I have a unique experience to share that led us to Mod Pizza. For some reason, I won teacher of the year in my school district. The honor came with many coupons for free or discounted food. Included in my prize package was a coupon for Mod Pizza. We decided to try it at the American Fork restaurant. We were not disappointed. They offer pizza and salad. Each has one price regardless of the number of toppings. The staff, servers, and cooks were so much fun. They made the visit a pleasant experience. I honestly love MOD. I love that they open up a little later than most restaurants and it's a super quick grab and go. I also love it's unlimited toppings for a set price!!! Every experience I've had at MOD has always been pleasant. I usually take my pizza to go, but there's so much seating that you can have big group dine ins. I ordered a large Greek salad and added mushrooms and green peppers. It was really good. They added sweet hot peppers to the salad, which were totally my jam! I love spicy stuff. Everything on the salad was fresh and tasty. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because of 2 things. 1) a couple of the sweet peppers had a really odd flavor. I wasn't sure if they were bad or what. 2) there were supposed to be garbanzo beans in the salad and I got 2 congealed lumps of 3-4 garbanzo beans that were all stuck together. No other garbanzo beans at all! Neither of these things were very appetizing. But these 2 things were small compared to how good the salad was. Oh and the salad dressing was really good too! I'm surprised it's taken me so long to try MOD Pizza since I've lived in the area for quite awhile. Especially since the location of this shop is perfect with easy access right in the heart of American Fork and plenty of parking. I especially noticed how friendly the staff was and how they hopped right into gear when we walked in even though we came in right after the lunch rush had died down. That might have contributed to the state of the dining area as it felt a little "beat up" or worn down even though there wasn't any obvious trash or mess left out, it just felt a little less tidy overall. I don't think the pizza was as good as many of the other options in the area but I appreciate that they have a build-your-own option because I like to stack my pizza with toppings. They were even able to get my two friends and I through the line quickly and we didn't have to wait long at all for our pizzas to be ready. Ultimately I had a good experience here and I'd recommend it for a quick bite if you're craving pizza. I think I'll probably go a little out of the way for other options but that's just me being picky about my pizzas. read more

Love this place! This is our go to pizza place. We love their Greek salad. A lot of pizza places have terrible salads but the Greek salad here is delish and provides a nice balance to the pizza. The dressing for it is drool worthy. We also enjoy the cheesy garlic bread w/ pesto sauce. One of our fav things about Mod is that they don't charge you for add ons for pizzas. So our fav is the Jasper but we add Asiago cheese, pepperoni, basil, green bell peppers, red onion, sliced tomatoes, and a pesto drizzle. As many others have said, this does seem to be another in a line of many pop up fast-pizza places. Doesn't rank as my top choice but decently good. Service was great and friendly. I will say that. As for the food, they have a few options listed for you as choices or you can create your own. And they have pizzas or salads available. I tried creating my own pizza and was mostly pleased, but their artichokes tasted really weird. I had to pull them off the pizza. But their balsamic fig glaze is really delicious and I would put that on many different options. My friends seemed very pleased with ones they had that they had chosen from the menu. So maybe I just struggle with flavor combinations? Place is clean and they have seating inside and out. Overall, yeah I would return. But wouldn't go out of my way. read more

This was not only the slowest mod I've ever been to, but it was also one of the slowest build-as-you-go-down-the-line restaurants I've ever been to! I absolutely love mod but waiting 25 minutes to order with a super normal sized line is just unacceptable. The employees just worked so incredibly slow and were a mixture of apathetically careless and what you would expect from a good, average worker. Even though the location's service is so terrible, the ingredients, ease of customization, and speed of baking was as you would find at any mod- absolutely terrific. There are so many topping choices, and you can always request a little more of this, or just a little of that. Plus, getting your pizza in a box is so helpful and efficient in use of materials. When they give you your pizza at the end when it's finished baking, you can get a number of sauces drizzled on top and some to dip like ranch, which I love. I went on my lunch break, to get a salad. I had roughly 30 minutes, waited in line for about 15-20ish mins. Just to get told that the salad would still take 10 to 15 minutes when it was finally my turn. Only , a woman and two children in front of me, and the MOD team had looked to be very understaffed and was not trained properly/efficiently. Not the friendliest service when I finally got up to talk to them. And I can't speak upon the quality of the food because I didn't get a chance to even order it. I can understand waiting for your pizza, but for a salad, you should not have to wait 15 minutes I believe. read more

They had one person making pizzas and checking people out for in-store customers. I waited in line for 45 mins to order a pizza. Soooo slow

I ordered a salad and the server left to get more lettuce in the back room. He went through a very dirty looking door and used his serving gloves to push the door open on the way in and on the way out. When he returned he did not clean his hands and used those same serving gloves to put all of the ingredients on my salad. This was not sanitary at all. Also, I ordered the Greek salad and it looked nothing like the picture that I ordered from. It was 90% lettuce and there were very few on the toppings on it. The server did offer to put more toppings on it and gave me a few more. However, it still was not the salad that I ordered and certainly not worth the money. Wow! In summary: my number one choice for Pizza in Utah County. 5x better than blaze or Midci and an excellent place for your friends with Celiac or lactose intolerance. Try their BBQ or seasonal pumpkin. With a setup similar to Subway and Cafe Rio, these pizzas are made to order in front of you. I suggest starting with one of their signature pizzas, but feel free to add more toppings as their toppings do not cost extra. No that's not a typo. Extra toppings don't cost extra here. For example, I chose the seasonal pumpkin pizza made up of: pumpkin purée, Canadian bacon, hot peppers, arugula, balsamic fig reduction; but then I chose to add chicken and sweet potato. So delicious! Not only are extra toppings free, they are also not stingy with them the way other places are such as Blaze pizza (see my other review). At "other places" additional toppings were applied so sparingly that sometimes they would only be on one of my slices. At Mod they've struck a nice balance between adding plenty of the requested topping while spacing it out well to end up on each slice, but not overpower other toppings. At other places (such as Blaze or Midici) i received a flat bread with minimal sauce, minimal toppings and minimal flavor. MOD was refreshingly the opposite of this. MOD's regular and gluten free crust recipes trounce the competition. At Blaze and Midici I spent twice as much money (ordering two pizzas) and left hungry, but one MOD pizza filled and satisfied me. In fact, the second time I visited MOD I even took some of my pizza home. Note: during my second visit I added two extra toppings one of which was chicken. In general this place operates on a much higher level than Blaze or Midici pizza. While the setup looks deceptively similar, MOD's recipes are better, their ingredients tastier, and they are less stingy with toppings! read more

This place is pretty awesome! Brought my 3 little ones on a daddy date and they loved it! The wait was a bit long but we came on a Friday night. The service was great! I love when I get asked if I've been before and when I say I haven't then I get extra help. They explained the process and helped us out. Got the Mad Dog pizza. Pepperoni, sausage and hamburger sausages. To take home for my wife I got the Gluten-Free crust and the Dairy-Free cheese on a pepperoni pizza. It was delicious. They even explain that it's not a gluten safe zone which is nice to explain. (So be careful if you need that) Fun environment, fun music, super helpful staff. Plenty of seats even with it busy. Before I begin I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I've been there several times and the pizza is so good! I love the thin crust and how fast it's made. I always get the cheese pizza (I think it's called "Maddy"???), and it's so good! The no name cake also seems like a ding dong thing you can buy at Walmart but it's MUCH better! And the key lime cake thing is actually sour and really good! My dad and brother HATE thin crust pizza, but yet LOVED this pizza. On our rates out of 10, I gave 10/10, my brother gave 9/10 and my dad gave 8/10. It's awesome pizza for a good price and we got ours in less than 5 minutes and it was busy!!! I 100% recommend you at the very least give this place a try! So good and I'm definitely going to be going some more!!! read more

Good ingredients for a good price. We got in and out fairly quick for a Tuesday night (right before $5 movie night - we saw a few people at the theater that we saw at Mod). The pizza takes about 5 minutes to cook up after going through the line and paying for it. Crust keeps its shape (crispy, not soggy). The options say thin or thick crust but we weren't asked which and ended up with thin. The thick could be soggier, so keep in mind that my crisp comment is rated on the thin crust. There isn't a lot of seating inside, but it seemed like the turnover went swiftly - we were in and out within 30 minutes. The bar tables are nice size but the stools are not comfortable at all; the footrest is too low (I'm 5'9, my 6'4 husband thought they were low too) and the seat very small). The booths are flat wood; tough on the tushy - good thing seating is fast. Mad Dog: The spicy Italian sausage plus sprinkling grated Parmesan made the difference on taste; otherwise ours (substituted beef for bacon) would've been bland. Dominic and white sauce: Thank goodness I thought to add balsamic glaze at the finish or the would've tasted like nothing: the white sauce looks/tastes like white gravy (should have more garlic and Parmesan) and we couldn't taste the basil (maybe do a pesto swirl to help that?). I suggest switching the mild sausage to the spicy for better flavor. Red onion: Wish it was chopped; instead they lay on about 3 rings which 1) makes it tough to taste in every bite and 2) it sometimes doesn't break with the bite, so I had to saw it apart with my teeth. TL;DR Design your own pizza vs. choosing their classic and pick the quantity that gives you all the flavors in one bite. White sauce is like white gravy instead of Alredo. Pizza is fast and great price for typical toppings. Friendly crew! read more

Above average thin crust pizza (they only have thin crust as an option) that is wood fired and allows unlimited toppings for no additional cost. The location is nicely remodeled with a clean and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and welcoming and were able to understand my order requests and hustled to get our food to us as fast as possible. Thin crust can be hard to get right. It either is easily burned or undercooked and soggy. Luckily, MOD was able to cook it right in the middle with a good non burned crunch and stable ness but not soggy. I felt the toppings were a bit light but this was my first time and didn't realize I could keep asking for more. Some regulars near us showed how it should be done by loading up their pizzas. Also the crust and the toppings were largely tasteless so I recommend piling on toppings and also getting an extra sauce at the end. We had balsamic added to one of the pizzas and it was so much better with that. Much more flavor. I haven't been to Pieology or the other plethora of chain pizza places cropping up in Utah county so I can't compare. I can say this was better than Little Cesars but not as good as Midichi in Orem. read more

So thankful for this fresh, allergy friendly pizza shop especially during #stayathome. My son loves the gluten free crust, non dairy cheese and tons of choice in toppings. I really like that they have an online order drive up window at this location. You can order online or over the phone then 20 min later just drive up to the window and they give you your pizza (you pay online or over the phone). They have daiya cheese available and lots of veggies for the create your own pizzas. A mini, 6 inch pizza is only 6$. I do like the taste of the pizza at their Saratoga Springs location a bit better because at the American Fork location it feels like they leave the pizza in for about 30 seconds too long because it's kind of crispy. But the convenience of the drive up window usually wins for me since I have three little kids and don't want to get them all out of the car lol. read more

I LOVE MOD, but tonight I was frustrated by the service. I come to this location most frequently, and it's usually a lovely experience. I am particularly annoyed because other than Mallory, the other two staff were seemingly wasting time. I felt like Mallory did all the work as one sat on the pizza counter by the oven, and the other crouched beneath the drive-thru window. Mallory was very kind and greeted me as I walked in. I was immediately greeted as I approached the counter, again by Mallory. Mallory's service was punctual and enjoyable :) Please reaffirm with your employees that this is not the high school locker room and if they are going to sit around, at least don't do it where customers can see you not working. Their lack of contribution to the team service was very very little and it made a difference in the environment. I'm sure the manager is very kind... but my point in this review is not to tear you apart. It's unethical and unfair to the employees who do their jobs but are only commended for their bare minimum expectations. I would appreciate the urgency and respect that Mallory demonstrated, regarding the rest of the staff. There are other locations and if it means I drive in a different direction, then I'll do it. Fantastic pizza!! This place is make YOUR own ANY way, yes any way you want it! Complete control of what goes on all the way down to the sauce! There are a few things on the menu that you can order as popular suggestions if you can't decide. But I highly suggest getting that "MOD" which is around $7 for an 11 inch pie of deliciousness of any amount of toppings you want and create your masterpiece! You will follow along the assembly line and they put it in the wood fire oven at the end and out pops your pizza in less than 5 minutes! Nice thin crust that is somehow moist even though it's thin. Crunchy but not hard as rocks. There is a wide variety of toppings, fresh as well as roasted, all very flavorful. The roasted garlic cloves was a favorite! A member of my party ordered a side salad and a couple pieces of lettuce were brown but we just picked it out because the rest looked and tasted great! The soda fountain has extras, pear iced tea and a marionberry lemonade that is divine! I like to mix it with the orange hibiscus. They have very sturdy to-go boxes hanging out by the lid, straw, and pepper station ready for the taking so you don't even have to ask. Seating is on the limited side as it's not a very big restaurant. It has some space but on a busy night, like Friday and Saturday you may have to scout out and watch like a hawk for a table. However, thankfully there is some seating outside which is enjoyable on a cool summer evening after the sun has gone down below the shops across the street.
