I have used Mobile Motorcycle Repairs of San Antonio quite a few times over the past 2 years. The service manager, Darren Steger, does an outstanding job of communicating promptly, including updates on arrival time, as well as giving accurate advance price quotes, sight unseen! I feel their prices are very reasonable and I've never had a "surprise" change in the price given. Greg is the guy who has come out every time. He knows his stuff, does a good job, and it's a real pleasure to deal with him. I've been amazed at the jobs he's done in my driveway - changing fork seals, fixing flat tire, etc. You can't beat the convenience of having your bikes fixed at your home. Had a great experience today with these guys. Had some seemingly catastrophic issues with my bike after taking it to another well known motorcycle dealer/ service center/BBQ joint here in town. These guys came with a questioning attitude and really sussed out the problems. After few moments tracing electrical wiring from front to back they found the Issue was that the initial work done had forgotten to reattach the positive terminal to the battery. A few hard laughs and a succes short test ride later these guys were off to their next job. These guys have better value, better attention ro detail and overall better customer service than any of the shops I have encountered before. Honestly I'm very glad I called these guys out and will definitely be calling them in the future should I need it. read more

I've called MMR before when I bought a bike that was DOA for a diagnosis. Both times Darren arrived on time and ready to work. Rates are competitive to other shops in San Antonio, but they conveniently come to you. This was ideal from me since I work long hours from home. Needed help getting a new set of tires put on since my rear tire was damaged. My driveway is on a hill, so I don't have a lift to do it myself, and since I was paying anyway, also had him swap out the clutch and throttle lines. The price is very fair for both jobs and I already had all the necessary parts. He went to work at the bottom of the driveway and let me know when he was done. Checked his work, and it was flawless. He was friendly and knowledgable. (Bike mechanics are usually either/or!) Couldn't be happier. read more

So, my bike's been sitting since COVID started. Part of that was due to stay at home orders, part of that due to my own inertness, especially after the vaccines came out. Tried starting it up a week or two ago, and of course I got smoke but no actual start and run, etc. Called MMR, and they came out to look at the situation and assist today. Started off doing the carb service I specifically hired them for, then spent the remainder of their time helping me diagnose the other issues my bike was having. (They weren't able to finish today, unfortunately, due to a part requirement, but it's easy enough that I can finish up that part myself when the part arrives this weekend.) For the cost of the call, I got: - Carbs looked at and cleaned as necessary (wasn't THAT necessary due to another problem, but I didn't know that at the time) - Airbox taken apart and diagnosed (I had a gasoline flood in my engine while the bike was sitting that overflowed the oil compartment, causing an oil/gas mix to get EVERYWHERE. This ironically is likely why the carbs were fine, as it lead to oil in the carbs.) - Oil flushed, filter removed, new filter installed, new oil added (my own oil and filter). - Diagnostics on why the gas had flooded (most likely cause is looking like a faulty petcock. I have a replacement arriving this weekend). - An explanation of how this caused the problem (I'm no slouch or idiot when it comes to my bike, but this explained things that helped me be confident about both preventing and understanding this issue and how to resolve it. - A detailed explanation of how to do the last part of diagnosis I originally wanted them to do, but could not due to the faulty part, so I can do so myself quickly and easily. Overall, even though they couldn't fully get my bike working today, the service was hands down excellent, and I'd definitely recommend them. In fact, the only reason I'm unlikely to have the opportunity to do so again myself is because I'm moving out of state in a few days, but if they ever follow me to NC, I'd definitely call them if I had any problems there too! read more

MMR came to Bulverde to fix my little Kawasaki Super Sherpa KL250. I was sidelined for a few months due to an injury and was not able to keep it running. It just needed a new battery, health check and minor carb clean, but I wanted it done professionally. My tech could not have been nicer and he had a lot of experience on these older carbureted dual sports. Fixed my bike at a VERY reasonable price. Couldn't be happier! Took My Vespa to the "certified Vespa dealership" 4x for the same problem! Over 1,000 $$ later found out that it was missing 1 of the 2 bolts that holds the engine in place. I'm beginning to think it's just a scam to receive free personal info if not then a good way to find out what type of bike you have and where it's at exactly so they might be stealing bikes or parts on the side I'd be safe and not give info like this out to anyone no matter what. Do not recommend these guys. Had a service person come out and now I'm paying more money to fix all his mistakes. The service guy never fixed the problem with my bike and told me I needed another part when he had no clue why it wasn't starting. Turns out he cut my gas line and never hooked it back up to the bike so now I have to replace it and then he told me he wasn't sure why the bike wouldn't turn on so he recommended that I buy a new CDI box so I payed for that not know that he didn't hook up some of the wiring for the bike . So that's why it didn't start. Lesson learned never again read more

Today was my first time using Mobile Motorcycle Repair(MMR). I needed to replace the battery on my bike and spent too much time trying to figure out how to do it on my own, and failed. I blame Ducati engineering, not my limited mechanical skills. I emailed MMR and got a response and a quote within minutes. They were even able to schedule me for the very next day. I made the mistake of having the battery that I bought for the bike in my truck, with me, not at the house with the bike. Greg, the tech, offered to meet me on the way out to work on the bike.
