And, her connections and understanding of people are well-suited for her profession. Without a doubt though, her standout strengths are her tenacity, assertiveness, and client-oriented advocacy. We hired Moana Belle and started planning an elaborate destination wedding nine months before the COVID-19 crisis. We selected a place with special meaning to us, and proceeded to invest time and money as we worked with Lena to carefully curate a once-in-a-lifetime experience for 64 of our friends and family. Throughout that time, Lena and Moana Belle were great. They understood our style and priorities. Their planning and personalized recommendations demonstrated a spot-on understanding of us, our venue, and of tasteful design. Their coordination with our venue and vendors was seamless. Their communication was well-balanced and organized. And as I later learned, Lena frequently went to bat for us behind the scenes. After us and most of our guests arrived in Hawaii, and after nine months of painstaking planning, panic began to grip the nation. Against a backdrop that shifted by the minute, we were forced to make impossible decisions. But Lena was there for us every second. She stood by our side as vendors and venues were all over the board; their decision-making ran the gamut from thoughtful and interactive to frantic and opaque--often changing by the hour. An event we had all spent months meticulously planning was entirely upended. And a significant sum of money was at risk of being completely lost. On the fly, Lena helped us plan an entirely new wedding--only to plan another one or two after that. I like to equate her work as that of a chess master crushing a game while the chessboard constantly moved and the pieces simultaneously transformed. She poured every ounce of herself into saving our wedding. Her ingenuity and perseverance were beyond remarkable. We had an amazing wedding on Kauai last year, and everyone who was involved with our wedding planning or attended the wedding absolutely loved Moana Events Team. We still wish we could get married again so we can work with them. Not only Moana has the best tastes, they're so sweet and caring and dedicated to support brides (and grooms) for our big days. We started the planning little early so got to work with the team for over 1 year and the process was so enjoyable, creative and detailed oriented. Morgan nicely agreed to get on regular calls to check in even with 18 hours time difference back then, and Jennifer and Kayleigh were always quick and thorough on remote communications. If you're planning a wedding in Maui, there is simply no other choice than Moana Belle Events -- period, the end. Do yourself a favor and immediately set up a call with one of their trusted planners: in my case, Lena Teboul.   Before we set a wedding date and toyed with the idea of getting married in Maui, I received a tip from a local hotel in Wailea that Lena was incredible and a popular choice amongst their brides. I sent her a haphazard email, not really expecting much, and within moments, she facilitated a call with me to get to know me and my wedding vision better. We instantly clicked over mutual interests, but more importantly, she had the kindest disposition. Lena was laidback but super excited and energetic about my ideas. It was a no brainer: we immediately planned a trip to Maui to visit venues and set up a meeting with her. The moment Lena came to the hotel my now-husband and I were staying at, it was instant professionalism. She brought her laptop and came with thoughts and ideas about how to make our dream wedding a reality -- mind you, this was before we had even hired her. Being a true LA girl, Lena knew exactly how to execute my vision of doing a glamorous ballroom wedding OUTSIDE in Maui. Totally bananas and left of center, but my oh my, she pulled it off X100000.  During the planning process, which was all done remotely over phone and email, Lena delivered many options for each vendor, set up meetings and phone calls, and held my hand every step of the way (but NEVER overstepped boundaries: she knows this is YOUR day). Lena supported every crazy idea I had and found ways to creatively make them happen, from finding live instrumentalists to sparkler fountains and even a custom open-air tent that was built from scratch. Moreover, because I'm not from Maui, Lena's expertise in the weather and venue we selected was a true game-changer. She knew exactly how to time sunset photos, where to take breathtaking photos in secluded spots, and guide our decor choices along the way (ie: it gets breezy by the sea, so you may want to consider lower centerpieces so they don't blow over). After weekly conference calls and lots of detailed planning, it was time to come to Maui and enjoy wedding week. Lena's team was INCREDIBLE, handling our dry cleaning needs and welcome bag distribution. The fact that Moana Belle goes above and beyond to not only assist with your wedding, but all those little extra touches, puts them a cut above the rest. The day of the wedding is where Lena's true magic really shines: she is your eyes, ears, brain, therapist, friend, confidante and overall queen of making dreams come true.  Because of Lena, the only responsibility I had was to ENJOY and have fun. We got married at Kualoa Ranch in Oahu and it was the wedding of our dreams! I had a vision in my head and it came to life thanks to Moana Events. After searching high and low to find wedding coordinators who fit our style, budget, and who I felt a connection with, we finally ended up with Moana Events. It was the best decision and although my husband was somewhat wary because of the cost (in general of wedding coordination), he now says it was our best investment. They had worked many events at our venue in Kauai so we felt comfortable hiring them, even if we didn't get to meet them in person. We were able to hire Moana for short term & day of coordination so our communication with them did not ramp up until then. At the same time, if I was really stuck on a particular area and having trouble finding a vendor, Morgan was quick to respond with a name. All communication was extremely professional (occasionally, almost overly so) and completely opposite of what I had heard of with "Hawaiian" time! You can tell they take their professionalism seriously and were incredibly organized, using many online tools that were convenient for me. Although I was feeling a bit apprehensive before the wedding, staring with our rehearsal, they showed me why Moana was such a great team of folks. From the moment I actually met her, Morgan settled my nerves and made me feel like she was entirely present with me. She was warm, friendly and incredibly organized. I know my family is a little bit crazy but she did a great job settling their nerves as well and providing wonderful customer service. When we arrived to cocktail hour, it blew my mind how perfectly they had read my mind. After planning a wedding long distance for a year, I just kind of shoved all my decorations at them and said, "Here you go!" Everything was decorated beautifully and I could've cried tears of joy with how wonderfully it all worked out. During the reception, Morgan and Amber were constantly buzzing around, making sure everything was ready to go (I'm assuming) and make sure the bride & groom were happy. I was never without a drink, a smile, and never had to think about anything except having a wonderful time! THE BEST. Will hire again (and again). Morgan, Jenn, and the Moana Events team planned our entire 4-day wedding weekend for 150 guests at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on Big Island, which included welcome cocktails, an authentic Luau/Rehearsal Dinner, the Wedding Day, as well as a goodbye brunch. I had an absolutely wonderful stress-free experience planning our wedding with the team (all planning was done long-distance from CA). Besides being super patient and kind - every member of the team is SO organized, they have the best taste, and Morgan is great at listening to your ideas/wishes and making them a reality. They also have amazing relationships with an endless list of impressive vendors. It was important for me to have all of the events at the hotel so guests could enjoy their vacation without having to worry about transportation - and the ME team was able to create 4 intimate, private, unique events without any food/drinks/decor feeling repetitive. I was truly able to enjoy the entire weekend without any stress about logistics. When unexpected rain was on the forecast for the outdoor rehearsal dinner, I asked what the plan would be, and Morgan and team already had a clear top tent on its way to the venue. Morgan came up with a design for an entire ceiling of hanging white orchids in our wedding tent - and I still dream about it. When my husband and I got engaged last year we knew we'd need an excellent wedding planning team. We were living on opposite coasts at the time and decided to have our wedding in Hawaii. We searched for the best and found it with Moana Events. They were flawless from the very beginning when we had our first consultation to post wedding day! How do we know who to hire for our wedding (ex: florist, makeup, band, etc.). Moana Events took care of all of that for us by first providing multiple options for each category that we could choose from based on our taste and style. That's certainly a strength about this team - they create a day for you that is YOURS. They want to have the environment fit the type of atmosphere you want to have. If you're wondering about quality, don't worry about that with Moana Events. They are top-notch when it comes to choosing decor, where pretty much everything they place before you exudes elegance and a very sophisticated and high-end wedding. When it came to the wedding day I was at TOTAL ease. They took care of everything for us and everything went on time. I felt like I had my own personal assistants at the wedding that made me feel like a queen; and the guests noticed because they can see the team walking around with professional headsets. I had a guest mention to me that they felt like they were at a celebrity wedding. At the end of the when night it was all said and done, I could not be happier with our wedding team. They cleaned up the venue and gathered everything that would be sentimental to us from the day and placed it in a box (ex: our dinner menus, table numbers, gift envelopes, etc.). Working with Morgan and Amber at Moana Events was, by far, the BEST decision we made for our wedding! I don't even know where to begin in expressing my gratitude to them. Living on the East coast and finding a good wedding planner in Kauai without recommendations is a tough feat! Trust me, you want (need!) a planner for a destination wedding! I didn't want to work with an impersonal international company, and didn't want a "hawaiian wedding package". Weddings are personal, so I wanted my planner be personal and involved. I came across Moana on Pinterest when I realized I was pinning all of their photos to my board! Ta Da- MORGAN! This woman has got it figured out- to be able to handle both my husband and I at the same time is a very special type of person. Morgan met with us in Kauai and immediately just got it. She got us! Morgan is tough when she needs to be, she's very honest with you, and she knows how to get things done. While Morgan will humor everyone else involved in the wedding planning process, at the end of the day her brides are priority #1. While I know I was the easiest bride they've ever had (pause for a grin), the venue I selected certainly wasn't! Instead of the regular well-groomed wedding locations in Kauai, we asked Moana to plan our wedding at a construction site! I think my exact question was "But can you also make it look as beautiful as all the photos I see from your other weddings?"AND DID THEY EVER! If you are getting married in Hawaii, you will not find more professional, creative, high quality wedding "producers." These women are truly extraordinary -- working with you to understand your expectations, and then surpassing them at every turn. We live in New York and we knew we wanted to get married on the North Shore of Oahu. We had worked with another planner for several months and for whatever reason, (about 2 months prior to the wedding date) the planner was unable to fulfill his obligations. We knew we needed super high quality, reliable, experienced professionals to take over. Luckily, we found Moana Events. Morgan, Meaghan and their team are truly exceptional. They know every venue, every vendor, and everything you are looking for, even before you know you're looking for it. They managed all of our vendors flawlessly, which makes you feel more confident that you are paying a fair price and ensuring that you hear back from the vendors in as timely a manner as feasible (Moana is the perfect translator between New York time and "island time" -- we wouldn't have survived this without them!) Most importantly, they literally created the perfect event (cheesy, but true) and worked hard to ensure that the couple enjoys it. The ceremony site was honestly magical. When we arrived to walk down the aisle, we were literally speechless -- we could not have imagined it to look so stunning. They chose a florist who designed the most gorgeously dressed arch we had ever seen. They selected a ukulele player who sounded wonderful, and they seamlessly guided our guests and wedding party so everyone was happy and in the correct spot. Our reception was spectacular. One of our guests said that something so perfect could have only come from a book, because a scene so beautiful could only take place in your imagination. The lighting, the table settings, the canopies, the dance floor -- there was no detail left to chance. Truly amazing. To top it all off, the ladies offered to help us economically transform a casual beach restaurant into our rehearsal dinner "Welcome Luau." They designed wonderful table settings with family photographs, pineapples, and kitchy (but tasteful) tiki figurines. It was very impressive. Honestly, I can't say enough about Moana Events. With a life event as important as our wedding, all I can say is that I am grateful we placed our trust into their very capable hands. read more

This review is long overdue but Morgan and her team were amazing! They totally understood our aesthetic and made everything a breeze even though we were living in Tokyo while trying to plan the wedding in Hawaii. We wanted our wedding to feel like a warm "local" wedding, which meant tons of our family and friends, but Morgan still managed to find the perfect venue that not only accommodated all our guests but also had the garden wedding look that we were going for. They were also really great about taking care of the details. We dropped off our stuff with Morgan the night before and were able to completely focus on our time with family and friends rather than worry about last minute details. Like many going through the process, we had no idea how to go about planning a wedding and what to expect. Morgan and Meaghan walk you through this process and have what we called their "little homework assignments" throughout planning period. They advised us on what we definitely needed to get, what we could do without, where they would advise splurging, and where they would advise cutting corners. I also found it very helpful that they create an ongoing shared online notebook which is organized with all deadlines, all records, all planning, to-do/pending lists, etc, accessible by the four of us. It was so organized. My Type A personality loved it. On the day of our wedding, Morgan and Meaghan buzzed around everywhere unseen (they must be wizards) while popping up intermittently to make sure we were in the right place for the ceremony, to make sure that the mikes were passed for toasts, to make sure we ate and stayed hydrated on our wedding day, and to remind us to cut the cake. If there were any problems, we didn't know anything about it. Everything flowed naturally like magic and my husband and I just relaxed and soaked it all in. Morgan kicks butt! I hired Morgan for a high profile corporate event with the Governor and other dignitaries in attendance. She went above and beyond to deliver an exceptional event. I had multiple people tell me how they couldn't believe how well we organized everything and how it went like clockwork. There were some complex elements to consider (odd layout in an industrial area for a semi-fancy event, outer island) not to mention I threw her several curve balls right before the event. But she and her right hand Meaghan Koski handled them all like professionals and got the job done. They were organized and very responsive to my concerns.
