After 2 years, the engine developed a loud knock. Inspection by another shop found the timing belt disintegrating and the tensioner was failing. Calling Ken Towery's and referencing my previous work order number, they were unable to tell me what parts/manufacturer were used. When I stated a timing belt should last much longer than 2 years, they stated it was outside the warranty period and there was nothing they could do. After inspecting the parts they used, they appeared to be sub-OEM quality. Attached pictures show pieces of the timing belt as it was coming apart. Also, the wrong color anti-freeze was used for a Japanese vehicle. The front line staff is very friendly, as a positive.
