They came to where I work one morning. I saw the Café Con Leche and had to order it. If you have not had one, you must try it.

The ambiance of the cafe is perfect, large windows allow light to pour into the bright space, exposed brick and the high ceilings give it a turn of the century industrial feel, and the inviting seating area by the front windows makes you want to curl up with a cup of coffee and just watch the world go by. We ordered two hot drinks and three entrees. The drinks were a Red Eye coffee with a splash of cream and a Dirty Chai, as well as some of the hard stuff, aka milk for the baby. Now the food, I literally could have eaten four helpings of everything. I'm still kicking myself for not ordering something to go. My husband ordered the Cajun Omelet with breakfast potatoes, if you order nothing else, get the breakfast potatoes, as they are as near to crispy potato perfection as you can get. The youngest member of the party had a Belgian Waffle, and I had a Fried Green Tomato sandwich on a homemade biscuit. I literally licked my fingers because I did not want to waste a crumb. The ONLY disappointing thing about the cafe is that we did not stumble onto it sooner. I look forward to making this eatery a frequent go to for morning, midday or evening bites. PS - if nothing else, the pay it forward board will give you all the feels when you stop in.

I would firmly argue that this…read moreis some of the best coffee in Lancaster and has one of the coolest interior atmospheres. I typically go at least once a week before work. My order is 1 large hot latte and 1 large iced latte. I like to drink the iced latte before school then fill the cup up with ice and pour the (now room temp) other latte over it. That's how much I love this coffee. The only draw back is that the food situation leaves something to be desired. They usually have some sort of baked good/pastry in the display case, but I always eat breakfast before I go so I've never tried it.

My standard order is an iced latte with cherry syrup (although a latte with the peanut butter syrup is also delicious). I've tried cherry lattes elsewhere, but Mean Cups is the best. Nice and sweet, just how I like it, and you can actually taste the cherry. There're plenty of seating options, both indoors and out, and a restroom for customers. The service is quick (and not at all mean!). There's plenty of parking in the lot in front of the store. I do wish they had more food options, but there's not much aside from a small selection of baked goods. Luckily, there are plenty of other options in the same line of shops where you can grab some food to have with your coffee.

My girlfriend and I had an off day from bad weather, and finally got around to trying this place!…read moreWe didn't go too crazy, as neither of us eat a lot in the morning, so we both ordered the Croissant Sandwich, which has egg and cheese on it and then added sausage to each of them for an extra 3 bucks. We were SHOCKED to see how big they were, and they come with a hash brown on the side which was MORE than enough. If anyone is like me, they also need coffee in the am. I ordered one of their holiday specialty drinks, the Santa's Cookie Latte, and I got it iced. The coffee was absolutely delicious, with notes of sugar cookie along with a little slight hint of nutmeg or cinnamon, perfectly fit the name which I appreciated! The sandwiches were A-MAZING! Huge like I said, texture was perfect and the flavor was familiar and comforting, almost as I made it myself! I also enjoyed the fact that, if anyone knows what I mean, back with the texture, the sausage was able to be differentiated from the eggs, a lot of the time it all seems to be one mushy thing. Not here, the sausage had a good bite to it, and it all went perfectly together. The actual restaurant is also super cute inside, and the staff are so so friendly. Definitely worth stopping in! I'm going back just for coffee!!

With two…read morefood truck options--burgers (always a solid standby) or Middle Eastern fusion--we decided to go for the more adventurous choice. Best decision of the day. Even with the huge crowd, Traveling J's was running like a well-oiled machine. Two people--just a chef and a cashier--were absolutely cranking out orders while still keeping the line moving fast. Impressive! We narrowed our choices down to two items to split - Gourmet Grilled Cheese + Garlic Cilantro Fries (upgrade) and Hummus with carrots & cucumbers. Add two cold drinks and our total came to $28.62. Not bad considering the generous portions. When we opened our to-go boxes, we were seriously impressed. The hummus was smooth and creamy, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with spices. The fries were crispy (not soggy!) with just the right kick of garlic and cilantro. And the grilled cheese? Perfectly toasted, melty, and stuffed with sweet, crispy bacon. Cheese was oozing, bread was golden, and it was everything a grilled cheese should be--and then some. The portions were more than enough for two hungry adults, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I even made sure to compliment the chef--he looked like he'd been hustling nonstop to keep up with the crowd, and it showed in the quality. Next time, I've got my eye on their fried Halloumi cheese. It looked AMAZING coming out of that truck. Bottom line: Fresh, flavorful, filling, and run by a hardworking duo who know what they're doing. Traveling J's is officially on my "must-eat-again" list.
