Friendly neighborhood coffee shop....probably the only coffee shop in town - but that is okay because it is good. I went there twice during a recently trip to Bay St. Louis. The friendly Barista even remembered my coffee order exactly on the second visit. They have muffins and cookies for sale during the morning which I did not try. In the evenings they serve hamburgers and have around 6 beers or so on tap. I did try the hamburger. It was very large with a seasoned bun. It had a little peppery kick to it. It was good but a little overcooked for my taste. I also tried the lazy magnolia beer served with an orange wedge. It was good but not very bold. I was sort of craving a beer with a little more flavor to it. Saturday nights host a live cover band with seating outside. Overall this cafe is a great place to visit. read more

This cafe is an adorable spot to eat, visit, or hang out and work! Things I loved: - Large tables for working - Free wifi - Tons of tables (both inside and outside) to spread out and work, or eat lunch with friends - They serve beer and coffee, so you can come for coffee or a drink! - Free parking beside the cafe as well as across the street (beside the methodist church) - Gluten free bread options for sandwiches - Cute environment with lots of great wall art - Lots of windows with great natural light! The only thing that was slightly disappointing, were there were no gluten free options for their bakery case. This isn't abnormal for coffee shops, however, if you are gluten free, drinks or a full lunch sandwich are the only way to go- no gluten free snack/ bakery options. They indicate nowhere that their weekend and weekday menu differ until you've waited 20 minutes to order at their one and only counter. They indicate nowhere what food they're out of until you start ordering and you're interrupted with, "Actually... we're currently out of that food item right now." If you aren't willing to have wait staff to approach each table and get their order then you NEED to make ordering a less annoying and egregious process by posting what items are actually available each day and indicate very obviously and apparently what you're out of so you won't lose business to people ALREADY fed up with having to wait an outrageous amount of time to order on top of the potential of waiting 45+ minutes for food. This place feels like a lazy attempt at being a café, but places all of the employed work responsibilities onto the customer. I don't want to have to wait at a counter to order my food, pre-bus my own table and memorize the menu to order from. I'd never been to this establishment before and I won't ever make it a point to come back. read more

My first visit to the cafe. Met a group of friends for Sunday brunch. The menu is limited but seems to offer something for everyone. Most in my party ordered the 2Egg plate which came with bacon and biscuits. I ordered the Pulled Pork Grits. The grits are served in a bowl topped with bbq pulled pork and fried egg. Definitely different but good. The best items on the menu are the mimosas and mulled wine. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Orders are placed at the counter and then delivered to your table. The atmosphere is extremely casual and comfortable. Parking is limited at the cafe but is allowed on the street. If I happened to find myself in the area again I would eat here again. read more

Love the eclectic, down home vibe of this spot. Casual and welcoming coffee shop w standard coffee/cappuccino shop fare and restaurant with options for everyone- from my picky toddler to my salad loving dad. And booze and a nice selection of draft artisan beers too! I had the veggie burger which was lovely. The homemade chips are indulgently delicious and they give you a big portion. My daughter loved her PBJ on "fluffy" bread and the chix salad Sammy and burgers the rest of us got were great. Matcha tea was yummy and they have every kind of milk alternative you could want (I'm a coconut milk fan). Lovely treat on our Memorial Day outing. Nice outdoor wrap around porch for outside eating. Was enjoying ourselves so much we forgot to take pics! But I did take this one of our view of the neighbor's art gallery from the parking lot. Went one Saturday morning with my family for breakfast. It wasn't crowded at all so we figured it was the perfect time to come! We looked at the menu and placed our orders. All very basic dishes (scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes, Yogurt with granola) except for my husband's "Goddess Scramble" with a side of pancakes. Surprisingly, it took at least 45 minutes for our meals to come out We would've gladly waited longer IF our meals looked and tasted worthy of such a lengthy wait time with very few guests present. The toast was small (think: cheap bread-- which is a shame given their proximity to an amazing bakery!) and hard as a rock. Almost as if they toasted the bread first and then set it aside while the rest of the meal was served. Since I was making my daughters a breakfast sandwich using the hard bread, it took away from the fact that the bacon and scrambled eggs were good (not 45 min good, though!). My husband said the scramble was okay but that was quickly overshadowed by the raw batter still present in his pancake! Finally, my vanilla yogurt with fruit was not worthy of the $5 price. I expected fresh berries inside of the parfait instead of orange slices (with the peel still on it!), grapes, apple slices...? Oh and the waitress was sweet and kind, just not very attentive... she was the only waitress present, however. So I'm sure she was spread thin between the other 3 tables present. If we come back, it would be to try lunch. Maybe they'll redeem themselves. As far as for breakfast, we'll stick with the restaurant down the street. read more

Pretty great little place in Bay St Louis. The only good place to get coffee within like 20 miles. The recent addition of weekend breakfast in genius, with each table set up with place mats, silverware rolls, and fresh flowers. These extra touches, plus the sdded bonus of tablr service, are special for weekend breakfast, The ambiance is great, nice and relaxed. Pancakes are yummy, and it's an added bonus that you can get real coffee, i.e a latte, at breakfast. The Mockingbird is great any time of day, as they also serve a great selection of draught beer, and have live music many weekends. read more

It comes with a sweet artisan bun - something you don't see much outside of the Northwest. Strike up a conversation with a regular resident about the adventures of Neal Cassady. This is my fave breakfast spot in Bay St. Louis. I come here everytime I visit the area, which is about 4 times per year. The breakfast is consistently good. I have never had to wait in line. As mentioned by other Yelpers, the atmosphere is fantastic, with art for sale on the walls. It is always quiet enough to have a conversation with friends. Never had an issue coming here. Wi-fi is fantastic -- today I measured 25 megabits download speed! (Better than home!) This could be a 5 star place, I just haven't had tried many different things on the menu. I stopped in the Mockingbird Cafe on a recent trip to Old Town Bay St. Louis. The place was fairly clean and while I experienced no issues with the service, I did hear a nearby table reminding the server that they had yet to receive their drink refill. The menu options were not vast (under 10) and I ordered the Mockingburger, which was amazing. The burger itself was cooked perfectly, had a mound of cheese, and the bread (which made the burger) had a hint of sweetness. My date ordered the Summer Garden Burger and noted it was good as well (though she did state her Chai Tea was not very tasty). read more
