This is a lovely little hotel/motel located in Palm Desert. Staff is so nice and the reception courteous. Make sure you let them know if you check in after six pm because they have someone in the hotel but not in the office at late hours; you just have to call them on the hotel call box. The hotel has a gorgeous pool and jacuzzi and even a little putting green and a lounge area by the pool. It's done with a lot of love and the owners are obviously very attentive to the property as it's beautifully kept. There seems to be ample parking and it all circles around the hotel rooms, so if you're lucky, you can find a parking spot right by your room. I didn't have a problem finding parking for my room even on a Friday night; reception told me there is "overfill parking" if the regular spots are full, but I'm not sure where that is. Make sure to ask in case the parking lot is full. Parking is free! Rooms are spacious with microwave, fridge, coffee/tea maker, large closets and a full bathroom. Bathrooms are immaculate with a bathtub and shower head. Some rooms have a pool view and/or mountain view. There are also suites with a kitchen. The Inn at Deep Canyon was truly a phenomenal stay when it came to an overnight trip that had amenities we needed and a proximity to our adventures. My experience is from the perspective of a person with disabilities who travels with mobility aides. In reality I never book true "ada" rooms because of the harsh reality hotels never have enough availability to accommodate those of us who require them or rooms being out of order forcing us to smaller rooms . I book rooms that makeup in space and comfortability to avoid that risk. We were booked in a spacious one bedroom queen suite with a separate bedroom. Located on the second floor please not this is a small mom and pop hotel. There is no bell service and no elevators to assist with getting to the top floor. We did struggle getting our luggage up the stairs but managed. Walking into our room Exceeded my expectations. Our room included not one but two decent sized bathrooms complete with their own shower/bath combo that provided railing which helped aided those of us with disabilities. The handrails in the shower were placed in a comfortable position for me to get in and out. The the kitchen was lovely. A working stove oven combination , counter space and a full size refrigerator freezer combination are a nice amenity. The microwave was extremely high and at 4'10 i needed to stand on the chair to reach. The couch was so comfortable I accidentally fell asleep on it at night and slept comfortably until morning while my mom slept in the bedroom with the queen bed comfortably. A feature not necessarily highlighted was the spacious balcony overlooking the pool area. It was nice and relaxing to sit out on and read a book. The hotel does have a rule of noise level after 10pm which was no issue. A selling point for me was despite the noise rule the pool area is 24hours. The pool was sparkly clean and warm. The hot tub was a decent size and a great temperature. The courtyard not only featured a pool and spa? It came equipped with ample variety of seating, cabana seating and picnic area. A quaint little putting green centered off to the side near the picnic area feateard grills as well. Parking for the hotel wasn't the best when it came to ada parking and large enough spaces for those who travels with large SUV'S. The gentleman reccomended parking on the street which we did and had no issues at night. The hotels location was very close to our activities at acrisure arena, the living desert zoo and places such as the grand Hyatt,Shopping centers and plenty of food spaces. We looked for specific amenities and this hotel delivered. It was quiet clean , spacious and relaxing. For this not being an ada room the size and space was comfortable. They need to remodel the pool, The pool is really cold as long as I stayed there pretty much nobody was in the pool because it's just too cold and then the whole bottom floor of the pool when you get in it's all broken up and shredded so you were walking on the broken up cement on the bottom of the pool throughout the pool.... This place is always busy so I can't believe that they haven't upgraded the pool They have not fixed the pool, The room was nice, I slept well, The TV was fine The air conditioning was good.... My window never locked Not at all so if somebody wanted to get in my room through the window they could no matter how hard you try to shut it it does not shut. I don't usually stay at a 2 star motel. It was a mistake I made and could not change it. Luckily it turned out to be brilliant. This motel should be a 3 star. I had a problem and Kevin, the terrific manager upgraded me to a very large room. It was perfect. The pool/jacuzzi was excellent and good size. The rooms were spotless. Kevin proved to be one of the best managers I have dealt with in the many hotels I have gone to. Do not let the 2 star rating fool you. This place was excellent. Shhhh! This is the best kept secret in Palm Desert! My wife found a great rate for this extra large room right off of Highway 111, just around the corner from El Paseo. We loved the bed because it was oh so comfortable! The amenities included a mini fridge, a cute coffee maker, and a microwave. The pool and jacuzzi were right outside of our room, and the temperature was just right. The bathroom was large and the shower and bathtub were spacious. I used to be a Big Fan until, after spending hundreds of dollars here, I had an issue that I brought to the front desk. It wasn't handled with any sense of accommodation or hospitality. The staff's attitude changed like " Jekyll and Hyde". The clientele is comprised of disrespectful and selfish guests who are a bunch of drunks who play their dated boom boxes at high decibel levels-/ ZERO respect for the elderly. I was extremely kind and generous to the staff-- who turned on me after a well founded constructive criticism. I have a fantastic spot in Palm Desert where the management actually is " Guest Centered " and genuinely appreciates the patronage. The Inn's staff needs " Hospitality Training ". I booked 2 nights over spring break with my daughter. I called 2 days prior to request a room on the first floor, near the pool. We arrived around 3:30. They did not accommodate my request and the post it note with notes from my call was in full view on their desk. Our room was against an alley that had a drug dispensary on the other side of the alley wall. Our shower did not have a shower curtain. My car was vandalized during the day, while I was at the pool. Needless to say, it was a horrible experience. I did not feel safe. We left after 1 night. We were told the owner would be contacted to see if they could refund my second night. Nope! They charged me and no call to apologize or accommodate me. This is a run down apartment building converted into an "inn/hotel". It's a dump! Not safe. read more

We use to love this place before Covid. We finally found our way back! We used booking . Com to get a room that we felt was reasonably priced . We arrived 2 hours before the 4:00 pm check in. We were greeted by Kevin who was very pleasant and friendly and he got us into our room early . We were thrilled to be able to access the pool during the hot hours when so one was there. There is plenty of shade with the building g positions , vegetation and the umbrellas. We hung out for a few hours . We went off to dinner at a place close by, because Deep Canyon is situated close to the El Paseo district which is a fun hub for eating and shopping . Upon our return we decided to jacuzzi. The pool was busier but there were plenty of chairs and towels. Our room was smaller but we had everything we needed. We had French doors out to a sitting area where we sat in the morning drinking complementary coffee . And the night before we slept well either lots of air conditioning and 4 pillows. Upon checking out we saw Kevin again. We told him about Booking . Com and our desire to come back. He offered to beat their price and upgrade up for our next visit! What a great business t. Arrived around 3 p.m. to check in. Kevin checked us in. Great guy. Gave us Room 116 by the pool. Huge room with a fridge and microwave. Very comfortable bed. Free parking on the property. When we returned that night, all of the parking was full, but there was street parking. Easy. This is a very reasonably priced motel. Well cared for by Kevin and staff. Viviana checked us out. She was great, too. For such a great price, you can go have breakfast at any of the local eateries. read more

We stayed at The Inn at Deep Canyon on 74-470 Abronia Trail Palm Desert, CA 92260, this Saturday August 16th, for a quick get away and some much needed sun and vitamin D. I found it on Expedia and checked out the reviews. Then looked on Google and Yelp. The photos looked nice and the price was right and a room was available so I called and spoke to Viviana who was very helpful. She was very thorough about parking and what to do if we needed assistance after hours should we arrive late. Upon arrival we met Clare and explained we may stay 2 days. She said to let them know during checkout and they'd be happy to help. We walked through the lovely pool area to the very back where our room was. Which would be a cute walk if it was decorated a little better. When I walked in our room I wasn't very concerned as everything appeared to look great. We did noticed the bathroom was very hot as there isn't any airflow from the AC. As we put our things down and looked around we started seeing a few minor problems like the floor needed some attention, lots of hair on the towels, washcloths and robe. I called the front desk, Clare came right away and provided us with fresh towels and started sweeping and cleaning up a bit. Then later that night I noticed the shower was draining slow and there was a ring around the tub. So showering wasn't very pleasant. Upon checkout I handed Vivianna the survey card I filled out that is provided in the room. I told her the issues and she was very attentive and said she'd contact the owner and get back with me afterward to see what they can do. She asked if I wanted a refund and told her that was up to the owner but hope it doesn't happen to someone else. I normally take disinfectant wipes with me every time I stay anywhere. But it was more than a simple wipe could take care. I can't say I won't be back but if I do I'd ask them to please be sure to inspect the quaint room in the back and assure the towels and room are properly cleaned. I haven't heard back from them so I wanted to make sure the public was aware. read more

Is The Inn At Deep Canyon a decent place to stay? Yes. Is it more affordable than staying at a resort hotel? Absolutely. Could my stay have been better? Definitely. I came to town for a wedding and spent three nights here. Kevin was very friendly; he called me the day I was scheduled to arrive to ask if I had an ETA. When I checked in, he offered to upgrade my room for a small cost. I was there alone and didn't need much, so I declined. The bed was comfortable and I slept fairly well each night. I remember a dog barking early one morning, but overall, I had a quiet stay. I used the pool and hot tub a couple of times, which are always a nice plus while traveling. So why am I giving The Inn At Deep Canyon just three stars? 1) There is no continental breakfast, which is advertised on Yelp (See photo.) I asked Kevin about this; he let me know that they stopped because of COVID, and when they brought it back, no one showed up, so they ended up throwing out eggs and orange juice, etc. every day. As a person who hates food waste, I can appreciate stopping this practice. They should 2) The bathroom had a number of bluish spots on the wall. I went to the front desk the next morning and showed Kevin a photo. (See photo.) He thought it was a cleaning supply and offered to have housekeeping come check it out. I accepted the offer and thanked him, but no one stopped by over the following 48 hours. I hope they cleaned it better for the next guest. Also, it wasn't a problem, but the toilet was also missing a piece. (See photo.) 3) There was nowhere to fill up water, which I would argue is pretty important in the desert. The water from the bathroom sink had a distinct smell of sulfur and was not appealing. There is bottled water for sale at the front desk, but there should be another option. 4) There were an awful lot of hairs on one of my pillows. (See photo.) No, thanks! 5) I didn't lose any sleep over it, but I saw a cat drinking out of the pool. (See photo.) I'm not sure if it was a stray or if it belonged to another guest. P.S. Make sure you choose the address on Abronia Trail in Google Maps. I first drove to a location on California Drive -- maybe an old address? When I didn't see a sign for The Inn At Deep Canyon, I called and Kevin let me know the correct address. read more

Seriously, if I could give NO STARS, I would. Worst night I have ever spent in a hotel, ever! The room was not clean when we checked in (there was someone else's trash in the garbage cans and a used glass on the night stand, as well as dirty dishes in the cabinet!). There was an all-night, loud pool party and all the rooms are around the pool. When I called the night phone number, to ask if they could get the party to be quieter, so we could sleep, at 2:30 a.m., the voice-mail came on and said the mailbox was full and hung up. The night manager called me back at 3 am and told me the he couldn't really do anything about the noise (?!?). The next morning, there were empty booze bottles and garbage all around the pool area (even though no one is supposed to have any glass around the pool). I went into the office to complain, the person at the desk had nothing to offer me, not even an apology! Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! What a dump! read more

I will say the pictures I saw when I made the reservation did not do this place justice. The room was really nice and fresh. The bed was so soft and comfy. The guy who checked me on was awesome. I wish I would have got his name. The towels were so white and clean. I hate that I have to mention that but I've been in some places with some pretty dingy towels and bedding but every was nice and clean. I like that they have actual mugs for the coffee. Love that there was a ceiling fan and an AC. The AC was super crisp and cold which was much needed in that 111 degree weather. The only draw back was that the water that I put in the coffee pot from the sink was kinda cloudy which I think has to to with the pipes or something. It cleared up so it was all good. Good stay in a suite, quiet. Leave the bathroom door open at night, so that warm air can flow into the bathroom. When we checked in, the water was high in the toilet bowl, so the toilet was partially blocked. Used the plunger to let it flow freely. It would help if the bathroom had a fan. As we drove up we were quite concerned with the outward appearance as it looked quite dumpy. The interior of the rooms was old but clean and nice. However the old A/C units were very loud. The reason for two stars is the area. This hotel would be 3 or 4 stars if it was somewhere else. There was a VERY loud drunk group of drug addicts in a room nearby making noise all through the night. It was awful. Sirens all night as well. We saw a couple hookers walk by during our stay and one looked like she was using this place to get with clients. A drug deal went down across the street, and the area is filled with degenerates and low lifes. In general this whole area is filthy and immoral. read more

Kitchy older hotel with a nice pool The spa is currently under repair. Many rooms feature tripanel french doors opening to the pool or looking out to the pool from a second floor deck. Though the building is dated there's obvious upgrades to the rooms, fixtures, furniture, and our bed was very nice. The staff were helpful, but they close the office at 8pm and they must be summoned if issues arise via an after hours phone number. Because of its age there are narrow and uneven paved walkways. The parking is limited but there is parking on the street. The Inn is close to all attractions. read more

Booked here through Kayak. We were put in a decent room the first two nights. On Friday we asked if we could stay another night. The clerk told me 102 was open to come back at 11am . At 11 the owner I believe was at the desk and switched us to 101A . This room was a complete different deal. Half the size with a window unit and a mattress that was like sleeping on cement. I called and the owner came and says the air will just have to run for awhile??? And it did! All night !! And it did Not cool down the room. I woke up about 5 times. It was Miserable!! Do Not allow them to book you in this Substandard Room!! The other rooms have a central type air conditioner that isn't Loud and actually cools the room. The window unit blows cool air but never actually cools down the room. The parking was full and we parked on the street. Our car was okay. The breakfast is sweet bread and coffee. There is no sliced melon or berries. You would need to get your own. They do have a refrigerator in the room. read more

Went here for a summer pool party when I first got here I wasn't sure . Got inside our room and it was clean felt like I was at a Beach hotel so cute . Our AC wasn't working so Hotel services told us we would have to wait for the morning to get a handyman out to look at it we where bummed because it was very hot . It was already 6 pm so we understand . Luckily our friends were staying next-door to us . We had a walk-through door to our friends room so we open that door and was able to get AC from their room . The very next morning a handyman came looked at it and then told us he will just replace the whole unit with a new AC ! He came back with a new Ac installed it right away and it worked very good the room got super cold . This hotel went above and beyond for us thank you so much! Me and my husband had a fantastic weekend with friends we tell everyone about this fun weekend. Friends just having a good time getting away from life for the weekend Great place to unwind and relax . Not sure if there is more parking but where we parked we got lucky to get a parking spot.So keep parking in mind when going on a big weekend also keep in mind to ask if there is anything happening when you plan on going because adults come here to use the pool I was Reading through the comments . My husband and I stayed there in May 2024. When we got there, our assigned room was not ready. It would be another 2 hours to wait. So they gave us another room. It was inside the court yard. Was not too bad since we were tired and needed rest. Upon examining the room, I was astonished. Even the cheaper motels were never that bad. It was a big room with a short walk to the pool area. It had 2 beds,(the wall next to the bed had boogers smeared), a small area with a refrigerator and microwave. The shower was clean. The bathroom was old and needed updated. What astonished me was the baseboards. Someone has not been doing their cleaning job very well. The baseboards were filthy. FILTHY!! No exaggeration. You could see it clearly just looking at them.
