Her smile, demeanor and attitude simply painted a picture of stellar and genuine customer service. Veronica has the gift of greeting and servicing the clients needs at check-in. We had a fantastic time at the bar area with service from Gerardo, another Veronica, David, Ricky and Jennifer all amazing individuals. We have known Gerardo for years and he is an amazing authentic and compassionate man with a gift to serve. I often state that people and relationship far exceed the location or event and here at JW you get the best of both worlds. Wonderful people and a slice of heaven here in Palm Desert. Veronica provided us a lovely view suite with the comforts of home. Marriott offers the best in their JW lineup and we are so pleased with the amenities, choices of dining and options including the spa, fitness center and even a boat ride around the Facilities. The staff truly made our stay 5 plus stars and tomorrow we celebrate my wife's birthday at Mikado another wonderful option at JW Marriott. Being a Bonvouy card holder the point system, features and membership offers are terrific and we utilize them often. Also Michelle is housekeeping was super efficient and very kind. Great lodging, dining, amenities and an amazing array of staff members who welcome and treat you like family. A Starbucks on site, music on Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's a great breakfast option at Starwood, several bars, multiple pools and water features, shops on site and even a nightclub. Lots of the pool chairs looked like they've seen better days as well as hallways and other common areas. The thing that was the most off putting is the pool seems like it's turned into a public pool. No key card is needed, no one is watching the door... anyone can walk in. I definitely noticed a lot of people who seemed to be using the pool that weren't staying at the hotel. Overall, I rather stay at other Marriott properties. The extra money isn't worth staying here.

The resort is beautiful, family-friendly, and offers something for everyone. We spent hours enjoying the lazy river, water slides, pools, and all of the activities throughout the property. ALSO, the food from the Splashtopia area was super good! What truly made our stay special was the outstanding staff. Ashlee Flores at the front desk was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and accommodating during both check-in and check-out. She made us feel valued and taken care of from start to finish. We also want to recognize Ed and Mickey from Concierge, along with Jasmine, the hotel operator, who helped coordinate a birthday surprise that my mother arranged for our daughter before we arrived. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made her birthday even more memorable. The magic show was also super fun! Every team member we encountered was attentive, friendly, and eager to help. The service, amenities, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations. Our initial room was infested with mosquitoes, forcing us to wake our four-year-old in the middle of the night to switch rooms. The replacement room was worse, featuring broken bathroom tiles and brown running water. We attempted to call the front desk but no one answered. We let the water run for 30 mins and that seemed to help. We are also incredibly disappointed with our recent experience at the pool. For a $400 rental fee at the gazebo I expected a luxurious, relaxing day, but it fell flat on every front. It took over 45 minutes just to put in our initial drink orders. The staff seemed inattentive and overwhelmed, which made us feel completely neglected. The physical condition of the gazebo was awful. The privacy buckles were broken, and the space was downright filthy. For the price being charged, basic upkeep and cleanliness should be a bare minimum. Like I said, it's our fourth year in a row coming to this location as a family and it was the first time we felt the amount spent and the quality of the experience fell short this year.

I accidentally dropped one of my earrings down the bathroom sink drain and was convinced it was gone for good. I reported it to the front desk and hoped for the best. When we returned later that day, I was thrilled to find my earring safely waiting in the room along with a note from Edgar. He took the time and effort to retrieve it, and I was incredibly grateful. What could have been a disappointing vacation moment turned into a great memory because of his kindness and willingness to help. Prior to our…read moretrip, my husband had made several attempts--over the course of months--to upgrade our reservation to a two-bedroom unit. Each call to the 1-800 number involved wait times exceeding 45 minutes, but we were consistently reassured that an upgrade could be accommodated upon arrival. Unfortunately, this was not the case. At check-in, the front desk informed us they could not assist and directed us to contact the 1-800 number again. After doing so, we spoke with a representative who reviewed the notes from our previous calls and confirmed that an upgrade should be possible. We were advised to request a manager upon returning to the desk. However, after waiting in line again and explaining the situation, the manager declined to come out and instead relayed through staff that the last two-bedroom unit had already been taken. As a family of five, a one-bedroom was not suitable, but we decided to move forward and make the best of the situation. Upon arriving at Building 6, we were immediately concerned by the condition of the property. The stairwells had visible cobwebs and scattered trash, giving the impression of poor upkeep. When we entered the unit, it was clear the space was not well designed for comfort. The living area was cramped due to excessive, unnecessary furniture, and both the living room and bedroom felt tight and poorly arranged. The bathroom was adequately sized but only had a single sink. The shower/tub leaked water, and the shower curtain appeared insufficient, which likely contributed to visible water damage. There was also noticeable mold and general uncleanliness in the bathroom. The carpeting throughout the unit appeared heavily soiled. The pool experience was also disappointing. The property advertises multiple pools, including two with water slides. On our second day, we attempted to enjoy these amenities, only to find that one of the main pools connected to a slide was closed, with assurances it would reopen the following day. At the main pool, we found the patio furniture in poor condition--cushions were torn and visibly dirty--and the pool water itself appeared unclean. Additionally, there was ongoing construction nearby, which disrupted the environment and required guests, including my daughter, to repeatedly accommodate workers passing through. We moved to a quieter pool area, which was somewhat better, but the water still appeared less than clean. On the third day, the previously closed pool remained unavailable, adding to our frustration. We eventually found another pool area that was better maintained, with cleaner seating. Food service was also inconvenient, as everything had to be ordered through a mobile system with no traditional waitstaff, which made the experience less enjoyable. Other issues included receiving extra blankets and pillows delivered in trash bags, which felt highly unprofessional. The pull-out sofa bed was in poor condition, with torn bedding and what appeared to be stains on the mattress. Overall, after four days, we were ready to return home. This was one of the most disappointing stays we have experienced. The lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and unresponsive customer service made it difficult to enjoy what should have been a relaxing family trip.

The pool area, which is supposed to be one of the highlights of the hotel, was also disappointing. The water did not appear clean, no where is the waitresses to come to our pool after we spent over 1000 for the weekend. For the price charged, I expected a much higher standard in terms of cleanliness, service, and overall upkeep. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and I would not choose to stay here again.

All in all, it just didn't feel like a high-end resort, and there was a general lack of care and attentiveness across the board. A manager checked in with us during our dinner, at which point I communicated that we had been provided no forks for our dessert--and the response was something akin to "I ALWAYS get on them about this!" or "I have to remind them over and over..." So this was apparently a common issue. Again, front desk employees don't care--there was no explaining that there are bikes available to guests or citrus to pick and get juiced. Not welcoming. And barely acknowledged me when I dropped the keys off as I checked out. WiFi was bad in the room--but front desk didn't pick up when I called. Also poor cell service on the property. The food was good and the property looks lovely. Room was nice. Although you could see the bathroom door was swelled from water damage. And that looks tacky. It feels like there's a lack of good candidates for staffing in the desert. And perhaps poor training. I want to feel like the staff wants to be there. Pretend and help keep up the illusion. Both my girlfriend and I left feeling a bit disappointed--and seeing the cracks in the illusion.
