Is it possible for pizza to be life changing? I didn't think so until I ate at Nicolos. Ever since I left Chicago I've been on the hunt for a deep dish pizza that resembled the ones I enjoyed back there. The problem with that is there are so many varieties of deep dish in Chicago, Uno's, Ginos, Lou's, Giordano's, Pequod's, I was seeking a moving target. Then I ate at Nicolos. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was it was a clean and classy dining environment. Not your typical rustic pizza place. The next thing we noticed was the freshness of the food. The salad had no left over lettuce they were trying to get rid of, like other places we've seen lately. But what forever changed my search for pan pizza was their deep dish. It was thick, cheesy, and wonderful. It tasted like we would make at home if we have the know-how to make amazing pan pizza. It didn't have to resemble any pizzas from the past because it set a new standard for quality and goodness. We also ordered their thin crust vegetarian pizza which also tasted fresh and amazing. I've been waiting to try this pizza for 15 years. I finally got there and was not disappointed. Their deep dish pizza is wonderful! It has so much cheese, perfectly baked crust and a great sauce. We also got a thin crust pizza, which we all loved. It wasn't too thin either. The young man helping us was so friendly, which is hard to find these days. He even waved at us on our way out while he was taking another order on the phone. I love that acknowledgement. Prices are super fair. $25.00 for that deep dish, I would expect it to be more. They do not skimp and they use fresh ingredients. I cannot wait to go back! Parking is ample. read more

Our go to for pizza night. My husband is a Chicago native and we are so thankful to live next to such authentic deep dish. We've never dined inside, rather order online for takeout. Our favorite "toppings" are Meatball & Pepperoni. We would love to add Jalapeno but the couple of times we have there is maybe 2 tiny slivers in the whole pie; that's my only complaint. Would like to give this a 3.5 but will round up to 4 stars. We order the BBQ chicken deep dish pizza for takeout. Food was ready in about 35 minutes and warm when we got home. The pizza had a ton of bbq sauce on top (see pictures) and had some interesting layers of chicken, jalapeno, pineapple and a ton of cheese. I think this would have been better not as a deep dish, so will remember that for future visits. Crust was good, but definitely not like the top places in Chicago. If you are a deep dish connoisseur, you probably will be disappointed. Prices are on the higher end but similar to other places. Good variety of specialty options or you can make your own. read more

Stick to the pizza. I tried the eggplant Parmesan today. It was probably the worst eggplant Parmesan I have ever had. It appeared to be a frozen, breaded eggplant cutlet that they reheated. I've been to Nicole's twice. The first time was fantastic and Ive been craving it since. On my second visit, I got the wings (great wings and Blue cheese) and the 10" Hawaiian deep dish and the 10" Four Cheese deep dish. Me and my kids were the only ones in the restaurant at 12:30 and it felt like it took a while to get the food. When the two pizza arrived, we were speechless to see two hand tossed crust pizzas. We literally sat and talked through the order process for a few minutes rehashing what we ordered and whether or not we were clear. The waiter was no where to be seen so we finally decided to just eat what we had. The service was not great on the 2nd visit and I didn't love the hand tossed pizzas. The crust was hard on the Hawaiian and the 4 cheese pizza was not great. Three stars because my first visit was so memorable but unfortunately, too many misses on the 2nd visit. read more

Honestly best pizza in Highlands Ranch I love it so much. I got a small normal crust pepperoni and a small cheese deep dish both are so good and the deep dish makes great leftovers because cheese is on bottom and sauce is on top, but I can't choose which one I like more so I just get both lol. I've been a long time customer of Nicolo's but probably won't continue as a customer. I placed a delivery order for a pepperoni pizza (with extra pepperoni) and a kid's mac and cheese. The pizza had only a normal amount of pepperoni and when I called Nicolo's they said some of it was under the cheese, which was true, maybe 5 pieces. After getting disconnected, & calling back twice (chaos) they said I could bring the pizza back in and they would make another one. I ordered delivery for a reason. It was a lot of effort and not worth the result. Should have just credited the $3.50. Also, I paid $6.25 for the kids mac and cheese, not expecting Kraft from a box! (I asked). Gee, a 500% mark up for junk. So disappointing. read more

The staff here was polite and helpful, and that was definitely a plus. The 13" deep dish pizza was disappointing (OK at best), and was exacerbated by its price of $30.99. The pizza sauce was plentiful, but was devoid of any cheese; as if it was scalped from the top. The Chicken Caesar salad for $10.99 tasted as if it was dropped from a prepackaged salad bag; a la what you would get from King Soopers. The chicken appeared to be the same one they use on pizzas; and I surmise they dipped into the chicken topping bin and dusted the fowl across the aforementioned lettuce. The wings were juicy, and were the best part of the meal ($7.99 for 6). In all, for almost $61 with tax (for one deep dish pizza, one large salad, and 12 wings), it was not what we were hoping for. We went to Nicolos for the first time today. We ordered one hand tossed and one thin crust - we chose to skip the deep dish after overhearing how long the man behind us had been waiting. The crust on both was really bad - it was probably over worked because it was like a tasteless dough brick. The cheese was rubbery and overall it was one of the worst pizzas I have ever had. It took about 40 minutes to get our food, but it's possible they are understaffed because there was only one girl trying to juggle all the tables on her own. With so many other pizza options, we definitely won't be returning here. read more

Always hot, always good. Our favorite pizza place in Metro Denver. Sauce isn't too sweet, cheese to topping ratio is perfect- and the crust is the dog's bollocks (the best in the biz). My daughter and I were looking for a true Chicago style deep dish pizza we didn't want to go downtown. I had heard about another place downtown and heard it was really good but I'm just over downtown. so we went to Nicolos for lunch we very impressed with the high Quality flavor and taste of there deep dish pizza it was super good. I figured for Highlands Ranch it would be to fancy or over priced place but it wasn't too bad. The prices were really reasonable considering we were getting a true deep dish Chicago style pizza not many true deep dish pizza around in this town to choose from. They did have a sit down seating it was clean the wait staff was very friendly and gave great service will definitely plan on doing this again here in the soon near future read more
