What an awesome spot! My friends and I were looking for a spot to have coffee/tea on a Saturday afternoon of antiquing in Columbia. This place is adorable, with indoor and outdoor (covered) seating, a lovely view of the river and bridge, and a friendly, charming staff. The counter was immaculately clean and everyone I observed was using excellent food sanitation. I had a chai latte and a cup of butter pecan ice cream. Friend #1 had a London Fog and ice cream in a pretzel cone. Friend #2 had a coffee and mint chip ice cream in a waffle cone. The ice cream was delicious and generously served. The beverages delicious. I didn't know what a Longon Fog was, but I do now and know I like it! I will certainly return, with my friends, and husband. Maybe my kids. :) read more

It's an ice cream parlor, a coffee shop, a bakery; they have quiches, sandwiches - choices abound and everything looks so good. I opted for a slice of spinach quiche, served with a hashbrown and Lancaster's famed, Long Johns donut. My hashbrown was of the frozen variety, barely microwaved - a bit on the wobbly side and the quiche slice, put together with sloppy hands, a mass of not quite settled/cooked cheese/spinach concoction, a little watery, served lukewarm. It's as if the person making the quiches was thinking, "I'm just Sooo tired of making quiches all day!" My long johns donut, was stale. I never rate places- but felt like I did need to give a heads up. I actually went to this cafe twice today (around noon for smoothies and late afternoon for ice cream with hungry kids in tow). Both times, we were really surprised at the lack of organization behind the counter. There were only two people working, and the line of 7+ kept getting longer because they couldn't keep up with filling the orders. I don't mind waiting- but this happened both times and it was clear they needed more people working to accommodate. Though the kids liked their smoothies, I was a little surprised that they made them with pre-purchased juice, water and ice. Missed opportunity for some fresh fruit :( We got a cup of coffee, and at the self serve it was empty. No one had started brewing a backup pot, so we had to wait for that. Once finished, my boyfriend took a sip and it was lukewarm and majorly diluted. Again, I love the vibe and the idea of this place- but please hire some extra help and live up to the awesome menu you offer! read more

The service was fine it's what you expect of a coffee shop so no complaints. The general store was clean and open. I liked that it's close to the river trail. Ordered a biscuit sandwich with both bacon and sausage - it was pretty tasty, which is why I am giving them one star, although I wish they didn't overcook the eggs. We ordered the loaded hash browns. And the young woman taking our order asked if we wanted gravy or chipped beef on top, in addition to all of the toppings which included eggs, green scallions, cheese, and bacon. We asked for chipped beef on top. The first time they served it to us it was just 2 hash browns with some chipped beef. That's definitely not loaded, we were missing all of the toppings. We sent it back and said we wanted what we ordered. So the second time we were missing eggs and scallions, they subbed the latter with red onion without asking. They messed it up twice and we were tired of waiting so we ate the second order but told them we were missing eggs and wanted our eggs and the woman who handed it to us asked "what are you talking about?" with an attitude. We said we wanted what we ordered. They gave us 2 eggs, you would think they want to redeem themselves but I felt like they were pranking us - I included a pic to show you what I mean. My husband tried the yolk part and said it tasted like ash, that they cooked it in something awful. Looks like they didn't bother to clean the griddle. They weren't very busy at that time so it didn't make sense that we got such dirty eggs. It's sad. It's $7 or $7.50 - and to be honest I'll never get it again because it's not worth it. I don't think I'll ever go to this business again. I don't want to partake in a place that treats their customers so poorly. read more

I have been to this spot multiple times and I really enjoy the location, the service and the food. However, any time I have come here for ice cream, I have noticed that it is very soft. I think it might help to lower the temperature of where the ice cream is kept. When eating it on a cone, I have felt like I need to inhale it before it's all over me. The ice cream tastes good- I just would prefer it to be less soft so I can really savor it. Otherwise, great job, Coffee and Cream. Stopped by this fun spot on Saturday for some light breakfast and coffee. Everyone working there was helpful, attentive and friendly. We just had a muffin and cinnamon roll. Whatever bakery provides their baked good is doing a great job. My wife ordered a fancy coffee drink, she said it was delicious and it looked great. I'm a black coffee guy, the cup I had was solid. Not bitter and smooth. My only complaint is that it's kind of small inside and when sitting outside, it gets kind of noisy as you are right next to the road. We will definitely stop back! read more

My husband and I passed by this building and thought it would be perfect for a coffee shop and our wish came true!! We stopped today finally to try and it and just love it! The decor is fresh and airy, very nicely done...great artwork. We ordered chicken sandwiches, lattes, baked oatmeal and a spritzer. The service was fast and served in a friendly manner. They had a nice steady stream of customers, and despite it being winter, I saw several people order ice cream. The view is amazing, and the rumble of the train cozy. I think this summer will be a huge hit with the foot and biking traffic from the river trail for ice cream. The food was fantastic and latte smooth and just right. Excellent coffee. Was in the area and spotted this place by the river. They sell pastries and other treats, but they have no idea what the allergens are in the treats (health code violation) so i was bummed that I had to avoid them. They charge 75 cents extra for things like flavoring and 'alternative' milks such as oat milk, which is kinda lame because my "usual go-to" shop offer these things free of charge. But the taste of my iced coffee was so good it made me forget about the mild complaints. They should definitely start figuring out what's in their foods that they're selling though, might get someone hurt one day. Definitely come here for coffee though if you like supporting local coffee shops. read more

Was very excited about this place when it first opened, but quality doesn't seem to be as good anymore. Stopped in for two lattes to go in early October - one latte got all the milk and the other got all the foam. A quality coffee shop will make two separate lattes rather than trying to cut the process in half. read more

Such a nice addition to Columbia! So glad to see local coffee shops popping up in areas like this. Coffee And Cream is so light and airy and colorful -- the atmosphere is great. I will definitely be returning with my laptop or a book to spend some more time. The bench along the one wall looks super inviting and the decor is beautifully done. The baked goods from a local baker are phenomenal and my chai latte was delicious and a really nice size. I will definitely have to come back and try some food and ice cream. Such a nice find! Perfect coffee house on the banks of the Susquehanna. It's less than 3 minutes off of Highway 30. The interior is a very pretty renovation of an old building near the railroad. I brought my toddler who was absolutely charmed by the train that he could wave to as it passed by our window. In a separate area from the main dining area is a comfy play section with books, toys, and chairs for grown ups who want to sip and supervise. After grandma and grandpa came to meet us there and take my son for an overnight stay, I enjoyed a couple of hours writing in the cafe. It was no surprise that it was a popular place. I saw young couples, families, people meeting for work, older women's groups, teenagers. Besides coffee and pastries, there is a nice breakfast and lunch menu and plenty of ice cream to choose from. The cafe appeared to be run by a family with parents and teenage kids chipping in behind the counter and busing tables. So much nicer than a random Starbucks! read more

This establishment is wonderful. The woman with multiple piercings is the sweetest service worker I've met, and I work in the service industry. It's a very small establishment but it has so much character. From the decor of the light blue and cream to the unique wrapped tables. The muffins, cranberry orange at least (my favorite) are better than I've tried and I go to many coffee shops. I highly recommend coming here, even to stop in. read more

Adorable! Very friendly service. I had the chicken salad sandwich, which was great and tasted homemade; also the blueberry danish was delightfully ooey gooey with lots of filling and icing. The donuts were kind of meh. But five stars for a quaint coffee stop close to the highway, with a great view of the water and an old stone bridges across some train tracks.
