Just after 4pm on Sunday. Not busy at all. Every table has food on it, the drink containers are disgustingly dirty (do they ever get cleaned). The ice machine dispenser handle is caked in calcification (hasn't been cleaned in a long time), bathroom is destroyed/disgusting, and the area under the dish container has piles of food under the cart and on the floor. Luckily the employees have plenty of down time. Come on Mod! You can do better. We've eaten here forever. What the hell happened? The food was still good but made me question what the sanitary conditions are behind the counter. Whoever is "managing" this place needs to step up. Mod is our go to 'have it your way' pizza spot, so we went to this location for the first time, being new in the area. They looked a little light on staff, but it wasn't crowded, so we figured they move us along as usual. Well...not so much. We were second in line and stood for about 10 minutes without even being acknowledged! We were literally standing in front of the employees and they didn't look up, but just worked...SLOWLY...on their online orders. Finally, one of them looked up and asked what we'd like. So, we were ready to go, placed our orders, as they ran out of crusts and ran off for a good couple minutes. When she finally came back, the prep crew proceeded to be 'chinsy' with the toppings, but we weren't having that. We had to ask for just about everything to add more, as they barely put anything on. Very weird for Mod. We got our orders in and they came out quickly and tasty so we were happy to finally eat. My cauliflower crust was a little burnt, but still enjoyable. Overall, it was an okay experience, but the management really needs to train their staff to keep the customers in front of them engaged, their prep more expedient and just improve the organization of the whole process. We ordered a pizza from this Mod location through their online ordering system, and when we picked up the food we found a 3/4 inch piece of sharp plastic in the pizza my son ordered. If he bit into it it would have cracked his tooth, and I'd hate to think what would have happened if he swallowed it. We promptly called the location and explained what happed. The person on the phone said thanks for letting him know, and then he hung up. No apology or anything. I will never go to this location again, and warn everyone else against going here. read more

Larger than a personal size at most places (called "mod"), any toppings, any amount of toppings, cooked within 5 minutes, all for 1 simple price of $7.87 (they also offer a "mini" perfect for kids or a snack size). Think of subway or Chipotle, but for pizza. So many meat options, veggie options, etc. You can choose a pre designed menu option, or just do the simple option to make your own pizza. They offer garlic strips (which is just a "mini" pizza with garlic on top with options for dipping sauces for under $3. They offer vanilla, chocolate or strawberry shakes. After you order, they put your pizza into An open fire pit, and it cooks within 5 minutes. You are than called up by name to get your pizza. This place is just awesome. Parking lot is really small, like really small, especially if you go during prime time, only because the building is shared with 2 other businesses, plus the 4 more on the other side. Inside seating is a little tight, capacity at the front door says 70, but 30 people feels like it's crowded. The pizza is great, the atmosphere is fun, everything about this place is awesome. For about $10 (mod pizza and a drink) and the speed of service, you can't go wrong here as a pizza fan. read more

Don't order off the menu. Think of this as the "Subway" of quick pizza places. You can choose a regular or double-crust (regular is good) and then just select any/all toppings to go on it. The server walks down the line with you and puts the toppings on as you select them. Pay and sit down to wait...but not very long wait. Your pizza goes into the brick oven and you get it hot and fresh just the way you ordered it in about 8 minutes. I get the regular pizza crust (vegan - does have a trace of oil from the press), add red sauce, skip the cheeses (they do offer a vegan one) and then add lots of mushrooms and other fresh-cut veggies. They even have sriracha-flavored chickpeas that I like to put on mine from time to time. Definitely plan to return here often. HINT: Right up front ask to have extra garlic and basil added if you like those flavors. read more

I'm disappointed. Normally love the MOD Pizza chain. Was trying out this particular location because I was on the other side of town. Had to remind each of the employees multiple times to add the ingredients I was asking for. Not sure if they were having an off day or just weren't paying attention to my order. Definition of slow customer service, waited 30 minutes for 4 pizzas they said would be ready at 5:30. Then when we finally got them one had zero toppings and the other one was completely wrong, had to wait another 15 minutes to get them fixed. I understand that restaurants can get busy but there were 10+ employees in there and only 1 or 2 small groups. Love this friendly and fast service location of MOD Pizza in Highlands Ranch. I have used it for catering and have eaten here. You can choose your personal pizza at 6 inches or 11 inches so it is a great place to take the kids. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The price is the same no matter what toppings you put on the pizza. I had the Dillon James, but added a bunch of extra veggies. The 11 inch was just over $8 and it was plenty of food! Where else can you get made to order at that price? The owner is always there and there seems to be camaraderie among the staff. They ask you if you want any extra sauce when you pick up your made to order pizza. You can then add Parmesan, herbs, red pepper flakes on your own. They have a large drink selection and a few desserts. I didn't see any alcohol type drinks. It is located in the King Soopers shopping plaza at University and Highlands Ranch Parkway--it is way in the back by Bliss salon on the HRP side. Great for a fast lunch or a leisurely lunch.
