We had a great experience with Peninsula Pack and Move. This was a challenging move with a difficult house to move out of and into, and the crew handled it professionally from start to finish. The team worked efficiently and packed the truck expertly--everything was secure, and nothing was broken or damaged, which really speaks to their care and experience. Toward the end of the move things did slow down a bit, but we were also coming up on nearly seven straight hours of work, so that was completely understandable. By the end, most of the large furniture items were placed inside the house as requested, and the majority of the boxes were left neatly in the garage, which will make unpacking fairly manageable. Overall, great service, strong work ethic, and a crew that clearly knows what they're doing. I would absolutely recommend Peninsula Pack and Move, especially for more complex moves. read more

The movers were late (past the range they gave). They were sweet men, however, the time required for such a small amount of belongings is absolutely astonishing. I moved from an apartment to a furnished home only 15 minutes away. I supplied approximately $200 in moving materials, yet the move still took 7 hours and cost $1,200 (Paid Zelle to avoid another 5% added). In total, my move today (pictured here) was $1400, two boxes of kitchen supplies(as I again, am moving into a furnished home), my clothes, and my daughters room belongings. Two men = 14 hours of labor for this? The math is just not mathing for me. Billing also began before any actual moving started, which added to my frustration- they parked on the wrong street at said "arrival" time on paper. I move an average of 1-2 per year and I have never had service take this long nor be this expensive. I would not hire these movers simply because you can find people to give you a great service and work very efficiently. read more

We use this company to move out of our home booking was easy, reasonably priced and quick. It was explained at Booking that I would have no problem. Re-hiring them to move to our new house. They placed all of our stuff in storage and the three guys working did an amazing job. However, when we move to our new home and we hired the same company, we had one less guy for the same price which naturally took them longer. It was not explained that due to it not being in San Benito county the price was different. I figured I was just miscommunication and continue the service. Once we got to our new location, I noticed a lot of the items were broken, and the mover said that it was due to the weight of the item and that the original mover should have dismantled the furniture fast forward to getting our stuff into our home, the movers said they cannot build our furniture to them, not being the ones to dismantle some of it. I explained it was not explained to me that it was going to be an issue and that I did book same company that dismantled my furniture after talking to the supervisor he explained it wouldn't be a problem. However, the mover stated it would take him a long time due to not being the one to dissemble, and I was going to end up paying more for him trying to figure it out. I wish I would've known this, and I would have gone with another company that was five dollars more an hour however they took pictures of the items when dismantling them and explained it was not a problem to put it back together if we hired them. I am now having to build the bed myself having to buy a new dresser that cost me $500 and buying new cubes for my clothes since they were ripped. ** updating to explain for response** My bed frame is from living spaces and dresser is from Ashley's not IKEA. The cubes are from ikea but the actual broken pieces were very pricey and sturdy material. The people that disassembled our furniture from your company or yourself did not explain that they were the same individuals that needed to assemble it in order to not have problems. If I book you for moving out and into a new home it shouldn't be my responsibility to have the same people loading and u unloading my items. The movers made it very clear that they did not know how to put my items together since they were not the ones to disassemble however, I paid the same amount so why am I the one to be at a disadvantage. It shouldn't be the customers responsibility to get the same set of movers. We did speak on the phone that day and the employee said he would try but it would take him "an extremely Long time because all of these screws, I don't know where they go" I pay per hour so it would be on my dime for them to figure it out. Just a recommendation to have your employee take photos and maybe have them send it to you so you can ensure it can be assembled if they book you again and not have to deal with my dilema. No I declined paying $49 an hour for insurance. Both jobs took 7-9 hours so that would be pricey. It was a risk I took and now paying for it. Thanks read more

We rented a UHaul ourselves and only needed help unloading it at our son's apartment in Monterey. We got a quote from 3 places in the area and they all were about the same hourly rate but Peninsula Pack and Move only had a 2 hour minimum compared to 4 for the other places. That was perfect because we didnt have much stuff but a few heavy things that we needed help with. David was very accommodating in scheduling our move and was very responsive. Chris and Jesus came for the move and they were awesome. They moved everything quickly and even had to take a bedframe apart to get it in but they had tools and took care of it all. We are very happy that we chose Penninsula Pack and Move. We made the initial reservation with David, and the price he quoted was in our budget. Their fees were transparent with no hidden surprises. The movers arrived a bit earlier to get started. They called us beforehand to make sure the earlier start was OK. Their truck had more than enough cubic space to comfortably load our items so they were able to make the move in one trip. They quickly disassembled things that were too big to move through the door in one shot. They made it up and down the stairs without any scratches or damage to the walls and floor. The estimator failed. And then when he was called on it, he said "you have a history of being a mover, you know that sometimes you can't get it all in the truck" NEVER IN MY MOVING EXPERIENCE DID WE LEAVE CLIENTS PROPERTY 226 miles away from their new home. Then try to get a new contract signed to move the items. No. You were hired specifically to move a three bedroom house, with 5 pieces specifically mentioned on the walk through. Two of those pieces are now 226 miles away and I'll have to arrange someone else to pick up. That being said, the three movers worked hard and fast and were pleasant to deal with. They did everything they could and packed the truck in record time. I would hope this company that has many names retired this estimator and hire someone who knows the job. I'll arrange for the left behind items to be moved by another company. This one can't handle the big loads. read more

These guys were absolutely great. Three young guys showed up to my mom's house on time, worked quickly, and took great care of her antiques, wrapping them in blankets and plastic. They helped me organize the storage unit. Done in nine hours with a 3-hour commute from Monterey to Contra Costa. My only recommendation is bring cash to pay for the move (calculate the number of hours x hourly rate). Zelle (through Chase) was unreliable. I had to pay a 5% service fee for using a card. Peninsula pack and move did a great job helping my daughter move across Santa Cruz after ucsc graduation. I got a late start scheduling this but they were very accommodating and had a crew and truck for my preferred time. They arrived promptly and got right to work and finished in the estimated time. Super efficient, careful and conscientious; the moving men were awesome. Clean, friendly, polite and charming. They helped me move a heavy table i had driven over in my car. Pros: -Easy to get a quote and decent pricing ($115 per hour for two movers with a truck). -Very kind, hardworking movers. They were patient with my mother who at times was unclear or changed her mind about where she wanted furniture located. I never saw them take a break, other than when I forced them to stop for pizza. They had an excellent attitude, although they weren't the fastest movers I've ever had. -They showed up on-time within their half hour window. Cons: -They showed up with blankets but didn't really use them as much as I'd have liked. A few pieces of the more heavy furniture got pretty dinged up and it could have been avoided if they used the blankets they had. My dryer is also a bit worse for the wear. -Communication about billing could be improved. There were some charges that caught us off guard (3% for using a credit cards, insurance, etc). The charges weren't necessarily unfair, but I think had they been communicated up front it would have been better. The pricing wasn't all that competitive once the fees were added in. Would I hire them again? Yes, but I'd be more insistent that they use blankets on stuff. read more

This moving company showed up on time, which was 9 o'clock on a Monday morning. They were professional and friendly. They did a wonderful job of protecting our furniture and items. They were also mindful of our two dogs. We arrived at our new destination ahead of schedule, which meant that it would not be as expensive as we thought.Our Destiination had 27 steps. These movers never complained and took all of our items respectfully into the house. I would highly recommend these movers. (My take away from this experience is to use professional movers even if you're moving from one unit to another. Our previous property management company recommended their friends and they charged us much more money and ruined several pieces of furniture. They also did not show up on time.) read more

The two young guys who did the job were pleasant people. Late and confused but nice guys. The damage done costs less than $40 for me to replace but the response when I tried to report it to them was not what I expect from any company. Professional would be the last word I could use to describe this company. They removed a couch to be given to friend and in the process they broke my thermostat off the wall along with other small issues but they are easy to buff out. When they were going down the hall, I was behind them. I heard something when it happened but they played it off and replaced the thermostat onto the wall plate before I could see what happened. They said it was nothing but I did notice a little tooth pick sized plastic on the ground but I honestly thought it fell out of the couch and I got distracted because they were about to run into a light fixture near the bedroom. They eventually gave up on going through the hallway/bedroom. And got stuck again at the front door, so I had to help them get out. As I was reattaching the front doors, they left and I walked back in and inspected the house & that's when I noticed the thermostat dial looked weird. It looked weird because they broke the little adjustment dial off the face of the thermostat. When I tried to put it back on the whole thermostat fell off and hung by the wires! When we called the moving team they didn't answer so I called their business number where I was talked over by some young guy telling me he couldn't do anything about it and they aren't responsible. I repeatedly tried to get a word in but he would repeat the same line. When he finally stopped I recommended he get a report from the guy who moved it and I asked to be contacted by an owner because I want to report the mover. He then said he heard from the mover that they bumped something on the wall and that both he and the mover are co-owners. I said if I were him I would wait and get the full story from the mover. Then he said "I feels like I'm being recorded" and told me that no insurance will help because the option was declined by the friend who called for the survive and then he hung up when I tried to ask him about the situation. I even gave them a hand when they struggled to maneuver the couch but this is the return!! Beyond disappointed and yeah it's inexpensive to replace a thermostat but the principle of having "pros" behave this way is why I am here writing. So my warning, the negligence and disrespect of those involved in this company might be a minute expression of their true company culture. I would never recommend this company to anyone. 0/5 stars. Update: The phone number to speak to this company is the phone number provided here on this Yelp page. Now I see they responded to my review and they basically claim 'you have the wrong guy.'
