Also "at least on this day" I noticed that shoppers are much more rude here, they will completely block an aisle away with there carts and not be courteous to put the carts on the side "this happened at least 10 times" I've never had that problem at the Costco on Coleman Avenue, people over there have some respect and will move over for you. The good: When you enter, you have to scan your card, when I scanned my card the employee said something to me? I said I'm sorry I didn't understand what you said? He then replied "thank you for being such a long time customer, this is your 30th year!" I thought that was really nice. (I can't believe I've been a member for so long) This Costco also has my favorite Kiko Man soy sauce "the original, with all the salt" the one on Coleman Avenue does not. Bottom line is I don't think I'll be going back to this location, the negatives outweigh the positives in my opinion.

The food court is outside of the warehouse, so it won't be enjoyable to wait in line or eat there on hot summer days. I waited over 30 minutes for a pizza when I was told it would only take 10 minutes. The employee tossed the pizza box at me and walked away, didn't even ask if I wanted plates, parmesan, or pepper flakes. On the bright side, I did find the Panini World Cup sticker book here for $84.

Douglas was so so kind to come to my aid with a box to hold my things. He even put them on another belt (a closed register) for me until I got to the front of my line! Another customer in my line seeing this turned to me stating Douglas was the best! Tbh, I know Costco employees are kind but I've NEVER experienced anything like this and I'm truly thankful for Douglas helping me!! Costco Coleman, pls give Douglas a bonus and any extra kudos you can from me!! This man deserves all the praises!

Costco is, well, Costco! It's that place where you can find great deals and also bulk items…read more However, the many Costco Wholesale locations in the Bay Area have made me realize that not all Costco locations are equal. I live in Palo Alto; and, the Mountain View warehouse is one of the easiest local Costco warehouses to quickly get in and out of. However, the Costco in Santa Clara has items that are unavailable in the Mountain View warehouse. Consequently, I periodically will make the drive to this warehouse in Santa Clara (near the airport but opposite SJC terminals). The Good: This Costco location has the cheapest gasoline in the entire Bay Area. Last night, I purchased gas in Palo Alto at $6.19/gallon. Yet, it's actually just $5.25/gallon today at this Costco location! In addition, this Costco has plenty of items that just aren't found in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Redwood City, Foster City or other Bay Area locations. The Bad: Customer service at this location isn't as exemplary as you find at some other Costco locations. In turn, the members/customers aren't as "empathetic" with one another as you normally find at many Costco locations. I personally think that it's because the customer service (or the inability to see many warehouse workers on the flood) allows people to be rude or problematic. The Ugly: The parking at this location is oddly designed. However, the presence of a roundabout inside the driveway is just....weird. Bay Area drivers seem to suffer from an inability to figure it out. It doesn't help that the roundabout is central to everyone coming in and out of the parking lot and/or going to the gas station. Verdict: Overall, this is a good Costco with wide selection of products; but, it has a weird driveway/parking experience and employees that probably need a bit more training and visibility.

Unfortunately my experience yesterday was very unpleasant due to Francisco's poor people and customer service skills (or lack thereof). I explained that I wanted to use my gift card during checkout but couldn't find the gift card at the time and didn't want to hold up the line so paid using my Costco credit card. Right after swiping, I found the gift card so I wanted to have the amount returned to my credit card and re-buy the 3 items using the gift card instead. I made the request at Merchandise pickup where there were no customers waiting after me. After I explained what happened, Francisco said it was my own fault for not using the correct card, so I'll just have to use the gift card next time and said I could have just stayed as long as I needed regardless of holding up the line to find the card. Obviously I acknowledged my own mistake, which is why I explained the situation to him truthfully since the beginning. However, the attitude, demeanor, and choice of words Francisco used were rude, demeaning, and unnecessary. I asked him kindly and he could have simply said something along the lines of "I'm sorry to hear what happened. Unfortunately in this case, I won't be able to fulfill your request, but you are more than welcome to use the gift card another time." That's all! There was absolutely no reason for the attitude. Costco, please retrain Francisco on basic customer service. No paying membership customers appreciate spending money just to be spoken rudely to. I've had many great experiences here from other staff members so hopefully my next review will be a positive one. Most of all, I hope Francisco learns and changes for the better!
