Marilyn's cupcakes are delicious and flavorful. If you sit with her for just 5 min you'll understand the love she has for baking. They're healthier too so you feel less guilty and not as heavy as your usual cupcake. She's got something for everyone too...vegan, kosher, or regular. The website says they open at 9:30. The door said they open at 10am. The lady didn't stroll in till 10:15 am , texting on her phone, she never even acknowledged I was sitting there waiting. I walked in and now she was talking on her cell phone while I stand there waiting. I ask if they had cupcakes....she said we have some left from yesterday....about 9 or so. The price was the same. Unprofessional is what I'll start off this sentence with! Location looked like I stepped into a swap shop in Hialeah. Went to use the bathroom and almost threw up. Purchased 2 dozen for the office and home for Mother's Day. I thought these cupcakes were DRRRYY and so did my co-workers and family. A coworker even mentioned the cupcakes I make are better and asked me why I hadn't baked them myself! The red velvet cupcakes had absolutely no flavor, overall I felt the flavors weren't rich enough. There was one cupcake flavor which had a potpourri looking garnish on top of it, and I actually got 2 inedible chunks of TWIG or something WTF was that? I really want to give this place more stars! After all of the positive reviews and research I decided to try this place and order a dozens cupcakes to celebrate birthdays while on our girls trip in Miami. The cupcakes arrived at 6:33 PM when they were scheduled to be delivered between 5-5:30 ( as we headed out for dinner) and when we finally made dinner and opened the cupcakes the flavors that were orders were not in the box and they tasted more like an off brand better Crocker box mix at best. I'm seriously disappointed and embarrassed as I tried to "surprise" my friends with a celebratory treat and the cupcakes became the running joke of the night. Every single person at the table felt bad about the $40 ( approximately) that I had spent. I'm humiliated, embarrassed, disappointed and upset. I love giving new places a chance but needless to say I will be requesting a full refund. I asked for 4 red velvet, 3 strawberry shortcake, 3 key lime 1 carrot and 1 strawberry cheesecake and NOT ONE person was pleased. The red velvet cupcakes were not in the box and we had 4 random cookies and cream ( or so it appeared but no one could identify the taste because they were black / chocolate). I would never do business with her again. Aside from her cupcakes not being worth their calories and pretty ordinary I could not get past her horrible attitude. She has been atrocious to do business with. I'm currently waiting 20 minutes for her to put together make shift cupcakes because she did not have my order ready for when I arrived even though the pick up time was previously discussed making me late for the event I am heading to. After she tells me the order is not done, offers no remorse except for telling me not to have an attitude with her when I am so obviously upset. She has had poor customer service since the start, I even contemplated forfeiting my Living Social coupon and accepting the money as a loss just to not deal with her. My friends make fun of me because I have a thing for cupcakes, but I say, "Nutella my bella!" Great location on the sand but watch out since they close at 5 so get there early. Some of these same friends who make fun of me are the "sensitive type" (you knwo who you are) so they get the gluten free cakes and I was curious at first about what they'd say.
