I've been to this bar quite a few times and have always enjoyed their food. Four days ago I tried the bar and the experience was great. Bartender was fast with drinks and would ask at an appropriate pace if we needed refills. The food was spot on. The grilled chicken sandwich was cooked beautifully and the honey mustard sauce made it even better. The black beans and rice will be a side I will highly recommend to my friends. My biggest issue at the bar was seeing the planes hanging above us covered in dust. I think they're neat but do not want to eat under something that can drop dust balls in my food. read more

Thursday August 20, 2026 I'm disappointed to be writing this review because my first experience at Sam's Place about six months ago was excellent. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful, which is why I decided to return to the Hendersonville location. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. When I arrived, no one was at the door to greet guests. Eventually, two employees approached, but their attitude came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming. Several staff members I interacted with appeared disengaged, and the overall atmosphere felt unprofessional. I started with a sweet tea that arrived warm and had an unusual taste and aftertaste. I assumed it might be because it was freshly brewed, so I asked to switch it out. Thankfully, my waitress, Susie, was kind, professional, and happy to replace it with a Coke. She was the bright spot of the entire visit. Unfortunately, the Coke was also flat and tasted off, but I chose not to make another issue out of it. I asked about the soup of the day and was told the potato soup was from the previous day. I appreciated the honesty, but the soup was barely warm and so heavily peppered that it overwhelmed the flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the oven-roasted chicken with loaded mashed potatoes. The moment it arrived, I could tell something wasn't right. The entire plate was barely warm. I was literally able to place my hand on the food without discomfort. When I cut into the chicken, there was almost no steam, and both the chicken and mashed potatoes appeared and tasted like leftovers that had simply been reheated. If carryover food is being served, there should be proper quality control to ensure it is heated and presented appropriately. Adding to the experience, the televisions throughout the restaurant remained off until shortly before I left, despite the restaurant having been open for approximately an hour and a half. Everything should be guest-ready when the doors open. I also observed what appeared to be a manager in a white shirt and glasses standing near the kitchen for much of my visit, talking and laughing with employees rather than actively overseeing operations. I'm genuinely shocked by how much this location has declined since my last visit. While Susie provided excellent service and deserves recognition, the overall food quality, beverage quality, management presence, and employee professionalism were far below expectations. Based on this experience, I would not return and would consider this location a high-risk choice until significant improvements are made. read more

Sam's is a great neighborhood joint with indoor and outdoor seating on a floating deck. Though my family always enjoys the ribs, wings and pizzas the chicken sandwich and veggie burger are heavily underrated. Don't over think it, roll into Sam's anytime the thought crosses your mind! read more

Here's a novel idea, instead of offering Easter endless brunch from 10 am - 2 pm, and running out of "endless" brunch by 1:00, maybe you should just make sure you have enough food on hand to make it to 2 pm or just make your offering to 1 pm. Just a thought. read more

We've been here every time we come to TN, and it's a great place for families. A nice selection of appetizers, a family favorite, is the fried pickles. The artichoke dip was good, lots of chips and a small bowl so a bit expensive for the small amount of dip but we tore it up. The cranberry spritzer have barely any liquor. They were busy so while our server was very pleasant, it moved a bit slow. Great place to watch a sports game and the food an good. This has become our after movie, and late night stop. I've eaten here enough to make a few general statements. The staff is friendly and it's a comfortable environment. You can easily relax and decompress here. The food is decent. Nothing special, but typical bar food. I've ordered the Caesar salad a few times and it's large and has maybe too much parmesan cheese. In my most recent visit, the chicken wings were huge and juicy but lacked enough sauce, I had to ask for more sauce, and they were slightly undercooked. Not to the point that they were inedible, but they could have stayed in the oil another minute. The beer is cold and there is a nice selection. Wow second time is a charm! We met Eli bartender and the Manager Mr. Walsh. The first wasn't bad it's just this was much better experience than last time. Not that last time was disappointing but this was better. I had the Sam's salad with salmon and my husband had bbq baby back ribs. Yummy! I apologize that I didn't take any photos but everything was delicious and fresh! There's not anywhere in Hendersonville that I have been that the Manager came out and introduced himself/herself and asked about my experience at the restaurant. This place is a hendersonville staple. The menu isn't huge but most things are pretty solid. We found this place after 2 failed attempts at getting Bar-B-Q. It's a typical sports bar with plenty of tvs. It would be my goto place to go watch big games, if I lived here. They do not have any shellfish on the menu, which is a plus for me. I would recommend this place if you are looking for bar food. There isn't anything super unique about this location. read more

I get off work late and this is one of the few places I can get supper before going home. They don't run a lot of staff, so you have to be a little patient, but so far they have not let me down. The wait staff have lots of tables, but they hustle and get things done. Just make sure you have everything you need when they bring you the food as it might be a little while before they get back to you. The food has been great every time. I recommend this place for small individuals and couples. I don't recommend this place for large parties. read more

What has happened to this place? Being in the industry in the past the things I will point out are just bad management. Bussers pushing stuff to the floor when they clean tables, papers all over the floor at 6:30in the evening, what will it look list 9? Food is still ok, not sure what happened. Several tables open but long lines waiting to get in. If you read my previous post this was my go to place 2-3 times a week. I have not been back in months, but really was hoping that they changed their ways, but clearly the mgmt doesn't care about feedback otherwise I would have to believe they would fix it. Maybe it's the colors w he wood and the vibe...unsure but it's totally an old Bennigans feeling. I grew up in them bc my step dad ran several in Oklahoma as a kid. So I loved it!
