    Out riding by Sunday

Tony is a super cool dude. He had me out and riding in no time flat for a fair price. I had the parts shipped to his shop, took my bike in on a Friday for a rear tire replacement, was back out on the road on a Saturday. The parts took longer to ship than he took to fix the bike! Definitely going back to him again.

Let me try to find the words to express my experience at Phantom Motorcycle repair shop!! if you're looking for a personal, friendly and down to earth experience where it seems like you're taking your bike to a friends house and not an actual shop, then this is the place for you!! My very first interaction with Tony over the phone was awesome, He took the time to actually talk to you, whatever he was doing at the time, it appears that he stopped and took the time to listen to you and answer my questions. My major concerns were that I had bought some custom wheels (Performance Machine , "Del Rey" wheels) for my 2023 Brakeout, so it was very important that they were well taken care during mounting of the new tires (Metzler's Cruzetec 260mm x 18" rear and 130mm x 21" front). Tony reassured me that he treats your bike as if it was "HIS OWN", and would take every precaution to make sure that no damage would occur. My first impression of his shop when I dropped off the wheels was "My buddy's home garage" although it is small, it seems very personal. I had made at least a few trips since I didn't have both tires available when I dropped off the bike (different shipping dates) the second time I went to the shop, he had already removed the rear wheel and tire and I then when I saw some of the care that he took as to take care of the little things on your bike for example, my license plate bracket was covered on both ends with "socks!" to keep them from getting scratched while it's set on the bike lift. Again, the little details especially for those of us that own Harleys know what they mean.. I did have an issue where I was missing a rear bushing for the installation of the new wheels, unfortunately, the manufacturer forgot to send the bushing, so it delayed installation and Tony was very understanding in waiting for them to send the bushing out before continuing the repair. When it came to figuring out what kind of weights for balancing (what would not take away from the appearance of the wheels) to put on these custom wheels, he recommended the "Balance and Seal" option because in his opinion, why ruin the look of the wheels by trying to put weights. Again, an example of what he would do if the bike was his. Tony did an awesome job of keeping communication and responding to my text messages with any questions that I may have had. I have already recommended the shop to many others. I won't be taking my bike to any other shop when it comes to all my custom work with non-Harley products. We all understand some things for warranty purposes we have to have done at Harley. Once again, thank you so much Tony for an awesome job!!!! Here are some photos that I took myself of the finished product. (If anyone wants pictures of there bikes let this... hit me up)

Took my 09 CBR 1000rr in to Black Widow to get a full service done, a new set of fairings put on and a new headlight assembly put in. Was told that it would be over 1k to do which seemed a little high to me but I was fine with seeing as they had good reviews and everything. Took almost 6 months for me to get my bike out of the shop. When I finally did get the call that it was done, I went up there to pick it up. I go back to check out my bike and noticed my passenger seat was missing, passenger seat lock missing, passenger seat strap missing, spools were missing, battery charger that I had left for them to use (said they didn't have one) was missing, fairings not lined up to each other, and the bike was just filthy with dirt and dust all over it. My bike seemed like it was basically parted out. I told Jon Keller, the owner of this place, all the stuff that was missing and his response was "oh that's you brought it to us". What a load of crock that was. My bike was perfectly fine when I had brought it in with no issues just wanted a service and a few things done to it. So he goes to start my bike up and it wouldn't start because the battery was dead. When I brought it in it had a brand new lithium battery in it, hence why I left them a battery charger. So he jumps it with his home made battery charger, since mine was stolen, and it starts up. Almost immediately it starts to overheat. Hmm that's weird because I had brought it in to get serviced and It's never overheated on me before. Jon Keller begins to put engine coolant in my bike and it just pours out the bottom of my bike onto the shop floor. Come to find out the drain plug to my engine coolant WAS MISSING!! Wtf. So there was ZERO coolant in my bike! I had brought this bike in to get serviced! Jon Keller STILL charged me $1200!!!! I only paid it to get my bike out and back to my house before anything else happened to it. Be very careful of this place.

They reimbursed me some $600 on a part I had ordered. Then, when I decided to reorder the part, the employee said I didn't have to put down a deposit...but I did anyway. My mistake. When I found another Harley dealership to get the job done more quickly and gave them the go-ahead, the manager said that he couldn't give me my deposit back. (What? Then why was I told that I didn't have to put down a deposit in the first place?) He said he'd give me a gift card but he never sent me one. I wouldn't be so pissed about this if I hadn't bought my bike here just a few weeks prior. I spent quite a lot on the bike as well as upgrades to it. I left with a feeling that Caliente really only cares about making money; certainly not about making the customer happy.

Back in 2018, I took it to Caliente to replace the ECM, no problem at all. Service was provided and I was back on the road. Last week I called to have it towed due to engine running erratically. Tow was set up and Vincent was great. Shortly after it was towed away, I got a call from George. He was very direct and and indicated the manage said "we are not touching that bike, it's custom." He went on to say we can't return it until Friday and someone will give you a call to confirm the time. To which I agreed and asked is it possible to diagnose it? His response was just as rude, we aren't touching it. Friday came and he once again came across a little sideways, but this time over voicemail. The driver is loaded and on the way. Nine voicemails left by the time I noticed due to being at work and in meetings. The last message stated "we need to connect and if we don't deliver today it will be after the weekend and we will have to start charging storage fee of $20. Poor service, unprofessional and a poor reflection of leadership to his crew. Next time ask the customer if the bike is custom and you'll avoid it all. Won't be a next time for me. Two stars only because Vincent was great. George...could use some training.
