I moved to Austin recently and during the really cold weather earlier this, I thought it was a good time to take the bike in for the Annual Service & Cleaning. I've always been happy when taking my bike in to a Specialized store for service... but this is an entirely different level of customer service! First, no need to call. Just book it entirely online (my preference). I filled out the information online and for the remainder of the scheduling, it was all done via text. They are very accommodating and it was easy to get an appointment to bring my bike in. The repair shop is located at a different location but they really go that extra special touch. When you arrive, just text them and a service person will come out to your car and pick up the bike. No waiting, no extra paper work to fill out. Literally hand it over to them and you are on your way! Now, as I said, I've always been pleased with repairs/service from Specialized store, but generally you are going to wait some time. Being this is Austin, and I'm sure others had the same idea given the weather, I had anticipated a few weeks to get my bike back. But instead it was only a few days! When they contacted me, I thought it was to tell me they discovered something that needed replacing, but instead, it was just to pick up the bike. Payment online is a breeze so again, just had to pull, text and someone brought the bike out to my car. It's like the Ritz Carlton of bike shops! My bike as good as the first day I purchased it. That is until months later when I took a spill. Just not paying attention while riding; I noticed the gears not shifting as smoothly so I knew exactly who to take it to! Again, getting an appointment was as easy as the next day! After dropping the bike off, it wasn't long before I received a call and fortunately, it was something pretty minor and I would be able to get my bike the next day! I don't live in Austin, but it's worth the drive for the quality of work they do and their professionalism. Certainly they work on other bike brands, but if you own a Specialized (or any other bike) you won't ever regret bringing your bike here. Everything from the scheduling, the speed and quality of their work to the friendly staff, this is truly a Five Star business!

I've been into the store several times over the years for bike issues for my old road bike and now…read morefor my new road bike as well as my husband's bikes. They tuned my road bike a few years ago for a triathlon and did a great job. I recently got a new bike and was very excited to ride it but wanted to do a safety bike check first. They were busy and so was everyone else so I ended up going to another store that was able to squeeze me in for a bike check for $100. This other store did a fine job checking my bike but my shifters were still messed up when I rode it. Obviously my fault for being impatient. This other store was going to charge me another $60-$90 to fix the shifters and another $200-$300 for new tires, including installation. So I ended up going back to Clown dog - and should've waited and gone there instead to begin with. They did a great job consulting me on tire options and have access to order a variety of tires and it cost me only a fraction for installation and to tune my shifters. Solid. I'm a happy customer and they have become our go to store for all of our bike needs. This place is a gem.
