Stopped in to this cafe/coffee shop while my girlfriend was shopping at the mall. The cafe was spacious with lots of comfy chairs and couches to relax in. The selection of books was not extensive but, carefully curated (which I appreciate). The coffee was excellent. I had a decaf mocha latte. The barista took great care in putting together a great cup of coffee. He added a beautifully done artistic topping with the frothy milk. Definitely a nice respite from mall activity. read more

I absolutely hate their new location it is not warm it is not cozy the ceiling is too high all the seats are bunched together there's no privacy it's not comfy it's not cuddly it doesn't give me that warm feeling. The service was the same it was perfect. The mocha latte was what I ordered. The chicken sandwich I suppose it was okay it just wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe put some dividers in and drop the ceiling and make it a little more Cozier lighting. But the new location is the pitts. I was cold and I hate being cold. Also the ceiling is too high maybe lower where the seating is and not where the stages or the doors are and also put in some dividers so it feels like smaller rooms to give it that little privacy that can be moved to different areas when you have shows. read more

The books, the peaceful and joyful vibe of the decor, and the friendliness of the staff at Mocha Lisa's Cafe supersede the consistently long wait for one's order. The environment and the joy is why I give this cafe 4 stars. It is such a nice place to read, write, study, or play a game of cards, that I absolutely think one should come if they are not on any time schedule. If you are in a rush, do not do it. Why stress yourself? I already knew about the wait, so I was prepared. The family next to me was nonplussed. They were not aware. My chai was delicious. My egg wrap was ok. I prefer the egg to be cooked differently, so that was definitely a me thing. I will order something else next time. I've walked by MochaLisa's so many times while exercise walking in the mall and always noticed a fair number of customers present. It just never fit into my eating schedule in the past. Today I was meeting a friend for a business lunch, and this seemed like a golden opportunity to checkout ML's. Arriving about 12:15 there were maybe ten other customers. The book section of the caffe is at one end, the ordering counter is in the middle, and the rest of the caffe is filled with dining tables and some high-tops. There is also direct access to the mall's food court. I ordered the Turkey Club Panini ($11.50) while my associate got the Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad ($11.50). We both enjoyed our meals. My club sandwich was not truly a "club" sandwich since it was served between a sliced ciabatta roll with no extra bread separating the turkey from the bacon, lettuce, and tomato. It also was not what I expected for a "panini." The triangular shaped ciabatta roll was neither pressed nor grilled on the outside. It was, however, toasted on the inside and still warm when served. It was still tasty with diced turkey pieces and enough mayo to counteract the dryness of the firm roll. read more

Stopped in to meet a friend and ordered a large latte with oat milk and croissant which was given to me to go - I would have loved a mug! Croissant was heated but tasted old. Really liked it here! Was in the area with my mom-in-law and decided to kill some time before an appointment. First, the staff were very friendly and personable. I got the special of a cherry chocolate latte and an everything bagel with plain cream cheese which were delicious! My MIL had a pumpkin spice latte with whipped cream and cinnamon and nutmeg and she drank every drop. They have a little book section to buy from and a game shelf to borrow from while there which is cute. It is what it is but the 1 star is lost because the vibe is definitely "in a mall". MocaLisa's is a pleasant place to linger with friends over food and drink, get a beverage, or perhaps read a book. If you have time for a relaxing get-together, you'll certainly have that here. However, if you are pressed for time, and the restaurant is more than half full, use your judgment. The food here is well prepared, coffee, while plentiful, is not necessarily distinctive. My large mug of dark roast - which was huge - seemed somewhat bland (in fairness, I should try a latte or chai next time). I came in for an early lunch a little bit after 11 on a weekday, and the restaurant was already half full. My coffee was handed to me at the counter reasonably quickly, and I was given a number to bring to my table. Quite a few other tables had numbers on them (see below for more), so I wasn't sure how quickly my sandwich would come to me - about 18 minutes. It feels like they could benefit from one more person working, as the staff had to take turns taking, making, and serving orders. My turkey BLT contained nice large chunks of turkey (as opposed to deli slices). So about those order numbers. I noticed that when my sandwich came out, the server did not take back my number, they're evidently left on the table until it's cleared. If they run out of these, someone has to make the extra effort to retrieve some. Plus, if folks walk in and see a lot of these numbers on tables, they might assume the kitchen is backed up, and they might leave and you've lost business. It's good that they have a bin for bussing your glasses, plates, and silverware. It's bad that it's in the back, because I saw several tables with these items left on them after customers left. If the bin were in the front of the restaurant, more people might be willing to drop these off on their way out. The bathroom I used - the 2nd one - had almost no water pressure for either faucet, hot or cold. Let's hope that's temporary. But on the plus side, you have books, including used books, and according to signs, there's a regular book discussion group. This is, for me, a good place for a late-morning/early-midday meal and beverage, as long as I have the time to enjoy it. read more

Can't speak for their other items but they have Very mediocre coffee for the price. I got a Vanille latte and it just tasted like warm milk. Barely taste any notes of espresso or the vanilla flavor. The same exact order at Uncommon grounds is 2 dollars cheaper and tastes SO MUCH better! read more

This is a really cute cafe-bookstore combination! The place is very open and welcoming and my friend and I came here to study and have lunch. We had their seasonal Frankenstein which is a matcha latte with mocha drizzle and also had one of their wraps! Everything was decently priced and was pretty good! Overall I think it's a lovely little study spot, there's comfy couches too. The only thing was that I found that outlets were a little limited and they do have a morning rush which can get busy and noisy but overall not too big of an issue and totally understandable for a popular place. read more

This is such a cute spot. My friend and I discovered it last summer on the way home from the Adirondacks and made it a point to stop again this summer. Lovely lattes and really nice food. So the best adjective I could use to describe this dining experience was sad. The place looks very thrown together, like they set it up and decorated it in the middle of the night. I came here for a lunch meeting and it was pretty well attended for a late lunch time, complete with a reading nook area. Although I am not a coffee drinker, I ordered a lemonade and the Kara Mia wrap with the balsamic dressing instead of the honey mustard on a garlic herb flavored wrap. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. The chicken itself was super dry. It had spent way too much time in whatever food holding area they have and then likely microwaved for service. The balsamic dressing was Kens bottled balsamic, and not even enough of it to make up for the Sahara dessert dry chicken and also to properly coat everything else in the wrap as well. Both wraps were served with Lays wavy potato chips. Could you AT LEAST serve Saratoga potato chips if you are going to be this lazy? For the love of your body don't order the lemonade!!! There is no way that this can properly classify as lemonade. It wasn't even Minutemaid lemonade. I honestly didn't even know what it was but I took one sip of the highlighter yellow liquid and got a mouthful of chemicals. I put that down and did not pick it back up again. Honestly, fresh lemonade is probably the easiest thing to make in the land. The whole experience was worse than a high school cafeteria. Much disappointment! Came by this gem over the weekend when my sisters came to visit from out of town and fell in love. Their butter pecan delight latte has been a morning staple for me every day this week because of how delicious it is. I haven't had the chance to sit in and enjoy the atmosphere but definitely plan to bring my book and sit and enjoy my latte at one of the comfy looking armchairs one of these days. If they were open later I would go after work but unfortunately they close at 4pm. The baristas are very sweet and walked the coffee cup out to us where we were waiting instead of calling a name from behind the counter. They were extremely sweet to me and my sisters and complemented each of us in every one of our visits. I will definitely be a regular at this cute spot! read more

I wanted to really like this as I was looking forward to checking it out for a while. At 10 am it was populated and took a bit to get my drink, but the baristas were hustling so I was fine. My mocha was weak. Not a lot of flavor. I ordered all three vegan items they offer and was disappointed by all of them. The brownie was super dry and almost inedible. I dunked it into my mocha and it was still bad. The banana bread was also dry--you should never serve an end piece unless someone requests it. Left most of that. we were out and about 3 weeks ago and stopped here for a sandwich and cappuccino. cappuccinos were ordered "dry" meaning very little steamed milk. They were made with seems to be a whole cup of milk, yuk! I asked the "barista" girl to make us another and explicitly told her very little milk, well the second ones were the same as the first, they sorta tasted like just milk, terrible. the sandwich never came and when I went to check on order I found out they never made it. I have to give this place NO STARS and the lowest rating. will not be back to be served over priced hot milk. I would not have these young girls working for me. The caffé is twice as big as the old one, is bright and has ample seating in a variety for those that want to chat and those that want to work. I ordered to go - a coffee, a latte, and a chicken salad wrap. The coffees were excellent - they even brewed a new pot for me. The wrap was very disappointing. A plain tortilla, 90% of it was filled with very fresh crisp lettuce and the other 10% had a bit of pretty flavorful chicken breast. There were only few walnuts, and no craisins at all. Overall the wrap was lacking flavor and protein, and for $10 I expected more than a tortilla filled with fresh romaine lettuce. read more

The crew in the morning is excellent and gets the coffee out to me fast. I think the longest I had to wait for a cup of coffee was 4-5 minutes. The afternoon crew got upset after I asked about my coffee and how much longer. I had to get to work. One of the workers, a short girl with dark hair, said to another worker, "If she wants her coffee fast, then she should go to Stewart's!" Well that's what I did! Never went back there. We stopped by this coffee house from out of town to grab a cup of coffee and a bite. What a great find. The Breakfast burrito and the croissant BLT were both fresh and delicious. We ordered a traditional latte and a regular cup of coffee. We were very satisfied customers. If your in the neighborhood, stop by and check it out. Hey kids, I suggested, let's not go to Starbucks. Why not try the local independent coffee place? No, no, they insisted. We like Starbucks. C'mon, I told them, you'll support a local business and I bet it will be great. Well, the vibe for a strip mall place was great, the inside looks like your typically eclectic non-corporate cool spot. Check. But that was as far as we got. We were told the kitchen was closed because there were "six drinks ahead of us". So the nosh we wanted off their little menu was out. And the drinks we ordered were more like 25 minutes in the making, counting the fact they got two of the four wrong (one of them was just black coffee). And all the drinks were watery - especially troublesome for the dark roast coffee blend, which had an odd roast as well. The kids did like their pastry, the adults demurred, although the nibbles we tried of the kids suggested uncertain provenance for the baked goods. I'd keep this at three stars for hope and another visit, but we didn't get a customer service vibe from the folks behind the counter, either, in the face of the very, very long delays, and that just kills any ambition we might have had to come back to this sad little place. Starbucks, anyone? I've never waited 25 minutes in one for anything. read more

Very negative experience here at Mocha Lisa's Cafe. Unfortunately, the cashier was bent out of shape because I didn't buy into giving a tip for a simple cup of coffee. The expression on her face said it all, but it didn't end there. She poured the coffee and upon handing it to me she shoved it into my hand spilling hot coffee on my hand and wrist! To the owners: train your staff to appreciate your business and their job, consider explaining not everyone is going to tip on coffee, much less for a job where they are paid at least minimum wage. Thus, unlike restaurant servers who make far less than minimum and rely on tips for a living! Very unprofessional and puts YOUR business at risk. Fortunately, I was not injured beyond a minor burn. read more

Kicked out for loitering... I try to keep my business local (vs. Starbucks) and this spot was an option anytime I meet with someone from Alb as it's half way between Saratoga & Albany. After roughly 6x/year visits for the past 4-years I had thought..."it's ok all the way around." That changed quickly today as a counterpart and I were kicked out, turns out by the owner, for loitering while we quietly finished a video call on the lap tops and waited for our 2pm meeting to arrive, in an empty (except for 4 other people) coffee shop. The owner interrupted me 4 times in less then 40minutes and each time i progressively and very politely explained more including the "we are waiting for a 3rd person and then will order upon their arrival" part.... On the 4th interruption she went straight to "I'll call security if you don't leave" I'm at Starbucks now and my 2pm meeting has arrived. All 3 of us will never again return :( the whole thing is just really hard to understand from her view point....If I could I would post a pic of the Starbucks cups..... read more
