. Each crew blamed the other for the problems so I had to contact each crew to find out how to fix the other's problems. I wondered why we even hired a contractor if we had to do this ourselves. The bright spot was Taylor the plumber, who was prompt, friendly and detail-oriented. Otherwise, we were disappointed start to finish.

very bad experience...a tile worker cut one of our pipes in the bathroom wall (near the kitchen…read morewhere they were working) which caused a water leak which eventually turned into water damage and mold in the kitchen cabinets....it was a complete mess...also, we paid for a tile floor job and they sub-contracted a young guy to do the work...after the job was complete, another contractor we hired to do some other work noticed air pockets in the tile work...the floor had not been properly adhered to the sub floor causing major air gaps...long story short - we had to have the whole floor redone by someone else...eventually had their insurance pay up and filed a lawsuit to get money for the mold and water damage from one of their men cutting a pipe by accident when he tried to remove an old backsplash....avoid this company as no one comes out to check their work or ask questions as to the quality of the work being done! BEWARE!!

I needed some updates to my kitchen and had some idea but not totally. The designers Jenifer and Justin were great in suggesting things and working with my budget. Unfortunately ding install there was an accident with my existing granite bar top and it broke. They tried to match it and almost installed it but I didn't want it because it was noticeably different. They decided to replace the bar top as well as the entire kitchen island with granite that I chose myself. They were also sensitive to my schedule as I had family from out of town arriving. They finished the day before and it was absolutely beautiful. I'll definitely work with them again as I have my master bath and closets to do next.
