I have read reviews about this restaurant and decided to try it this afternoon after going to an event at Expo Idaho. The restaurant was clean, the staff were friendly. I ordered the #1 combo, which was the double cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. The food was fresh, the burger was good, but I wish it was seasoned a little better. The french fries were crispy and I had a side of fry sauce. They were good and the meal was hardy. I would like to try more menu items and possibly give the place a higher rating. If you are in Garden City, this is a good place to eat so I'd recommend you try it. read more

Husband suggested Big Bun for dinner tonight so of course I said yes. The last time I was there, it was still cold out so we sat in the main dining area. With it being warmer today, I was hoping the extended area was going to have it's big garbage type windows open. Pulling up, I noticed that the big garage doors were open! It was a little chilly out but the sun was shining and beautiful. We walked in and placed our order with the sweet gal at the register. I grabbed a table facing the parking lot. You can feel a nice breeze going through the dining area. It was a little chilly but I'm looking forward to when it's a little warmer out sitting in the same spot. For dinner we ordered a bunch of fun things. My husband grabbed the McCafferty sandwich and a raspberry/blackberrymilkshake. I got some mozzarella sticks, a homemade corndog and a cherry lemonade. I enjoyed the batter on the mozzarella sticks and corndog. It was night and airy! The cheese pull on the mozzarella sticks was great! My corndog was fried to perfection. I loved that the cherry lemonade had pieces of cherry in it. It wasn't grenadine syrup that most places use. I did have a little of the shake. It was so good! It was very thick and had bits of berries in it. Everything was so good tonight. Happy we came here for dinner tonight. We got a good meal and we supported a local business. It was great to see other people out enjoying their food like we did. Looking forward to our future visit to Big Bun. read more

The new location on Chinden is a modern twist of the OG location on Overland. In lieu of a patio, the new location essentially has two dining rooms. The limited booth space and counter area where you place your order and the expanded or overflow dining room where the old Carl's Jr playground used to be. In this review we sat a booth that have a viewing of the front counter area and the expanded dining room. Let's be real here. This location has at least a 3x inside dining capacity instead of the Overland location but there's only one Drive Thru lane at the new location. I think the service is better at the OG location and that's not a knock at the new location. The service was excellent from the leader who was passing out shakes, and handing out the orders but the front counter team adjusting each others hair and the guy in all black chewing gum while working was a distraction for me. What I will say is this. The OG location is completely enclosed so it's hard as a customer to see what's going on versus the new location is completely open so there's no hiding. Everything can be seen from the front counter and the dining room. My impossible burger was great and I would say it seemed bigger than the OG location. My wife's chicken tenders were fresh and the oil used was not old. My mom's milkshake was in her words "damn good". In the end, we'll be back. It's closer for us and we've never had an issue with Big Bun quality or pricing. I will be looking forward to extended hours in Summer and having a vegan milkshake in the extended dining room perhaps with the garage door opened. Lastly, I would encourage the team to be aware that customers are watching and be cognizant of that. read more

My family and I enjoy big bun, The food is delicious and crispy. I always have to get some cheese curds when I come here for food. Their desserts are just as good!! This place was not bad. It was our first time getting Big Bun drive. We ordered double cheese burger meal and baldy bob meal with no lettuce and tomatoes. Fries were amazingly fresh, delicious, and crispy! Burgers were good as well, but it was quite heavy and a bit oily. The workers were nice and friendly. Very casual place. They have a drive thru. Found myself in Garden City past lunch time, so I popped in here for a burger. I have been to the Overland Rd location, but enjoyed this one much more just due to the building itself and the ease of the parking lot. I only got a cheeseburger, as I am not a big eater and I could barely finish this burger. Decent size patty in my opinion. The burger only comes with sauce and shredded lettuce, which gets a little mushy towards the last bites. I did miss more toppings like onions and pickles. $7 for the cheeseburger. The restaurant was clean, in fact one employee was out on the floor wiping tables and counters and straightening chairs. The patio room is very cool, as it can be totally enclosed in inclement weather or give an open air patio feel if the two glass garage doors are rolled up. Dogs are welcome in this space. I enjoyed my burger here and wouldn't hesitate to go back, just missed some of those extra basic burger toppings. I gave it 4 stars, but it was more like 3.5 stars for me. read more

I stopped by Big Bun Drive-In on Glenwood. I ordered a classic cheeseburger through the drive through. The young lady at the cashier was super nice, so big points for friendly service. The total came to $8.91, including a $1.50 tip, which felt a little high for what I got. From the time I ordered, it took about 6 minutes to get my food. The burger was definitely fresh, but it just didn't deliver on flavor--there wasn't enough seasoning, and the generous amount of special sauce made it a bit of a wet sandwich. The bun was soft, but more on the squishy side, which didn't hold up well with all that sauce. By the time I opened the bag (about 3 minutes after getting it), I could tell it wanted to be a great burger, but between the lack of seasoning and soggy bun, it ended up being just okay. I tried Big Bun Drive-in since I had heard it was new to Garden City and that their burgers were good. I ordered the #2 Bacon Cheeseburger Combo Meal. I chose to try the tots as my side and the meal came with a drink. The burger was flavorful and decent sized, larger than most fast food franchises. The portion of tots was generous. The drive thru had a line around 1140 am, but it moved quickly. I found the restaurant staff to be cheerful and very efficient. If I have a craving for fast food I'll definitely head back to Big Bun Drive-in. Tip: Definitely check out the menu online since Big Bun Drive-in has a variety of great option and they can't all fit on the drive thru menu!!!! read more

First time going to Big Buns, went on Monday to get the cheeseburger special which comes with the burger, choice of tater tot's or fries and a drink. Burger was tasty, I opted for the tater tots which were one of the best I have had, crunchy exterior with a soft potato interior. Will have to make another visit to sample the fries. The staff were fast, friendly and efficient. I would recommend as this is a longtime burger joint in Boise with a couple locations, a local favorite. Please note, they only have a drive thru, hence the name, but they have ample parking once you exit the drive thru to park and eat what your ordered. read more

Love this place! We eat it every week at home. First time eating inside - fun vibes for the most part. Bathrooms need a REMODEL. How can you have such a modern indoor/outdoor seating, granite looking table, and then have restroom stalls that have awkward gaps in them? Would eat here again. I didn't realize I had to pay extra to get tomato and onion on my cheese burger. I feel like those are standard on a burger. Way too much sauce. I read that they hand make their burgers, but this burger seemed perfectly round and extremely dense like the premade discs you buy at the grocery store. I could not taste any seasoning except salt. I just went and ordered dinner paid $58. I ordered a number one, which is the double cheeseburger, tater tots and a Coke and two number tens, which is the fish basket dinner when I finally get my dinner. It was totally the wrong order so I asked if I could just return everything. They then offered me to keep the food and they would go get me fish and some onion rings so it would be basically my meal being put together. It took a little bit to get the fish and onion rings by the time I got home the fries, tater tots are not edible, and the fish is not cooked all the way through and the wet batter is so soggy inside it's disgusting so basically I paid almost $60 for no food.
