The team worked efficiently and packed the truck expertly--everything was secure, and nothing was broken or damaged, which really speaks to their care and experience. Toward the end of the move things did slow down a bit, but we were also coming up on nearly seven straight hours of work, so that was completely understandable. By the end, most of the large furniture items were placed inside the house as requested, and the majority of the boxes were left neatly in the garage, which will make unpacking fairly manageable. Overall, great service, strong work ethic, and a crew that clearly knows what they're doing. I would absolutely recommend Peninsula Pack and Move, especially for more complex moves.

I would NOT recommend this company! I was quoted $175 hourly for a 28' truck and 3 guys and a…read moreminimum of two hours. An additional $50 was disclosed after they showed up. The workers were not efficient with packing the truck, layering things, one layer deep and then taking an unpacked load. This happened not once but twice, stretching out the hourly rate they were making. They did not hook up my washer and dryer as I was told they would and they damaged two pieces of furniture without disclosing they had. We ended up having to rent a U-Haul truck for two more days to finish what they weren't able to finish and this was after we had already packed a PODS container to the max in our driveway. So the stuff they were responsible for moving was mainly furniture. This is not the first time I have moved a moving company in Monterey County and so I had an idea of approximate cost and time. This company milked the clock, costing me more than twice what the move cost the previous time. At one point while moving some furniture at my old place, one of the movers voiced that he had stolen a piece of candy from me. I didn't think it was any big deal and laughed it off, but it made me wonder why he would do that and if he had done it before. When I attempted to contact the owner, David, I left a message, letting him know that I had issues and wanted to talk to him and rather than calling me back, he text me to tell me that he was really busy and that he was able to text. I would assume that being a local company wanting to make a great name, he would've contacted me back to figure out what happened and how he could make things better. The lack of upfront communication carelessness, and the fact that they took advantage of the situation is unacceptable. I expected better. If I could leave zero stars, I would. The service provided on June 27, was not $2500 worth. Do NOT book this company.

He said, while wearing glasses indoors, avoiding eye contact, and speaking sternly, and "I ain't picking up anything until I get payment from the first time." I said, "Are you sure you haven't received it, or can you check to see? We always mail them directly to vendors." He said "I wouldn't be asking if I did." If that was the case, he could have mentioned that he hasn't received payment and can't schedule a pickup until he does. Easy fix. Instead, he wasted both our time. Do yourself a favor - look up another company to call. P.S. I found out that he was in communication with our office a couple days prior to this interaction - where he admitted to moving their office address! So the address they provided (for mailing the check), was wrong! If he knew of this predicament - I'm even more confused why he came in so upset/rude.

For packing services (labor), it was $120/hr, where it's a 4 hour minimum and then they charge hourly after that. They utilized their own cargo truck which is $150. Of note, if you want them to actually pack your things, you'd have to provide the packing material and the $120/hr increases to $150/hr.

Went to great lengths and expense coordinating pickup with another party and Tavares. As the pickup/drop off date got closer I hadn't heard anything from Tavares. I began to send messages through yelp, via text, then finally called leaving multiple voicemails. I have not received a response after 3 days contacting them. On my first call, the phone rang like normal. After that every time I called it went straight to voicemail, I believe they blocked my number. If you changed your mind or something came up and you can no longer do a job, just let your customer know. Don't leave them in the dark and block their number.

If you want THE BEST, THE FRIENDLIEST, MOST ETHICAL, PROFESSIONAL AND HARD WORKING MOVERS, look no further. We have moved many times in our lives and this the first time that we truly had such a GREAT EXPERIENCE with moving. Before our move, we super stressed out about how we were going to get everything done in between busy work weeks and worried that our two toddlers could inadvertently sabotage our efforts to be efficient (any parent understands this!). The gentlemen at MOD movers made those worries disappear in a hot minute. At hello, this team (led by Jesse & Manuel) were all super friendly, very cordial, and efficient. They took great care of each item we had. They were extremely organized and got everything to fit in their truck without any problems. When it came to unloading, it was important to them that they helped us as much as they could because they knew it would help facilitate the unpacking process later. It was a long day, but they each worked so hard and on top of it all, had smiles on their faces the entire time. This put me, a mother of two energetic toddlers, at ease that I could trust these gentlemen to help us. I myself work in an industry where proper certification and licensing is crucial. Therefore, I appreciate that the gentlemen at MOD Movers are fully licensed. This means they care enough about their customers to not cut corners and that they went through the proper channels to be the best in their profession. These are good, honest people who are the real deal, value themselves and take pride in their own work. It was also awesome that they are a full service one-stop-shop. We already trust this business and we were so happy to find out that they also provide cleaning services. The employees of this company KNOW their jobs and my goodness do they do an amazing job at showing it. They were on point and accurate with their pricing and details and their customer service is just way high up there. My friends and I were moving into an apartment, and it's three females, given the day and age we live in it's hard to trust people around you, let alone having them in your home. Manuel and his team, were the most polite and respectful men we've ever met, which may not matter to some, but I know it does to others. They were very soft spoken, they were kind, helpful, understanding, you name it. They treated each other with respect, and that's what stood out to me most, I've seen movers and it always just made me upset that they were just so rude to each other and they're screaming and yelling, so to see how they were with each other as a team just gave me even more of a reason to know they treat their customers even better than that. We lived on the second floor which is difficult for a lot of people to move things in and out of so it was refreshing to see people that knew exactly what they were doing, and doing their job correctly, everything was wrapped and transported perfectly, no damages to our stuff and not a scratch to the apartment. I got a quote from MOD Movers and two other moving companies as well to move me from Carmel to Pebble Beach this March. MOD Movers quote came in far below the other two moving companies. I've moved many times, and I have to say, the experience I had with MOD Movers is hands-down the best moving experience I have ever had! My home: 5 bedroom, 5 bath, living room, family room, kitchen and 4 car garage. I hired MOD Movers to pack everything and move me into my new home in Pebble Beach. I was told by the other two companies that it would take at least a week to get the job done, but MOD completed the entire job in four days! I just cannot say enough good things about this company... From The first meeting I had with the owner, Marlene, to the second meeting I had with Jesse, Josh and Manuel, to the first day the team of seven showed up and begin working without ever slowing down for the next 4 days!!! All of MOD movers are so professional and genuinely helpful! Not one thing was damaged or broke during the move! The day after everything was moved out, their cleaning crew arrived to clean the windows and do a deep cleaning of my entire home! I DID NOT use their service but, I needed my baby grand piano moved on Sunday Aug 23,2020 as we were in an evacuation warning zone. My regular piano tuners/movers in Aptos were swamped but gave me Mod Movers and another movers name. I called Mod and talked Stepahine. Long story short, we talked, did call backs, etc and I finally booked for a Monday pick up. They were very expensive but they were in crisis mode too. Not 10 minutes after I booked and paid my deposit, my guy called saying he had a cancelation and could move me. The main thing was, he could store my piano in his warehouse vs Mod moving to it to a smoky house Salinas. I called Stephanie right back to cancel, figuring I would loose my deposit. She put me on hold, then came back and advised she would be able to refund my deposit. She was very friendly, easy to understand, answered all kinds of questions and despite having been on the phone with me for, gosh, 45 minutes, was pleasant when I canceled. Out of several movers, I called for quotes, this company had very additive pricing and I was impressed with their professionalism. They ended up charging me less than they quoted, and showed up exactly when they were supposed to the next morning, the guys that did the move were super super nice and respectful of my home and being very careful to move in to couches that were, a very tight fit through my garage door into my family room passing some fragile glass pictures which I just knew were going to get hit and knocked on the floor but of course these guys were so careful and slow coming in that they didn't touch the walls or hit anything. I will absolutely use them again if I need to have furniture moved, which is what this was, or even a whole house move if that meat ever arises. I highly recommend them!!!! read more

I needed to move a baby grand piano and called MM. The office staff responded immediately to my request for information about the process and an estimate for cost (Which was the final charge, no surprises.) They answered my questions and emailed a contract by the next day. Vanessa was cheerful and patient with changing conditions on our end. She was able to schedule the move when I needed it. The crew: Josh, Luis and David showed up exactly according to the contract. They introduced themselves, explained the plan, asked if I had any questions. They took great care with the piano, moving other things out of the way and loading the truck. It was the same on the other end. Professional and friendly, the guys did a fabulous job. Josh, Javier and Sammy did a great job not damaging our freshly refinished hardwood floors during the move. They brought everything into the correct rooms and disassembled and reassembled several pieces of furniture, as well as stopping to put felt pads on everything before setting stuff down on the hardwood floors. I didn't put everything I needed moved on the inventory declaration so they had to increase the rate slightly, but they were very up front about how much the added cost would be before they started working. Not their fault, just make sure you get everything you need added to the inventory in advance! I would hire Mod Movers again. read more

Mod Movers - what a great experience from start to finish! Professionals in every way from the office to the moving crew. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process -via phone, text and email. Called on a Monday and luckily they had a Tuesday availability. Manuel & his crew were so professional & yet very warm & sweet as they took such great care of every item they packed. They packed things with such care that I would have just thrown into a box... It was truly an experience seeing the care they took in everything they did to help me get things packed & moved & took such a heavy load off my shoulders! I have not moved in 20 years. Without Mod MOVERS It would have been a NIGHTMARE. I cannot believe how efficient they were! What would've taken us a week, was done in less than 8 hours. They wrap your televisions, they wrap all fragile things, and they have state of the art, brand new trucks! If you are going to move I highly recommend mod movers! There were a few significant challenges on the move-in side to my 2nd story rental unit. Two 90" sofas were innovatively hoisted from the truck, up and over my balcony, through french doors, and into the living room...done and done. My dining room table includes two acrylic pedestals and a very heavy (and breakable) glass top. Crated and uncrated carefully, the crew took extra time and care to place the rug and assembled table precisely centered under the existing chandalier. As it would be difficult for me to make adjustments later, they far exceeded my expectation on this important (to me) task. I appreciated that my beds were set up, including bedding, all clothes in wardrobes were hung in the closets, and then those large boxes taken away. I was happy (and relieved) that my final cost came in slightly under estimate. I sensed that Leo and the team were carefully working on my behalf to reach this goal. I highly recommend Cardinale Moving & Storage. You guys are great from top to bottom!

I found out that he was in communication with our office a couple days prior to this interaction - where he admitted to moving their office address! The team worked efficiently and packed the truck expertly--everything was secure, and nothing was broken or damaged, which really speaks to their care and experience. Toward the end of the move things did slow down a bit, but we were also coming up on nearly seven straight hours of work, so that was completely understandable. By the end, most of the large furniture items were placed inside the house as requested, and the majority of the boxes were left neatly in the garage, which will make unpacking fairly manageable. Overall, great service, strong work ethic, and a crew that clearly knows what they're doing. I would absolutely recommend Peninsula Pack and Move, especially for more complex moves.

The workers were not efficient with packing the truck, layering things, one layer deep and then taking an unpacked load. This happened not once but twice, stretching out the hourly rate they were making. They did not hook up my washer and dryer as I was told they would and they damaged two pieces of furniture without disclosing they had. We ended up having to rent a U-Haul truck for two more days to finish what they weren't able to finish and this was after we had already packed a PODS container to the max in our driveway. So the stuff they were responsible for moving was mainly furniture. This is not the first time I have moved a moving company in Monterey County and so I had an idea of approximate cost and time. This company milked the clock, costing me more than twice what the move cost the previous time. At one point while moving some furniture at my old place, one of the movers voiced that he had stolen a piece of candy from me. I didn't think it was any big deal and laughed it off, but it made me wonder why he would do that and if he had done it before. When I attempted to contact the owner, David, I left a message, letting him know that I had issues and wanted to talk to him and rather than calling me back, he text me to tell me that he was really busy and that he was able to text. I would assume that being a local company wanting to make a great name, he would've contacted me back to figure out what happened and how he could make things better. The lack of upfront communication carelessness, and the fact that they took advantage of the situation is unacceptable. I expected better. If I could leave zero stars, I would. The service provided on June 27, was not $2500 worth. Do NOT book this company.

Went to great lengths and expense coordinating pickup with another party and Tavares. As the pickup/drop off date got closer I hadn't heard anything from Tavares. I began to send messages through yelp, via text, then finally called leaving multiple voicemails. I have not received a response after 3 days contacting them. On my first call, the phone rang like normal. After that every time I called it went straight to voicemail, I believe they blocked my number. If you changed your mind or something came up and you can no longer do a job, just let your customer know. Don't leave them in the dark and block their number.
