There is no menu on their website, but they mention ordering ahead. What? I had a basic breakfast staple, a bacon-egg-cheese biscuit. The biscuit itself was sub-par. The stuff in it was good (quality bacon, yum). If you're doing breakfast sandwiches, please love your customers enough to get the biscuit right. Coffee was great! read more

Stopped for breakfast at Mock's Crossroads on our way from NM to TX. We ordered 3 burritos, a croissant sandwich, cinnamon roll, cappuccino, coffee, OJ and hot chocolate. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing! Burritos were cooked fresh and substantial. The homemade cinnamon roll was the best i have ever had. The drinks were way better than Starbucks! And they were super fast! I highly recommend this place!! read more

We planned our route to stop here and have breakfast around 8:30 am and even though the hours had been updated within the last 2 months we arrive to a closed sign. Not good business, but who knows maybe a blessing in disguise. read more

I have checked the website and it did indeed say you were open when you were not. A sign in the window stating you would not be open due to circumstances would have been helpful. Sorry you didn't appreciate the humor it may have been too much. As someone who owned a business it is essential to communicate with customers and the Three times in the last two months I was traveling through there was no indication your store was even open. I can appreciate a mom and pop with kids. People in your town might know your situation but the travelers passing through who were looking for a better cup of coffee are left out in the cold. I'll give you a better review in the hope you'll be open the next time. read more

Best dang coffee shop around. We're out of Towners. I researched coffee shops before leaving our home town. So, the closest I found to Clayton, NM was in Cimmaron. Fortunately, one of our friends went for a walk and found Mock's Crossroads Coffee Mill. Thank Goodness! The coffee and latte's are excellent. They have so many coffees, syrups and nondairy offerings. And, to top that off, the sweetest people we've encountered. You knock the socks off Starbucks! read more

Stopped here for a quick bite when driving through town. They didn't seem to have a lot of lunch offerings. When I asked if they had sandwiches the kid working the counter said they had a Reuben so that what all of us got. Sandwich was delicious and it came with cracked pepper potato chips (fancier than your typical Lay's). I also had an iced coffee to keep me awake on the road. Would definitely eat here again if I find myself in Clayton. read more

Stopped by for breakfast hoping they had French toast for our son. Currently only the drive through was open. They did not have what we were looking for or pancakes. However they did have breakfast sandwiches and muffins which were delicious. We also had a coffee which was very hot and good. read more

Awesome southwest chicken salad with chipotle dressing! Kids loved their ham, egg and cheese croissants, cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip scones. Extremely friendly owner. Showed us a neat binder with pictures off what the building used to be- a feed store. I definitely recommend for the value and taste! This place is definitely a diamond in the rough. We stopped here on our way back home from Colorado and I'm glad we did. It was the right amount of flavor accompanied by a great cup of coffee that we needed. I'm just sad they're not closer to the DFW Metroplex. read more

Good place to stop for a coffee, but if you want your experience to last, buy some bags of beans. I am trying to find a one I don't like, but no luck with that. All have been very smooth and best tasting. The Samba is low-acid Brazillian and also very tasty. I found a new, unique gift to send caffinated friends. Also nice to support a small business. If I could give this place negative stars I would! I have never felt more unwelcome in a place of business, EVER!!! We stopped by here for a cup of coffee on our family trip and the moment we walked through the door the gentleman behind the counter did not say one word to us, gave us the most disgusted look that we were even in his coffee shop and just stared at us while we were looking around at the menu. After about a minute, no hello or greeting or anything, he just says "if you're looking for lunch, we have no food left". Which is not a big deal but you could've at least greeted us and said hi and made us feel welcome and not give us a mean look that we want to turn around and leave your building. Needless to say because he could care less about his customers, we left without ordering anything bc I am not giving this rude guy my hard earned money.This place definitely needs to work on their customer service and after reading other reviews, I'm not surprised we weren't the only ones this happened to. Sad to say because we would've loved to have gotten a good cup of coffee and support a local business, I think the owner needs to figure out who is behind his counter, and what kind of service they are providing. read more

What do you know?! In my humble opinion, this besides Eklund Hotel, this tiny coffee shop puts Clayton, NM on the map! Was shocked to find such a pleasant, cool, trendy place in such a small dusty town in the middle of nowhere. The people were great, location was good, the options were plentiful, the price was reasonable, the coffee was so fantastic that we stopped on our way passing back through 8 days later. Definitely worth the stop and a wonderful reprieve if you're road tripping through Clayton. If I lived in Clayton this place would be my hangout. read more

Quaint little coffee shop / diner. Stopped for lunch and the only thing on the menu was brisket...sandwich, salad or burrito. Mom took my order and son delivered my food to the table...I do love a family business! Very tiny dining room seats less than 20. I chose the sandwich and it was a nice size with ample meat. However, the brisket was very tough and I tore up the bun trying to eat it. Flavor was good but I'd recommend they serve it chopped rather than like roast beef. Here I am...drove 45 minutes from Dalhart, TX for good coffee, it's a Saturday morning at 9. They're closed. ???? Are you still in business or just not open for some reason? Okay...30 minutes into the future update...and tbh I was wondering if this may be the case. Waitress at Rabbit Ear Cafe said the father of the owners is ill/has Alzheimers so I'm thinking something came up. I'll go 3 stars but only because I didn't get to taste, but I hear great things around town. Bummed I missed out. My last update. Look them up on Facebook for information.
