In town for a show at Dover Downs, I decided to venture out of the casino to find food. Instead of choosing the eateries that can be found in every shopping center across America, I decided to try MOD Pizza. I arrived about 4pm and the restaurant was pretty empty. However, it was clean, employees were smiling and giving kind vibes. MOD offers over 30 unlimited toppings if you're feeling creative and classic pairings if you need the assist. I chose a cauliflower pizza crust ($2 up charge) and topped with pesto, veggies, & vegan cheese. The staff was really engaging and let me know the vegan cheese doesn't melt very well. The pizza only took a few minutes to bake. It was hot and crispy when they delivered it to me. I ate a couple slices there and continued chatting with the staff. This was our first time back in a long time. I ordered the Jasper with jalapenos on MOD dough. I forgot all the wonderful and fresh toppings available all for the same price. After the crust was fired it was so thin and crispy. I was hoping to get a butter garlic parmesan drizzle on the outside of the crust to give it flavor, unfortunately, they no longer carry that. Instead I got a side of pesto to dip the crust in which was delicious. I ended up having enough for breakfast the next morning and lunch. Good prices and good service. read more

As soon as I got out my car the staff was already welcoming. Someone opened the door for me, another young man pointed me in the right direction, the young lady at the register was friendly. Just all around a great atmosphere! The pizza was good. I'm not a fan of thin crust but next time I'm going to try the thicker crust I saw on their menu. What I love most about this place is they don't charge more to add toppings. There's one price and whether you have two or five toppings the price stays the same. I was carrying my baby in one hand and after I got my order (I ordered 3 mini pizzas online and it was finished in exactly the 25 min quoted time) a young man (I think his name was kendal) took my pizzas out to my car for me! There's a lot of pizza places in Dover and I think because of the great customer service it puts MOD pizza right over some of the other places..... and the pizzas pretty good. read more

I first encountered Mod Pizza in Seattle and was happy to find one here in Dover. It's a nice place to grab a bite. All the pizza are called mods, and you can get any or all ingredients for the same price! Nice crust and prepared right in front of you. Very tasty combinations are found in their menu, or make your own. Salads are also an option same as pizzas. Great service, good food, what more can you ask? read more

MOD pizza definitely is the best make-your-own pizza chain. You can order a classic pizza (pre-listed ingredients) or build your own completely. It's unlimited toppings with no extra charge. This location specifically has a great atmosphere. You can sit in outside or outside. There's more than enough seating. I always order the calexico or caspian, and add pineapples (yeah I'm one of those). Staff is full of energy, which always makes order from food establishments great. read more

The first time I went here I was not a fan but like most places I'm willing to give it another shot. So my kids talked me into going and I ordered the "Kevin Pie" which was a seasonal addition. Now I'm sure this won't sell alot of people but this pie has Pumpkin puree sauce, arugala, Mozzy, Canadian bacon, lil hot peppers, and a Balsamic Fig drizzle. The combo of these ingredients was a amazing. Brass tax it's fast, this is Chipotle of PIZZA. Little pricey for cheap pizza but I guess your paying for convience. read more

Better than it has any right to be. We thought it was going to be something like Pie Five but this blows that place out of the water. The crust they use is somewhere between thin and regular and it's so good. Make your own, whatever toppings you want for one prize or try one of the ones on the menu. Either way you can't go wrong. Staff is very friendly and helpful and there's plenty of seating inside and out. Support this place because it's actually a good, fast modern pizza place. Calexico on the bottom and my own white sauce, arugula, cilantro, jalapeños, roasted garlic, balsamic glaze, spicy sausage, black olives, Greek olives, red onions and pesto drizzle creation up top. read more

Ordered online, so I didn't get the dine in experience. Def a cute spot, had a regular pizza. Stood there for a while not wanting to interrupt the kid on his phone. He ended up being polite. Anyways should have checked my pizza when I was in there but I figured it should be ok. Got home and my small pie was not cut, so I ended up doing it myself. The pizza had a weird spicy taste to it but it was ok. Maybe I'll try something else next time. read more

Has more going on vs pie 5, beer on tap, milk shakes etc. but wait times are pretty bad my most recent visit from the time i got in line to the actual time i got my pizza was pushing 20+ minutes. If you're not in a hurry i would recommend just heading to a local dine in pizzeria, because the pizza isn't anything special. The pizza got mixed up so everyone had to go up to the counter and pick the pizzas they ordered, instead of having our names called. Not a bad place at all but for this quality i would expect the wait time to be cut in half. The milkshake i ordered was melted and my pizza was barely warm by the time i got it. read more

Have you ever walked into a place and the clerk person has a negative attitude, I even tipped over 20℅ still the attitude and ways of treating the client (me) were just off and wrong, and did not change, even after a decent tip. I felt at a point the stare almost asking to instigate an argument. I am a business person, and Latino as well, I did not say anything because I have more important things to do than to argue with a passive-aggressive rude clerk. Sucks, because the corporate culture of this place is all about good mood and good deeds etc. read more

The staff were super fast and friendly. We stopped here on a trip to NY. Wow. I'm impressed with the salad, the pizzas and all of the fresh and tasty options. The pizza was super fast and the thin yet chewy and crispy crust was perfect. I wish we had one in Norfolk! Loved it. read more

It is our go to place. We probably eat there once a week. We have rotated thorough a variety of different pizzas; however our favorites are the Dillon James, Calexico and Tristan. The Gorgonzola cheese added to anything is awesome. Everything is fresh, healthy, and if you stick with the mini, the calories are not that much (300-550). Their salads are also very good. I have recommended them to all my friends and family. read more

Around lunch time on February 12th, I noticed there was two people working the line. Another two coworkers in the back not helping out. They look like they were flirting and all over each other. I thought it was unfair for the other two employees that were respectful and working well. The two in the back looked like a young girl with dark hair, with a tall Hispanic gentleman. I just tried their pizza and YES. "This is not a pizza shop". I had the mega and it was GOOD. This place is a hidden gem in plain sight. I had no clue what it was so I didn't check into it. But when I did it was worth it. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It's 1 yes 1 price for ANY TOPPINGS and they are fresh as many as you want and there's like 30. Imagine ordering a pie in a pizza shop with 1 topping. It's like $15. Not here. It's $8.97 for MOD and $10.97 for mega dough crust. The pizzas are like11" but with the toppings piled up you get full. Did I mention no extra cost for unlimited toppings? They have salads also and cauliflower crust. If you want GOOD pizza with no bs or extra cost go to MOD PIZZA. read more

This place beats out PieFive hands down! I used to frequent that place until MOD pizza popped up. I decided to try it and now I can't go back to that other place. The toppings are hand prepared on the daily (I asked) and when the pizza is done, the crust is crispy and flaky. Just perfect! Steve made my pizza, he was really cool. Not to mention the few previous times I been here, everyone is really cool. Def recommend! read more

service is the first thing you experience here. the minute you walk in you are greeted by a slew of hellos. the team is genuinely friendly and ready to help guide you thru the process. Alyssa was terrific in making my BYO pizza (white sauce, garlic, basil, pepperoni, chicken, broccoli and oregano) and made my kids a mini pizza as well. my wife got a deluxe salad (spring mix, salami, chicken, green peppers, diced tomatoes, olives, parmesan) with ranch on the side. they've got a nice selection of bottled beverages too and dessert (no name cakes). and they are fast too. just as I was sitting down my pizza was done. great pizza, great environment, and great service. thank you Alyssa!! read more

You give them your name and number and every so often you will get a 10.00 discount on your order and a free children's pizza on your birthday. But beware, if you have any kind of issue in their restaurant, even if it has nothing to do with the staff, they will use your participation in this program against you. They will give your name and number to the police and involve themselves in matters that should not concern them. I am nearly 40 and have never had any trouble with the law in my entire life until they meddled in my business; the context of which they knew nothing about. They will do this with no hesitation. When you confront them about this they will deny it. But no one else there knew my number but their computer system. To make matters worse they will then ban you from their restaurant. The servers are very two-faced, and the general manager John is one of the most heartless men I've ever met. I was a very loyal regular customer every Friday night for years. I had friends there I loved who I will never see again. That is the hardest part of all. No goodbyes, no second chances. They did it to me, please don't think it won't happen to you. I don't think a few ten dollar discounts here and there and a once a year baby sized pizza with no toppings are worth it. Proceed with caution. I cannot speak for the other locations, I only know they did this at grotto's Dover.

It was clean, but very cold with even the hostess wearing a jacket, We ordered chicken Parm for lunch ($16 for the lunch portion and an extra charge if you would like salad). We also ordered a Caprese sandwich with soup. The soup arrived quickly but our main lunch was delayed. The server apologized saying there was an issue with the cook. Everything looked good, but the spaghetti was lukewarm, and the Caprese sandwich was tasteless with tomatoes that were like mush. The chicken parm was hot so it was odd that the spaghetti was not. We didn't see our waitress for a while so we shared the chicken Parm and just put the sandwich on the side. Even though there was one bite missing from the entire sandwich, the server asked if we wanted to take it to go. Overall, the meal was a disappointment, and we won't be returning. It only took a couple of minutes for someone to get my drink order. I figured pizza was in the name, so I ordered the Pizza Americana (pepperoni and sausage) and a side salad with blue cheese dressing. Salad came and a saucer of oil and seasonings and soft rolls accompanied it. Salad was very basic- lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, one cherry tomato, one red onion ring, and half dozen croutons. Dressing was fairly good. The oil for dipping the bread was heavy on the garlic. The pizza came out very quickly, and smelled and looked great. Crust was nice and crisp. Sausage was tasty. Although I ordered the small, it really could serve two, especially if you had the salad and a roll. Overall it was a pleasant experience here. I'd definitely stop here again. I would recommend that the management have someone clean the ventilation ducts though. They appear to have a lot of residue on them which is a little off putting.
