Delicious treats! I've been here several times now and the service and quality of ingredients are consistently great! I've tried several of their Italian ice flavors and all of them pair perfectly with the vanilla soft serve. Their dirty sodas are delicious as well! The restaurant is conveniently located right off State Street. Inside is clean with fun, bright decor. Lots of seating. There is even a quaint little back room away from the main counter with a few tables and chairs. Will definitely be back, and will definitely bring my kids here next time! read more

I was out running errands in the area today. I needed a soda while I was out and about so I made my way in to grab one. I have checked their menu online before so I had a general idea of what kind of goodies they had. I was excited that I finally get to check out the place I drive by all week. I came in late afternoon so it was pretty chill. The gal behind the counter was helping someone in the drive thru window which gave me a minute to look over the menu. I also got to check out the venue while I was waiting. The little shop is so cute! I adore all the Valentines decor everywhere. After scoping out the joint, I headed back to check out the menu again. Everything on the menu looked tasty. Some of the soda combinations looked really good but I didn't know if some of the syrups they had were sugar free. So after the gal was done, I was able to get a couple questions answered. The only sugar free syrup they had was vanilla. Such a bummer since they have so many other flavors to accommodate their drink list. Doesn't give sugar free drinkers many drink options. So, I ordered a custom dirty soda of diet Dr. Pepper with sugar free vanilla and cream. I also ordered a kid's size of chocolate and vanilla swirl custard too. I am in awww at how much custard you get in a kid's size! You are truly getting your money's worth. My drink was wrapped up and I grabbed my goodies and made my way into the side room to enjoy my goodies. I had to sit in the side room to eat my treat. It was fun sitting next to the colorful wall. Whoever painted it did such a great job! My custard swirl was so good! It was creamy. Chocolate and vanilla will always be a winning combination. I ate about half and really wanted to take the rest home but I wasn't going home anytime soon. Sucked I was getting rid of it. I did take a sip of my dirty soda on my way out of the door. I didn't really taste any flavoring in it. I thought maybe the sweetness of the custard was still present on my taste buds so I waited to take another drink. My drink was disappointing. You can taste the cream in it. I don't know if the soda syrup was out but the Dr. Pepper taste was very light. I didn't really taste any of the sugar free vanilla. I did finish the soda cause I didn't want to waste it but I'll just stick to the frozen treats the next time I'm in. Happy I got to stop in today. The custard was so good! I can't wait till it gets hotter and can come here with my husband. Their shakes sound great and my husband is a sucker for a good milkshake. I have a feeling he's going to love this place. I am looking forward having the churro dessert with the custard on top time. That combination just sounds fantastic and it will be a must have the next time I'm in. read more

There used to be an Italian Ice place near my house in san diego so I missed italian ice + custard the haleakala sunrise was delicious and fruity my sister got strawberry pog which was good but she said the sunrise was better the custard itself was SO good read more

A sweet find in this recently opened (March 2023) honest to goodness REAL Italian ice shop! My Sicilian heritage, Brooklyn born and raised hubby has been missing real Italian ice since we moved away from NY area and now he is a happy guy to have found it here. Me too! Delightful interior where pride of ownership sparkles. Charming, friendly owners in husband (Mike) and wife (Julie), the MJ of the name who found their way to Boise from Spokane via Kentucky. SWEET EATS: We have been in a couple of times to try different flavors of ices and these are the real-deal-texture for Italian ice. They have lemon, of course, and it is dee-licious but they have maybe another dozen'ish (rotating?) flavors too and all made on site. Each one we have tried has been yummy, like peaches and cream and also root beer. Several sizes available with the kids size ($2.99) being ample serving for us. Also on the menu sweet treats like Dole Whips and frozen custard in cones or cups and frozen drinks which have an option of being topped with the frozen custard and it is an option with the Italian ice too or ice and custard can be blended together (called cold fusion, I think). Several kinds of specialty sodas, too, in sizes from 16 oz to 44 oz. We're not so much beverage drinkers but our goal is to come back often and work our way through all the flavors of the Italian ice and frozen custard creations too. JAVA NOTE: One thing they do not offer here is coffee. We were in one day when a woman came in specifically looking for coffee service. This is an ice and frozen sweets shop not a coffee place. Plan accordingly. SPARKLING INTERIOR: Once home to the now defunct Sweet Valley Cookie Co., the owners have painted and freshened up the once dark space. Light and bright in front with windows in that seating area and in the large back room, now with fun wall art I think Julie did herself, you'll find lots more tables and even one that is "pint sized" for little ones. So spiffy clean everywhere too. WORTH-THE-TRIP LOCATION: The only hitch in this giddyeup may be one has to know this is here to know it is here. It is a destination location not a walking through the neighborhood location. (As bookmark, The Lift (Bar and Grill) is immediate neighbor on the same side of W. State Street at the corner of W. State and Lander.) It is worth the trip to discover it! PARKING: Private lot. If you miss the turn into it off of State Street, you can turn on the next side street, W. Lander, and enter the lot from the back. ACCESSIBILITY: ADA marked parking in the back lot with sidewalk access into the building. All on one floor. Ample floor space throughout. Standard height, accessible, table seating. Loo is accessible. PS: No outdoor seating. A DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW!: I didn't see it at first so fyi it is there. Great find! Cute little place with indoor seating but also a drive thru!! Lots of flavor options. Ice cream is so good and creamy! They are very nice and let you try samples of all the ice flavors. I've been wanting to Boise to get an italian ice/soft serve type spot for awhile and finally got off my lazy ass and tried it. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Portions were buck wild and the flavor was off the charts. Vegan options too! Drive through as well!? Beam me up, I will be here often! I think the owner was the person working? This place just off state st is an absolute gem! My boyfriend and I found it while driving by one time and decided to give it a go. It is safe to say it is now our favorite place! The service was immaculate and the Italian ice and sodas are to die for. The place deserves all the stars it can get! I can't wait to go back almost every week to try everything that they offer, especially the little bites and dole whip! I am Hawaiian and they even have a flavor called Haleakala Sunrise! So cool! I think Mike & Julie might be my favorite people for bringing Italian ice to the valley :) Their store is so clean & cute with indoor dining featuring an adorable toddler sized table I got a medium Cold Fusion with Tiger's Blood Italian ice (strawberry, coconut & watermelon mixed together) & it was delicious! Layered between the creamiest vanilla custard on top & bottom, such a sweet treat! My bf got a large Cold Fusion with Haleakala (pronounced hall-uh call-uh) Sunrise Italian ice (mango, orange & peach mixed together) & even though he loved it, he had plenty to save for later. Portions are generous & fairly priced. The staff is friendly & sweet as their desserts! We also shared the Oreo Krispe Treat - the crushed Oreos & mini marshmallows made it extra chewy & yummy we're big fans! read more

We are the only Italian Ice Shop in the Treasure Valley area. We have 20-24 different flavors daily. We make all of our ices in house daily. We also carry soft serve custard and Dole Whip. To go along with our ice and custard we have pretzels, pretzel bites, churro donuts, Krispy treats, cookies, and other baked goods (selection varies daily).

To start, I tried the Pickletini. As a fan of pickle-forward drinks, I found it "not bad"--a solid choice if you enjoy that briny profile. My fiancé opted for the All Ways Down Double IPA flight. At 9% ABV, it was a heavy hitter, but he really enjoyed the intense hop aroma and flavor provided by the Cryo Hops. For my main, I ordered the TNT Sando (Tri-Tip with bacon jam and garlic aioli) on Gaston's grilled focaccia. I requested it without pickles, and it was excellent. I paired it with the Black Bean and Veggie soup, which was a standout--perfectly delicious with a nice "zing" to it. Unfortunately, the meal hit a significant snag with my fiancé's Fish & Chips. The beer and cornmeal tempura batter was extremely thick (nearly 3/4 of an inch in some spots) and the fish was overcooked. Additionally, the blue cheese dressing on his side salad was very runny and tasted off. It was disappointing enough that we had to send it back. We replaced it with The Spicy Italian pizza. This was a total 180--it arrived looking beautiful, and the combination of the meats, pepperoncinis, and hot honey was absolutely delicious. Our server, Casey P., was generally good and attentive, though we did have to wait to start our meal because we weren't initially provided with napkins or silverware. A minor note on the atmosphere: the table we were seated at had "gay" carved into the wood, which felt a bit out of place for the professional vibe of the rest of the establishment. Overall, the TNT Sando, the pizza, and the beers are worth coming back for, but the kitchen consistency on the fried items definitely needs some work.

I had the Donor Kebab this time because I hadn't tried it yet and I have been missing out. It was really good! The mixed meat was on point and cooked just right. The veggie combinations were different then what I'm used to with kebabs but it worked really well. They had red cabbage, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and pepperoncinis. The pita was wrapped in a thin, yet thick enough wrap to hold it all together and it was a perfect compliment to this Kebab! You can also never go wrong with any sausages, bratwurst or bologna. I like that they don't have a huge menu because everything you get is quality ingredients made with care. Did I mention beer? They have a multitude of glasses and form factors to pour into. The owners and employees have been consistently very kind and helpful with any questions I have about the market or restaurant since the beginning. Speaking of the market, they have always had great and fair prices with their imported items and its one of the only places in town that has quality European dark chocolates. I checked reviews and the menu on here and was torn between a Reuben and a schnitzel sandwich. I went with the schnitzel and it is a five star sandwich for sure. Pounded incredibly thin with a crispy seasoned breading and on a fresh crusty bun. Honestly I miss that sandwich. Next time, we will see how the Reuben compares! I'm never coming to Boise again without hitting das Alpenhaus.

The seasoning in the brats was perfectly balanced. The Schnitzel was the best I have ever had. It was not the paper-thin variety you are probably used to while also being juicy and crispy at the same time. Great job chef. We ate outside and there was plenty of room for the kids to run around while we waited for the food which was severed in a reasonable time and with very friendly and attentive staff. Now the food, absolute highlight! The Beer Schnitzel was amazing, one of the best I'd ever had in the U.S.! The beer itself was fantastic and tasted just like were in Germany and the cherry on top was the Apple Strudel which was a perfect blend of crispy and sweet. Will DEFINITELY be back in our next visit to Boise and highly, highly recommend! One of my new favorite restaurants in town!

We were craving a quick sweet treat and stumbled upon this spot- definitely a great find! They have super convenient drive-thru service and impressively long hours, even in the winter. Their Italian ice has a wonderfully smooth, buttery texture, and the Strawberry POG flavor was a standout. The Cold Fusion, a creamy custard layered with Italian ice, is a fantastic indulgence, especially with the Mango flavor. Overall, it's really reasonably priced, and the service is friendly. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! read more

The ice cream was very creamy and very good and homemade. The beer came out of the tap very cold. The server was very friendly and helpful in letting us sample different ice creams and she was quick to serve us. The atmosphere was welcoming with indoor and outdoor seating. Very clean and open space. For the quality of the ice cream their prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed the Huckleberry flavor the best.. This place is well worth visiting.

It was almost as if there was no flavor at all. Yes, this place will remain popular for a while because our town has been yearning for a quality ice cream shop since Scoops closed. I hope they maintain this kind of service. It was delightful to be greeted that way. I saw that they had pistachio last week which caught my eye! So, of course I had to have it today! I did ask for a sample just in case. It was delicious so I grabbed a kiddie pistachio and chocolate mix. My sweet niece got a kiddie strawberry with brownie pieces. The tables were actually full when we were ordering. We must have came in at the right time cause quite a few tables opened up after we paid. We got a little table by all the merch.
