Okay so, a small backstory here: I had just moved into a new place with my wonderful girlfriend and we had ordered a washer/dryer combo from Home Depot. Home Depot COMPLETELY screwed up multiple times by failing to deliver the washer/dryer then when they did deliver, never had told us we needed the stacking kit to install these, despite us telling them we need a stacking washer/dryer for our home. Then, we finally have our parts and we schedule Home Depot's install - they just *cancel* our appointment, don't tell us. And the only solution they give us is "I don't know, go call places." At this point, we're two ladies living in a place without a washer/dryer for two weeks thanks to Home Depot's inability to book something correctly and that's absolutely not a great situation. So, we end up calling MNM. A quick phone call to the office and sharing our story with the absolutely wonderful and sweet lady in the office and we're on schedule for them to come by later that day!!! So Mike &....gosh I forget the other persons name but they arrive in their window and are super personable and unbelievably nice. They get everything installed quickly and cleanly, all while playing therapist and talking to me about my Home Depot trauma. They test everything to make sure all is working and head out. (They found and completely replaced a 40-year-old unique crank out window, with all the supporting framing all slutted out, and installed it perfectly! Mike from MNM Handyman Services could not have been more helpful when I really needed it. Completely went above & beyond, and saved me a lot of money on electrical work. For a little backstory: When some DIY electrical work replacing a ceiling light fixture went wrong, I was stuck without power in my kitchen, living room, or bathroom. I started calling electricians, handy-man services, Home Depot, and anyone else I could get on the line. Mike from MNM Handyman Services was the only person who took the time to listen to me over the phone, and immediately offered some safety tips that allowed me to at least restore power in the rest of my apartment without worrying about electrocuting myself. The very same day, he arrived at my door and took care of the problem. Turns out we were dealing with some pretty ancient wiring, so it wasn't the standard Black/White/Ground situation to connect the fixture. Mike quickly figured out exactly what needed to be done, and explained everything he was doing every step of the way (but of course reminded me never to do it myself unless I know what I'm doing... safety first). I called Mike regarding a window A/C installation on the 3rd floor of our townhouse. Mike and his helper Raul were both very professional. They came on time as agreed, read the instructions on the safety bracket for the A/C, then figured out a way to install the bracket and A/C safely despite our brick exterior (it would have been easier if our exterior was wood), while all the time being thoughtful about how to slant it slightly so that rainwater would not get into our window. He also made sure to remind me how to uninstall the window A/C when winter comes. Mike also helped us install a bathroom cabinet while he was here, and gave me pointers on what needs to be fixed around the house. I would definitely hire him again. He is thoughtful, thinks on his feet to make things work even if the settings are not ideal like in the instruction manual, and charges a reasonable rate. These guys are great. Our kitchen sink had been taken out by an ice dam that had fallen through our glass ceiling and was in dire need of repair. The first company I called came out and told me that they could repair the plumbing, but wouldn't attach the sink to the granite countertops- worst, was that they were going to charge over $1200. Enter MNM services, who not only reattached the sink to the countertop, but repaired all the plumbing and installed a new garbage disposal for less than half of the price that I was quoted by their competitor. Work was done a few months ago. After a couple of days, sink drain, Mnm installed, was leaking. It was not glued together....at all. They came to fix it a couple of days later. Few months later electrical outlet, Mnm installed, popped out. Left messages but Mnm never returned call. Lousy customer service and shoddy workmanship. Mike responded promptly to our inquiry and when we called, he quoted us a fair hourly rate given the prices in the Cambridge area. He showed up right on time with a team of three, and did a great job replacing our kitchen faucet and a broken ceiling light fixture. Mnm Handyman was very hard to get hold of by cell/phone, email, and web site. Mike, the person who I dealt with, never replied back to my messages in a timely fashion from those 3 contact media. I was only able to contact him via cell phone text message. Scheduling: First time to have them come by the house for an estimate - they "forgot their cell phone which had all their appointments". Ok. I had to reschedule work because they forgot. Workmanship: PVC drain pipe wasn't glued properly. Water leaked all over the floor. Had to contact him again, via text, and workmen came back again to reglue the pvc pipes. Cabinet doors were mounted a bit crooked. The doors rubbed against each other when closing and opening. Other work done was fine. Price wise: I thought it was a bit high. I tried calling other handymans who had better reviews on Yelp. They never contacted me back. I guess they were too busy. Handyman with worse reviews to Mnm did contact me but I had 2nd thoughts after reading their reviews here on Yelp. So Mnm Handyman was the best choice at the time. Would I hire Mnm again?
