I explained to the groomer that my dog has a collapsing trachea so she can not have a collar around her throat. I was assured that he could groom my dog with a harness and without a collar. Marcio said he had an opening at 1 o'clock. I accepted the appointment and went home to get my dog medicated with anti-anxiety medicine. We returned at 1 o'clock and I handed my healthy but still anxious dog over to Rebecca who said it would cost $55 for the extra time they would spend in grooming her with care. I was told it would take 2-3 hours. I was surprised at this long time, but presumed they were being extra careful. I left and went home to wait for the phone call to pick her up. It came at about 2:15. When I got there at 2:30 Rebecca said it was now $65. I asked to see my Jill. Rebecca replied, when you pay the money to me Marcio will bring her out. I jokingly stated, "Are you holding my dog for ransom?" I quickly paid. Rebecca went into the back a d came out with Marcio holding my Jill, whose tongue was hanging out of her mouth, all blue, and her eyes were bulging. She was in respiratory distress! Marcio told me that I should find another groomer and I quickly grabbed my precious animal to get her emergency treatment. This was totally avoidable and incredibly abusive treatment. If a groomer doesn't understand when a pet is in critical distress, with a BLUE TONGUE, they do not belong in the pet grooming business! They should have called a veterinarian or me at the first sign of distress. I hope someone looks into this business. It was 82 degrees in that shop when my husband and I picked her up. Outrageous!

Prices are very competitive, and it's easy to book online. Courtney, owner and groomer, is fantastic. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and focused on both dogs and customers. She also recently accommodated a last minute appointment for us, which we were very grateful for. We've tried several groomers on Aquidneck Island but weren't in love with the results for the price tags they were asking. We will absolutely be back to The Pet Pawlor.

My dog is quite nervous, but James was super accommodating and very aware of how to help the dog feel more at ease. When picking up my pup, she was relaxed and waiting for her ride home. I stressed it several times because he bites very hard and I didn't want her to be injured. When I arrived I immediately noticed Cindy got down on the floor when interacting with my Westie/Maltese and he immediately relaxed, licked her and went willingly with her. He's a mommas boy so this really surprised me! Fast forward a couple of hours and when I picked up my "boys" they both looked amazing and my dog didn't bite Cindy, I was flabbergasted!!!! Not only is she a very talented groomer but she's a dog whisperer too! I can't thank her enough for sincerely loving my dogs while working her magic grooming them

I have never met a groomer like Len who was able to demat the cat completely (I have a super matted long hair Persian cat) without having to give him a lion cut, and finish wash and dry all within 1 hour!!! I can't believe it's only $50 also... In the past, I always get charged $150+ and they take 3 hours - they always end up giving him an ugly lion cut. I even had places (Petco of course) that hurt him when trying to demat - the razor cut into my cat's skin! Len truly BLEW MY MIND!!! I didn't even know this can be so easy and well done given all the poor previous experience and limited grooming options for cats. I would drive hours to come to Len just for this excellent service!!! Here's my cat happy and chilling in the car right after the groom... He is finally now fluffy and clean again!!! :D

When you search for cat grooming in my home city of Pawtucket, they are the first ones that come up. When I called to confirm that they also specialize in cat grooming, they said they did. I wanted to give small business a chance, and not keep bringing my beloved kitty to PetCo. Well, I'll be going back to PetCo, I guess. Not having a place to keep cats at all and no way to deal with them on the premises whatsoever, they kept my cat locked up in his cat carrier for 1.5 hours before even trying to groom him. We know this because 1.5 hours after we dropped him off, they called to say that they could not begin grooming him because he was not cooperating. Of course he wasn't. They had just left him in a tiny cat carrier for an hour and a half. We felt leary about leaving him there when they said to just leave him in the completely abandoned front room, where no staff at all was, in his cat carrier, and to just come and get him later. But we thought maybe we were being overprotective, and we did leave him. We now wish we never had, and feel really guilty for subjecting our cat to Puppy LaPeu's absolutely horrendous treatment. Really, we should have known to never ever trust these people when they couldn't even get their stuff together enough to have their correct address on their own website (or in any of their online business listings). They are not at 91 Power Road as their website says. They have moved to Smithfield Avenue. They did not inform us of this on the phone when we made an appointment. If it had not been for the wonders of smart phones and the ability to look their number up on the internet when their business location was not where their own website said it was, we never would have found them. That probably would have been for the best.
