View from the back patio and ample Adirondack chairs to lounge in.

First saw Moby Dicky's two years ago on my way to the Highland games at Sanders ferry Park. They had a sign out front that said mahi tacos, which I adore. Took two years for me to get there, but finally went this past weekend. I absolutely LOVE the vibe of this place. It has a beach vibe, being ON the lake with the open back to the patio and Adirondack chairs facing out at the water. With the garage doors open to the patio it can be muggy and warm. But that's part of the beachy vibe. They totally play my kind of late 60s to early 80s music. The bar chairs look wide and comfy, although I didn't sit on one. We ordered the calamari, the Parmesan Panko, flounder and, two tacos, one grilled shrimp and one fried grouper. Having grown up relatively close to the beach I was used to fresh seafood, which is naturally lacking in landlocked Tennessee, and so, can any seafood REALLY be fresh here? That being said, I wasn't disappointed and I HAD noticed a post on their Facebook hiring a cook. But, the shrimp were over cooked and the calamari very small and dry. Hub loved his flounder. It was nicely cooked and the fried grouper was great. The staff was attentive and friendly. I'd hoped for a mojito but they had no mint or mint syrup. (I may just start carrying mint oil/extract as many places don't have mint). Vibe /atmosphere 9 Staff 8 Food 7 I WILL go back-probably soon, as I wanted to just hang out there all day and I will hope that the additional kitchen hire will improve the seafood.

Food: clam chowder, drunken shrimp for appetizers were excellent. Shrimp and grits were very good, but rather small portion for $19.95. Whale Fredo with side salad usual like everywhere. Cobb salad was nice portion and fully loaded. Service was very good by Tyler. Ambiance very relaxing by the lake al fresco. Definitely would go back, try something different.

As a local, I've eaten at Moby Dicky's more times than I can count--and I've tried just about everything on the menu. Let me tell you: nothing is bad. Seriously. From the lobster bisque and drunken shrimp to the crab legs and catfish, every dish is fresh, flavorful, and consistently well-prepared. The vibe is casual and welcoming, with lake views that make the patio a perfect spot on a nice day. Service is always friendly and attentive, even when they're slammed (which they often are--it's that good). Yes, parking can be tight and there's usually a wait on weekends, but it's 100% worth it. If you're craving seafood in Sumner County, this is the spot. Moby Dicky's has earned its place as a local favorite--and it keeps earning it every time I go back.

Their food was yummy and the vibe was nice! I would definitely come back again. It was a bit cold and they had shades down so I couldn't see the lake but during the summer I'm sure it would be a good place to hang out

Hot Chicken Sliders with Pasta Salad

I came here back in May when visiting a friend. The meal was delicious and I am so happy I discovered it through her. I got the hot chicken sliders with fries and the pasta salad. The table also split the Chicago Style Oysters. The pasta salad has a ginger dressing on it, which makes it really unique. Everything was incredible and I had been dreaming about Moby Dicky's since we left. A few weeks ago, I had another trip to Nashville planned with my brother and knew we had to stop there on our drive in. We got there around 6:20 pm and there was already a 50 minute wait. I told him that it would be worth it. We only waited about 25 minutes and were served quickly. I had to stay loyal to the hot chicken sliders, fries, and pasta salad. My brother and I split the egg rolls, which were gone in a matter of minutes. I didn't have anything to drink since I was driving but I made sure my brother tried a Bushwacker. He really liked it. I had a tropical blue drink when I visited in May and liked it. They had their holiday drink menu still up and those festive drinks looked pretty good too. Our service was great and Moby Dicky's is a very friendly atmosphere. I hope to return next time I am in Nashville!

We will be repeat customers! Bartender was so great. The espresso martini hit the spot today. My love had the bloody...while I'm not a fan of zingzang (pretty much industry standard in these parts) & a WI bloody snob; they set themselves apart and used a really tasty celery salt/old bay mix on the rim. And they garnished which doesn't happen often. Points for that! The food was so awesome. We had: Chicago style oysters topped with fresh horseradish YUM The perfect bowl of clam chowder DELICIOUS Blackened Grouper Sandwich FRESH n TASTY And the yacht rock playlist.

Great service, atmosphere and seafood! Right on the lake - I would recommend sitting outside on their covered patio.

Good service. Decent prices. My steak sandwich wasn't the best. I guess that's what I get for ordering steak at a seafood restaurant

    Is smoking allowed indoors?

    NOPE and it was pleasant

    Can you make a reservation?

No, because volume of patroons makes It impossible. But there is a beautiful patio you can view the lake from. Several of my friends say it's worth waiting for a table!

    Any gf options? Thanks!

Yes there are, just mention you gluten free diet and they can steer you in the right direction. My wife is also gluten free and they have been able to accommodate her as needed.
