This is my first time at this location. We usually go to another location. That is a bit further away from our home (Dunkirk Md) From what I could see, there were only two workers on duty. Service was awesome. We were greeted with a welcome when we entered the store but upon first glance, the ingredients station was very messy like it needed to be cleaned up after every order was made, and that was not being done, and I could kinda understand why it was messy - almost like one order after another one order after another and not having time to really clean up, but that's something that should be paid attention to. That didn't stop me from placing my order though, but it did deserve to be mentioned because at the other location I don't experience that at all. First time trying MOD Pizza and using their online ordering service, which was quick and easy. I Loved the fact that Mod's Pizza crust is vegan friendly! They do offer vegan/vegetarian-friendly toppings. We ordered two types of pizzas. We ordered the 11" pizza with grilled chicken, cheese, roasted corn, mozzarella, tomato slices and tomato sauce. The 6" pizza was the vegan-friendly pizza, which we ordered with roasted broccoli, red onions, mushrooms, red peppers, green peppers, basil, arugula, rosemary, spinach, olive oil, garlic rub and tomato sauce. We requested our pizza to be cooked light bake, which offered just enough crisps to the edges. Anything more would have been crispy, if that's your desired pizza texture. All in all, our pizza's came out good and we enjoyed every bite. I would definitely recommend visiting this establishment. read more

In a pinch, Mod has become my go-to for a good personal, thin-crust pizza loaded with fresh toppings and an equally tasty salad. I've been getting salads in either the small or medium sizes (Greek or Caesar), and they go well with the pizzas. A friend of mine swears by the finishing sauces. Today I took my mama for MOD we haven't been here since my eye surgeries and today was an absolutely beautiful but niiice breeze day of 80 degrees. The ambiance was cleaned and chill wasn't packed at this hour at all , We met D/Dee she greeted us immediately, very nice conversational and a chill helpful vibe but talks fast (she say 3 Ingredients so fast it's like wait what you say) but she gets her job done!!... I got a Mini and my mom got the regular one we loaded up with all the toppings got two large Drinks as usual they have THEE BEST LEMONADES Vintage .& Marion BlackBerry lemonade soooo bomb I lie to you not you get one sip and it's everything. Definitely did great hiring Dee and the manager/co manager she's nice as well she has braids and glasses even the guy waiting to order behind us said how great and on it dee is whenever he comes in to grab some food. Good pizza I was first exposed to Mod Pizza while on a trip to MI. I was thrilled to bits to be able to find a place that offered personal size pizza. Mods allows my family (whose tastes are as different as they are) to each have the pizza of their choice. So you can only imagine how pleased to find a Mod Pizza right around the corner when we moved into our house three years ago. This has become a go-to place when we all get in our "I only want xyz on my pizza". I'm a big fan of customized pizza shops. They have a ton of great options and toppings. If you like garlic (I loveeee) definitely get the roasted garlic. It's literal cloves roasted on top and is so delicious. I like this better than the chopped garlic. They also have Mike's Hot Honey which is a favorite! I really love that you can get stuff like hot sauce on top or olive oil brushed on the crust, etc. My usual is order is: Original crust, white sauce , mozzarella & parm cheese, roasted garlic, oregano, basil, sea salt & pepper They also have premade options if you want to go with one of those. Lastly, they have an app you can mobile order through, every so often you get a free pizza with the rewards, and who doesn't love free pizza. read more

Well well well! &pizza & Blaze have some competition eh?? Good! PG County needs it. I didn't know what to expect, but I just heard good things. I come in about 30 minutes before they close, and it is indeed set up just like &pizza... except mirrored. The line has you going from right to left instead of from left to right. There is some good music playing (shout out to Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik by Outkast!) and there is a big menu on the wall that shows a bunch of classic options for either pizza or salad you can go with. I decided to make my own, and I went all out... I got chicken, pesto, kale, pineapples, green peppers, and a few other toppings. It is ~$8 for an 11" round pizza. It was placed in an oven, and in a few minutes it was done. I also picked up a few "No Name Cakes"... I had no idea what they were, but I was feeling adventurous! I wanted to add Mike's Hot Honey, but sadly there were all out :-(. I carefully observed the pizza when I got home. Comparing to &pizza, their crust is definitely thinner... you can't go much thinner than that; it was almost treading on Ledo's territory. All of the toppings tasted great together. The crust had a nice crisp to it, except for one corner which was oddly soft. I don't know whether it was taken out a few seconds too soon or what, but the cheese was melted and it was hot nonetheless in that area. As for the dessert, I opened the foil and the no name cake is actually something very similar to those chocolate Hostess cakes that had creme in the middle. I forget which one it is, but it was tasty! If it was homemade, wow. Because it was almost identical! I really enjoyed my pizza from MOD the other night. Sorry I have no pics. I was super hungry and that came as an after thought. Like way after I finished it :). But trust me it was a good looking pie! I chose my own toppings - red sauce, spicy sausage, salami, spinach, onions, cilantro. I like that you can get a personal pizza and also that there's one price for each size, with as many toppings as you want. My only complaint on this 1st visit is I like my crust a little crispy if it's thin. So next time I'll ask for some extra time I'm the oven. p.s. I didn't notice any unrestrained hair on the food preparers as mentioned in some of the other reviews. Hopefully that has been addressed as I would not welcome it either. read more

Today I was thoroughly disappointed with my visit. I ordered online to cut down on the wait time and to allow for proper social distancing, but to my dismay my order was not ready at the promised time and I had to wait an additional 30 minutes without any warning. It a missed opportunity that there is not an automatic system that informs customers of a delay. Once in the restaurant I'm waiting blindly with many others as more customers begin to walk in and are informed of a 45-50 minute wait......like how long does it take to make and bake a pizza? So, after this extended wait, guess what? The pizza was TERRIBLE!!! Not of the MOD quality I am used to from other locations. The sauce was scarce and the pizza was bland. I'm pregnant and was craving pizza and luckily found a MOD Pizza on the route. I appreciate MOD's vegan inclusivity, but this location went especially above and beyond. Really wanted to like this place but after ordering for the 2nd time, I don't know if I'll ever order again. The first time I've ordered from this place the pizza dough was a bit undercooked so really didn't like that and now upon ordering my second time as you can see evidenced in my photo the cheese is dry and it was so crispy. so that's two times now I've tried to eat here the first time pizzas were undercooked and now the second time over cooked. I would not order from Mod Pizza online to pick-up for a few reasons. You can't really customize if you want more or less of an ingredient/ topping. Also, the limit to type a message in the "special suggestions" box, is less than 50 words. Also, you cannot suggest extra condiments like napkins or red hot chili pepper flake packets. Other than those issues, I LOVE going to this location in person. They play cool music like the Features, David Bowie, and the Black Keys. Very good taste in music, Mod Pizza. There are usually no people when I go before 12AM and after 6 PM. The pizzas are so tasty and never disappoint. So. As a native NYer, I consider myself a pizza aficionado. NY style being my favorite, of course. With that said, I'm always open to new pizza experiences and this new wave of quickly-baked pizzas has a lot to offer. This is my second such place, my first being Blaze- which I have not written about but will eventually. I'm writing about this place because I visited it just last week, for the third time, so I have something to base an opinion on. My first time was when it first opened; as with most new spots they had kinks that needed to be ironed out; as such it wasn't great, but the pizza was edible. The establishment itself has an industrial vibe, lots of blocky shapes and sharp corners, large, high, heavy duty tables and stools, and a smattering of booths along the perimeter. Line forms up from the right side of the counter to the entrance (so you could encounter a line as you walk in), walk up, place your order and watch them assemble your pizza. Everything is done by hand- the dough is pre-spread and settled on a pizza pan to be cooked to order; a large assortment of toppings for every taste, both meat eater and veggie and anything in between, two sauce types that I could see, (one is supposed to be spicy I think) and shredded mozzarella cheese (or other types, I didn't learn what they were since I only like mozzarella cheese for pizza). Once assembled, it gets sent down the line to the baker who puts it in the oven. Now, my first two visits, they had a guy who used to spin the pizza so quickly that cheese ended up piling up on one side or another. I actually dislike that sort of thing and so I stayed away for a few months. Let's fast forward to last week; it seems they've gotten it together. The process was smooth, wait times minimal and the outcome was tasty. I still think that, as far as flavor goes, Blaze wins that contest, but not by the large margin it once enjoyed. As far as the fast-bake pizzerias go, this is a good choice. That it is so close to me means I'll be seeing it more than any of the others. It isn't NY, but it is decent pizza. I suppose I should also mention their "no name cakes" - wrapped in foil they remind you of an upscale Hostess Ring Ding - very sweet, very chocolatey and sinful, really. It's like a fancy Subway for pizza and salads. I got a mini pizza with white sauce and a ton of veggies. I was most impressed by the roasted Brussels sprouts and broccoli offered. Every thing was super fresh and delicious. I also had a deluxe salad minus the salami. I choose balsamic dressing which was a good compliment to the crisp greens and veggies. I liked the way they pre-mix the salad so every bite gets covered with the perfect amount of dressing. They also have a good selection of house made lemonade and iced teas, in addition to the standard fountain drinks and craft sodas. The servers were all friendly and professional. First impressions: female workers with long hair are NOT wearing hair nets nor a hat. Guys that have beards in the kitchen handling food do NOT have beard nets on. These are basic health codes. Staff is friendly and hard working. Chairs are metal and or metal with wood and stiff. Benches do have some padding. Food: ingredients are fresh and good. It comes down to skill of cooking the pizza. Need to know the oven. Keep a clean brick. Know your dough and how it cooks. How and when to rotate the pie. Brick gave off "soot" or burnt crumbs from debris off ingredients falling off and burning on brick then in transfers to the pizza. All you taste is burnt charcoal. While it is not over powering it is a flavor I do not want on my pizza. 9/7/17 Update: much improved cooking process, pizzas are coming out perfectly cooked. Lines can be long.
