In my recent dealings with Optimum, I had two very different experiences with customer service on…read morethe phone and with the representative in the Edison, NJ store. 1) PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE - 1/5 stars. This was a very bizarre and unsettling sequence of events. I called to change my Internet and TV to a different package. I was quoted $140 for this specific package, but informed that the price could not be changed until I visited the store and returned my cable boxes to exchange for a streaming box. Seemed simple enough. When I got to the store, I was informed that I also needed to bring my internet router for exchange, because the current one was not compatible with the new package. I drove all the way home, secured my router, and brought it back to the store for exchange. When I called customer service at the store for them to change to the $140 package, I was informed that that was the correct price, but the change would only be made after I installed the devices at home and called them back. I followed these instructions. The streaming device installation went smoothly, but the router I was given was an incorrect router. After hours on the phone with IT and customer service, I was told I would have to go back to the store and get a different router. This was the third time I was heading back to the store in the same day. I went back, got the correct router, and brought it home for installation. After everything seemed perfectly installed, I called customer service to change the price to the previously quoted $140 package. This is when things started to get beyond frustrating. I was told that there was no such package and that there were no notes on my account depicting these discussions. How could this be possible? I had just been in the store with a representative, who heard the $140 quote and quoted me the same in person. Now, after following all of the instructions, visiting the store multiple times, spending hours on the phone, I was being told that this deal no longer existed? I decided to take a break and call Optimum the next day because it was too stressful. The next day, upon calling I continued getting told that the deal did not exist. Very frustrating and unprofessional experience. Felt completely like a bait and switch situation- "do this and you'll get this price" but then you do what is asked, and Optimum doesn't follow through. Horrible!!! 2) IN STORE EXPERIENCE - 5/5 stars. Andres P. at the Edison, NJ store was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive from the start. He calmly guided me through the steps, and when things started to go awry, he told me he could assist speaking to customer service and would have my back. He had plenty of notes documented on my account and confirmed everything I had shared to customer service. Andres really knows how to deal with clients. He is thorough and makes you feel like he really cares. I am 100% sure that if it wasn't for his help, the deal would not have been pushed through. He verified everything and stood by my side on the phone when explaining the situation to customer service. Thank you so much to Andres P. for his dedication!!!

She just answered to my questions and was not really willing to share any additional info. What was awkward being around in the store during this transaction was the silly argument she and another store associate who complained about not being able to go for lunch and how he was starving as he couldn't leave for lunch until she did. They just couldn't stop the mud-slinging at each other until a customer left. Wish I had gone at a different time and not been a spectator of their nice lunch debate.

I've been in this Tmobile location several times in the past and received good service - prompt…read moregreeting and acknowledgement even if the staff was busy, and and true effort to help me resolve whatever my issue, concern or goal was - whether it be problems with my phone, purchasing a new phone, etc. Today I stopped in only to purchase a phone charger. There were 3 reps/sales people there, all assisting other customers. I took my time picking out a charger, sat on the bench waiting for someone to finish up with customers to help me, ring the charger up, etc. Except no one ever even acknowledged my presence even while looking right at me. I put the charger back on the shelf and left. I said to one rep "I'm putting this back." Again, a blank stare with no words. I'll go to Walmart and buy one. Three stars for today's experience is generous, but as I stated, I've been here before and had better overall experience. I note that none of the familiar salespeople were there. Perhaps they've changed staff.

Want to share experience with this store wi the all of you. Went to get my T-Mobile screen…read moreprotector replacement that I paid for in August of 2022, which I have gotten a new one about 7 times at this specific store in the past two years with no issue. Spoke to Ibrahim that day and he said that I couldn't get the screen protector as it was put on another number on the account, which was odd in itself considering I never had an issue before. He said the only solution was to purchase a new one for $30, complete rip off and scam. Next trip I went because the T-Mobile insurance (assistant) said I could drop off the phone to the authorized retailer, so I decided to do that since I wanted a receipt that the phone was dropped off to them. Immediately, Shay gave me a direct attitude and told me that they don't do that there. We asked to speak to the store manager who was present at the time John E., he also said that they don't do that there and never has. Why are we lying to customers and giving bad referrals? Please don't ever treat people this way. Screenshot is attached of what the T-Mobile Protection 360 tells you to do with the phone. This is a corporate owned store, we did ask to speak to the District GM and was told no by John E. I do not expect an automated reply to this and expect better from any company overall.

The exchange was very professional. No arrogance or condescension, just clear comms on what my issue was and what they could do to resolve it. I vetted some other shops in the area as well. Linx 8 pricing was very reasonable in comparison. I believe a big part of that was the free diagnostic on my computer. In many other tech shops, a diagnostic, by itself, will run you upwards of $40 to $50. So that was already key indicators in terms of value add. Also, the work they do on your computer is automatically covered under warranty, so that was reassuring as well. Full disclosure: at the time of writing this, I'm still having them trouble shoot an issue on a computer they worked on for me, but it's very minor. However, the original work they did for me was solid, and the customer service was top notch (very consumer-centric), which, in my experience, is key in these sorts of things. So, for all the reasons mentioned above, I'd definitely recommend giving them a go if you're having any computer issues. The owner, Ali, is also very understanding, and threw some stuff in free of charge to get the job done. If you go here, you'll likely get more value than you paid for.
