    Morning coffee view!

GREAT PLACE! Great shop with healthy snack options, cute toys, lots of different cool souvenirs, and seltzers. They have fun activities for families, beautiful views in the morning and evening, clean bathrooms and showers (SHOUT OUT TO SHAWN/SEAN), friendly helpful staff, and just a comfortable clean vibe. Thank you to the staff at Moab KOA Holiday!

Just over the tip tops..... barely visible...... THATS the beautiful view we HAD a few years ago and now it's gone.

They're super nice and there's a pool and whatnot but now there are apartment buildings between the camp and the views! Just rolled in and to say the least we are disappointed. We won't be getting any of the beautiful pictures of sun reflecting on the cliffs. That's the only reason we came to this park. Oh well...... progress must I guess...... Other Han my visual letdown they've done SO much to this place. The slots are great and I like a bunch of stuff. We don't have time to swim but it looks amazing. The staff is super. AND I'll admit, if you walk around you can get great pictures, you just have to crop out the homes.......

Our campground with our firepit that we brought with us, but they do rent them as well.

We stayed here for two weeks on our spring escape working and playing on the road. I considered all the RV parks around Moab, but in the end, for the dates we wanted, KOA ended up having the site we needed. I'm honestly very glad it ended up that way, after being in town and seeing all the other options. First, the pool and hot tub area were fantastic. They had two fire pits, a hot tub that fit at least 14 people, and a beautiful pool that kids seemed to love. Every evening we went down and sat in the hot tub, which was fantastic. It felt like a high quality resort pool. Next, since we are on the road for weeks and weeks, we do laundry regularly. I liked this little laundry room, the machines were clean and newer, and they had a change machine. They even had one larger front loading machine that allowed me to clean my floormats. Our site was nice, we were sort of on the end where all the tent sites started, so it felt open and peaceful. Bathrooms were clean and totally functional. also, the WiFi was really good - better than most. Now, granted, we just use campground WiFi for our phones, so it isn't good enough to use to work. We have MIFI devices for that, and I will note, our T-Mobile hotspot worked perfectly here, as did our AT&T cell phones. The location is a bit out of town, but we didn't find this a problem, it was a quick 7 minute drive to the grocery store and town. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This has not been a favourite KOA for me. We camped here and the sites are plenty big enough with a wooden table and chairs including a small bbq fire place. We came here over 4th July weekend and the place was packed. Plenty of shade on our site during the early morning hours and late afternoon. The pool area was hopping and nice cool down from the unrelenting heat-remember the sunscreen and water! My biggest moan is the bathrooms-they say they are cleaned periodically but every time I used them, they were so dirty and gross. I understand it's a busy weekend but maybe up the times you clean it? Just a thought. KOA is definitely a firm favourite for many people including me. Check them out for yourself.

This is a large KOA conveniently located right off the main highway, US-191. The sites and roads in the park are gravel with most of the sites being pull through. There are a large number of tent and cabin sites around the edges of the park. The park has a nice pool area that was popular during our stay, clean bathrooms and showers and an off leash dog run area for our four legged friends. The wifi only worked occasionally. As with most KOA parks, the price is a little higher than it should be, but you get the peace of mind of knowing that the campground will almost always be in good shape. I wasn't sure what to expect from a KOA but I loved how they take you to the site so you know where you are at. I was a bit disappointed being so close to our neighbors during COVID. I wasn't expecting it to be so busy with so many kids. I didn't feel like there was a lot of social distancing. We had trouble leveling the RV. It was nice to have a designated dog path except kids were riding their dirt bikes on it and we kept having to move out of the way. Got woken up early in the am from the kids next to us. Sprint and T-Mobile work well there. I loved being on an end lot, however the huge tree caused us not to be able to put the awning out. Picnic tables could be replaced they were a bit run down.

Pool was nice, our campsite was nice and clean, and the staff were friendly. Shoutout Randy, he jumped our car when our battery died.

It was cheaper than getting a hotel in town and sounded more adventurous. We were sold on having a bathhouse with a shower and flush toilets. There is also a sink to do dishes in and outlets to charge your electrical devices. The nice that is that the campground is right off the main road if you need to pick up anything or want to eat out instead of cooking your own food. Up the Creek Campground has 16 tent-only sites that are nestled within a grove of large shade trees. I was a little worried about noise because this place was a few blocks from the main road. But everything was surprisingly very peaceful for us. The best part about this place was being a short drive from both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. There are also grilling stations and a couple patio games like Corn Hole games here at Up the Creek. The only bummer during our time here was a major rain storm that passed by one day. It rained hard for hours that day. Up the Creek Campground offers sensible weather coverage per day if it rains over 1.5 mm per hour for over 2 hours during day time hours. I appreciated the refund for that day because we had to take shelter in our tent all day. Great place if you don't mind camping. You can walk-up or book ahead of time.

The 3rd Grill was across camp in another person area at 9:30pm. Meals ruined now. Have fun finding food at this hour. Shouldn't mention a Creek that you can't see or access. Couldn't believe how many Triggers I got attacked by! Moved down by the Colorado River, didn't have that issue? The table that is Covered in Tree Ooze, that they can't seem to just move to eliminate the issue. Or maybe as they text me about the Propane issue; they will get to it tomorrow. Not a Happy Camper! Especially since I got charged for a night I wasn't there! At least there was a Shower? And the other Travelers! That's it!

We stayed here two nights and slept terribly. Even with the free earplugs, we couldn't get a good nights sleep. Everything is so close together you also have no space from your neighbors. When we arrived someone else was encroaching in our site. The shared kitchen and bathroom facilities are nice, hence the 2 instead of 1 star.

The mattresses are what you'd expect for staying off somewhere, not too hard but not too soft. We brought our own pillows so I can't speak to those. The bathroom has hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We didn't use the community areas, but the setup looks great and it has a grill. Cons: Cleanliness is lacking, there are cobwebs throughout. The floor needs a good vacuuming and a heavy mopping done. It looks like only spot cleaning is done when guests leave the property. Seeing the lack of cleanliness made me question if our sheets had actually been washed and that's a gross feeling. The bath tub has no stopper, but using a wash rag worked just fine. The hot water is lacking. A quarter of the way filling the tub the water turned cold, and it took a good 45 minutes for the water to heat back up. With three people needing to bathe/shower, it was problematic and very disappointing after a long day of being out in Arches N.P. Be sure to watch a YouTube video on the Hamilton Beach Brew Station coffee pot before using or you will have watered down cold coffee. Unfortunately, I did this after making our coffee, and wasted the coffee grounds and collagen powder I had brought. There is a lot of road noise, so if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs. I don't think we will be back here again for the price we paid.

The women's bathroom was just unreal how gross it was. I truly think the only thing the staff did daily was empty the trash and refill toilet paper and one of the two paper towel dispensers. Never once cleaned or attempted to clean any of the three showers, sinks or toilet's. The little store they have closed nightly at 7, sometimes sooner. Which really wasn't convenient if you wanted a treat after dinner like an ice cream or adult beverage. You really have to plan ahead. We just went to town, but would have rather supported the camp ground and stayed there. Overall - this could be an AMAZING place. Just needs more staff, and a little more TLC- We would go back if we heard of improvements.

Horsethief Campground is run by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Their mission is "To sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations." I did copy their mission from their website, FYI. Horsethief caught our eye online immediately. Though it did not have any running water offered, it was open during the winter. It also had toilets on site, which was a win for us. We decided to drive to Horsetheif and check it out. They offer both campsites and RV sites, but with no hook ups. All sites are first come, first serve. Which was also fine with us, because again, we were planning on camping during the winter, during a time when they had just had a good amount of snowfall. I was told that it was an unseasonable amount for that area at this time. As we drove we made note of how close the campground was to both Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. We were planning on visiting both parks, so this seemed ideal. When we pulled in, (and do not blink, you can easily miss the entrance), we knew we found our campground. It was breath taking. The area was spectacular. It was covered with pristine snow and had Pinyon trees all around. It was like we were the only people there, we felt so secluded and protected. We picked tent site 25 and it could not have been more perfect. When we stay at Horsethief again we will aim to get the same site. It was close enough to the bathroom and yet hidden. I fell in love with our site and that campground in the short time we were there. The cost is $20 per night for tent sites and you need to bring exact cash. You simply put your cash in the provided envelopes and drop it in the drop box. When we visited there were no pens/pencils, and we did not travel with any, but I hope they know that we were the ones that paid. Please if you stay a night at Horsethief, please pay your fee, the money goes directly to the BLM and that is how they support taking care of their land. It was magnificent and I can not wait to return.
