Stopped here on the way back fr Virginia Beach, they are located right by Dover Air Force Base. I wanted to like this place, it's roomy, was busy at 12 noon and even with 2 people serving they were a bit overwhelmed. Everyone was nice, they have a good selection of pizza, salads, pastas, sub and sandwiches. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing although I wax a little disappointed with the pizza. There were 3 of us so we shared a large pizza with 3 toppings. The sauce is definitely not up to Brooklyn NY sauce. There wasn't too much flavor although it was ok. The part that missed was the toppings appeared to be just thrown on and not cooked in so the toppings were a bit cold. The weird part was the hot tea, they brew it for you which is ok although it was not hot. We asked if they could boil a new pot of hot water and served it with this huge tea bag which was like 6 tea bags in one. See attached photo. Again, everyone was very nice, I'm sure I caught them at a busy time. I know they have an overall rating of 4 stars so I'm sure they are usually on point. For me you only have one chance to make a great impression so I will not be back when driving to Virginia Beach in the future. read more

All of their food choices are priced extremely high. They obviously took advantage of when food prices went up they more than jumped on the bandwagon. However, they took advantage of their customers in the process. I know many who no longer go there because they charge toooo much! read more

We went at 9pm (they close at 10pm). The service was amazing, they were very welcoming even though we were one of the few people dinning in. The restaurant is very homey. We ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and a cheesesteak, you get what you pay for! The portion sizes are huge!! We left stuffed and witb huge leftovers. The food tasted authentic and amazing. I ordered shrimp parmigiana and spaghetti. The shrimp was mushy and lacked a seafood/ocean taste. The noodles were over cooked and the meal was cold. However the Caesar salad was delicious and large in portion. My guest had Shrimp Fra-diavolo. The jumbo shrimp in that dish had a dank taste, very poor quality. However the sauce of both dishes was tasty. The service was friendly and prompt. The ambiance was lovely. I wish I could give this place a higher rating because of the friendly atmosphere. I'd give zero stars if I could. I ordered food through the Slice app and they handed the driver the incorrect order. They expected this poor driver to go back and pick up the correct order, even though it was their mistake. then over an hour after my food was ordered said that they would send the correct order to me. When I called back and spoke with Franco, he got angry and told me to call Slice and request a refund. Slice cannot do a refund without the restaurant approval. Between Slice and Franco this is the worst experience I've ever had in ordering food through an app. The restaurant manager Franco was extremely disrespectful to myself who is awaiting a dinner order, and the driver of the Slice app who is out of time and money now as well. Thank God for AMEX, who will dispute the order. Update they sent the order that sat for over an hour.. carbonara Egg is scrambled and look at the basil. The bottom is a watery mess. I've been a huge fan of Franco's for years. I always go when I'm home visiting and have my mom bring me some when she comes down to SC. The portions are large, fresh and absolutely delicious. The meat tortellini with sausage and meatballs is one of top favorites. The chicken parmesan is a very close second. Everyone at the table ways orders something different and we a share... With enough to bring home for leftovers. The fresh bread they give you with oil to dip is perfect. It's always right out of the oven, crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. The staff is wonderful. Always so attentive and polite. They're very knowledgeable with the menu. The restaurant is a bit outdated- but it is okay. It hasn't ever changed and I'm okay with that. We went here with a large group for lunch. There was approximately 20 of us in the group so I understood there was going to be a little bit of a wait. When we went inside it was very dated and just old. The Waitresses were nice however the two we were given were overwhelmed. My husband and I ordered a chicken Cheesesteak Deluxe split between the two of us for $13.99. After we ordered bread was brought to the table. The bread was nice and warm and there was plenty of it but what we really wanted was water. Though we were provided water when we sat down our waitress refilled it near the end of the meal. The portion sizes when they arrived were huge. One sandwich split between my husband and I was more than enough. However, I base my reviews on quality of food and taste, therefore, my rating reflects our experience. The sandwich arrived in a large roll completely filled with bread and not a lot of contents. The meat was overcooked, dry and under seasoned and the cheese on top looked like an afterthought. I mean after all the name of this sandwich was chicken cheesesteak! Once we took our first bite we knew this was the wrong choice. We just kept chewing and chewing and chewing as the meat was so tough. Some of the others in our party ordered small pizzas and they looked much better. 3.5 stars, rounded up for service. A search for cheesesteaks brought us here. Lucky us, as we might possibly have found a good spot to try again. I'm hoping that the rumors of a thicker pizza crust option are true, but I'll return to try other items on the menu as well. We ordered a deluxe cheesesteak, spaghetti with meatballs, and a slice of cheese pizza with garlic. All were good, but needed help from the spices available at the table. The complimentary bread that arrived at the table was perfect, as was the garlicky oil that was included. The portion of spaghetti was massive. Other reviews mention ordering a child's sized plate, and I can understand why. I think we will simply share instead, as it was enough for two hungry adults. The pizza slice was a generous size as well, and it had plenty of my chosen topping. The crust was thin and crispy without being cracker-like. The cheesesteak had plenty of meat and toppings, and was a good choice for the price. The service by our waitress, Trish, is what tipped the stars up instead of down. She was patient and personable, and had plenty of advice for a first time diner. The other staff members we encountered were also quite pleasant. Franco's is NOT your typical throw sauce on a noodle and call it Italian and serve it with the pizza kind of place. It's a real deal delicious restaurant with Italian specialties. Not enamored with any of the choices in the Lewes/Rehoboth area. This place was great. From the good bread to the gnocchi and fettuccine supreme house specialties with HUGE scallops. Even the cannoli was one of the best we've had. The staff was speaking Italian. They and some of the customers were so good and supportive of another customer. This is the second time I've ordered from them. The first time I ordered a pizza with garlic and mushrooms (among other items). Not only was the pizza cold when it arrived, no extra items were included. I called them and their customer service sucked. I was told, rudely, to deal with the delivery company. Bullshit!! They did not want to take responsibility. I did get a refund on the garlic and mushrooms after numerous calls. Today I ordered a pie, calzone, buffalo wings, and their "deep-fried, crispy" french fries. Pizza was cold, calzone was a freakin' disaster, wings dry, and fries soggy. Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't there be ricotta in a calzone?! Compare my pic with what they have on their menu. Mine looks like a folded flat bread with nothing inside. Garbage!! From the seafood to the eggplant parm. to the gnocchi and calamari , every dish my family ordered was phenomenal ! And the homemade Italian freshly baked bread was worth coming for alone ! This is an easily overlooked eatery in the strip mall, sitting next to McDonalds on Lebanon Road. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The feeling is like a family feel here. The restaurant is tidy, clean and bigger inside than it appears as you first walk in. There is good spacing between tables. You are not pressed against other diners here. I had a salad, tomato and mozzarella caprese as my appetizer. My main course was the Supreme Fettuccini, loaded with Shrimp, mushrooms and scallops. It was a large sized serving. Francos doesn't skimp on their portions! My dish was really good! This place does good business, it gets pretty busy at dinner time. No reservations are needed here. I have been to Dover many times and this is my 1st visit to Francos. I will eat here again, the next time I am in town! read more
