I've taken six vehicles to Certified for repairs over the last 10 years since moving to Oldham County. Since Steve sold the business a year or more ago, I was a little apprehensive to say the least because the service had been exceptional. Steve assured me I would get the same service from Nate, the new owner. There's been a huge turnover in the last year due to retirements, health issues etc. However, I still take my vehicles there because the service hasn't changed. Just as promised. The main replacement personnel are just as good or better. Honestly, integrity found there. They warrant their work! The two negative 1 Star reviews should be ignored. There must have been some miscommunication going on there in both those cases.

After they didn't call I reached EOD Monday and they said they would have a quote that afternoon but no call back. Called Tuesday and they said the same but they didn't Call back. Wednesday, AGAIN they said they would know by end of day but nothing. Finally Thursday they quote me $1000 to replace a module but ONLY after I asked did they tell me my car would work fine with a new battery. Then I was charges $500 for a battery because they spent hours "diagnosing" the car rather than just calling me to say "Your car is working fine with just a battery but we can spend hours diagnosing everything single thing so you can pay us more if you want." Before I get some reply to explain this away Certified Auto needs to communicate better about availability and the work you are doing. Bottom line: You can find better

They looked over my car first thing and gave me a call to discuss their recommendations. They started with the easiest and least expensive option to troubleshoot my problem, and did not try to sell me on thousands of dollars of things that might be the issue up front. It turns out, thankfully, the easiest solution worked, and I was able to pick up my car the same day. Few places, in my experience, provide this kind of conscientious service any more in the automotive industry. I am really grateful to have found them.

Man oh man, if it wasn't for this shop I would have been in a horrible place…read more Spent good money at another certain shop that is "Toyota specific" in Middletown. And they destroyed the studs on my exhaust manifold from a simple bolt on magnaflow exhaust that should have been no more than 2 hours and a few hundred dollars. It left that shop leaking and loose, right rear cat failed and magnaflow honored the warranty and shipped me a replacement. Brought it back to have them swap the part and fix the leak. It leaked even worse and the owner told me straight to my face that it was not leaking and it didn't fit perfect cause it wasn't OEM. I finally find Eric with performance automotive and come To find out he even used to work at ams, so he knows what he's doing for sure. After spending 3 hours removing the old stripped studs and putting in new hardware, the magnaflow exhaust all went into place perfect like an OEM part . Had some other parts that needed to go on before a trip back to California and when I went to drop off truck my alternator was showing signs it was going out. Got all the parts together and he managed to swap that, installed my traction bars, do my carrier bearing on my driveshaft, and airbag cradles. Truck drives perfect now and while his shop rate may be "high" to some people, he actually is working that full hour and doesn't just sit around. I'd rather pay more per hour and less hours and ensure it gets done than some of these other shops in the area that charge less per hour but bill you more hours and mess things up like what I experienced that he had to fix. Overall you get what you pay for and simply put, He's the only shop I would ever go to out there.

Surprised to see no reviews on here…read more Billy is one of the most trustworthy mechanics I've ever met. I wouldn't trust my vehicle with any other mechanic in town now. I met him when he was at his J-town location and I followed him to his Crestwood spot despite still living in J-town. He's not the cheapest in town because he only uses OEM parts and fluids. He's a big picture and long-term thinker when it comes to your vehicle, and would rather fix something well and have you not see him for anything other than standard maintenance, instead of making niceties to get your trust and then charging you a low price for shoddy repairs that keep you coming back. There are plenty of those around the Louisville area. Oldham County now has a fantastic mechanic - so get your appointments in! He's only one guy, so you have to plan sometimes 2-3 weeks in advance for appointments unless you're broken down. I'm not looking forward to leaving town and having to look for a new mechanic again.
