Owner has a double standard. She brings her two year to work and lets him scream and slam doors and…read morethen tells me that I can't enter a weight lifting class (not yoga, relaxation or meditation related at all) one minute late because I might disturb other people. It's very frustrating to have the owner treat it like a sweet little family run business and then slam professionalism, policy and procedure in your face when life circumstances cause you to need a little slack.

I am quite displeased with my billing experience with oxygen yoga. I purchased a 2 month membership…read morewhich was billed as one payment but showed on my account as two separate months. I activated one month and used it classes were great. Then I decided to take a month off as i assumed I could then activate my second month anytime. I received a call from someone to notify me of a new promotion as my membership was coming to an end. This was a shock as nowhere In The agreement of the membership does it mention that membership months run congruently. I had asked if someone could call me back to tell me where it said this or give me information on this, and was told I would get that info. Nobody called me. I was then called at the beginning of March by someone else to tell me that I had a 1 month membership which was inactivated, again shocked because I was told I didn't have this. I now look on my account and it shows the one month expires in April which is another shock as I never activated it. This is EXTREMELY frustrating as I was given the wrong information and would have used my second month if I knew it was available. originally my account did not show an expiry date. I have called a couple of times and left a message and have not received a call back. I am not happy with my service and do not recommend going here based solely on the poor communication and lack of information about the terms and conditions of their memberships and the fact that the staff has no idea what's going on!

I recently attended this studio and loved the classes. I got a hard workout and the instructors…read morewere fun and sweet. However, I had a problem with payment. I purchased a two week unlimited pass for $40 which I paid upfront on my VISA. To my knowledge, I did not authorize any further charges. I attended two classes immediately following the unlimited period (my mistake - I did not recall what day I completed my first class which started the 14 day countdown). I was then contacted by the studio advising me of an outstanding account. I responded within a few days asking for confirmation of the start/end day of the 14 day trial and the dates I attended classes (you can access this information on your account online but my log-in did not work). They responded nicely with the information and asked what I would "like to do" and stated that if I purchased one of their passes that I could apply the two classes I already completed to it (a fair deal and one that I intended to take). But, I had not got around to responding to that email when (7 days later) I received an email informing me that they had decided to just charge my VISA for the amount owing. This really ticked me off. In fairness to them, I was already tired and stressed after the work week. I responded (in haste) that I had not given them permission to charge my VISA and to refund it. They responded (5 days later) that if I wanted a refund, then I would have to come into the studio first and pay for the classes in cash. I do not dispute that they were owed the money they charged me and that I would need to pay it. I just don't condone service providers that take free rein in charging your credit card whenever they decide to for whatever amount they deem owing because they have your credit card number and think they can (insert their response where they tell you that there is some small print in some document that every client signs, that no client really knows is there and which permits them to do all of the above and more at their sole discretion, haha). Also, I took these classes in February. It is February 17th. This was not a situation involving some long overdue invoice that demanded immediate recourse.

TL;DR: This place is awesome if you get the right instructors, pretty average if you don't…read more I tried out FitRepublic because (a) a friend had been there and said it was a cool spot, (b) my husband works in Bridgeland and I drive past it an awful lot, and (c) they had an introductory special. The special was $39 for 2 weeks of unlimited classes - this includes an intro to AntiGravity, but not to the regular AntiGravity classes. In those two weeks I'm pretty sure must have I set a record for most classes attended. I really did want to try this place out, so I went to 15 different classes (which amounts to just under $3 per class at that intro rate. Go me!) I don't live or work near FitRepublic at all, so my end goal was to see which classes I liked the best, so that I could go to one or two per week after the trial period. It's easy to sign up for classes online, you just purchase your pass and sign up. Then when you get there you sign in and that's that. It's much like other class-based fitness places in that sense. I ended up taking Booty Barre, Rowing, Biker Barre, Hard Knocks (kickboxing), TRX, TRX Strength Circuit, Rhythm Ride, and SPIN Express. I took many of these twice with different instructors, when possible, to try and get the full effect. The classes are mostly awesome and motivating. I am an active person, but I'm also not a small person, and can easily be intimidated by places where everyone looks like they could be on the cover of Shape. And believe me, I was frequently the chubbiest girl in the class at FitRepublic. But the motivating, welcoming nature of the gym made me feel comfortable almost all of the time. There was one class where I clearly could not keep up, and felt more intimidation than motivation (I won't say which class or which instructor, but I cried after, which was a bummer), but this was one time out of fifteen. And when I went to that same class taught by a different instructor I had a really awesome experience, so I wouldn't begrudge FitRepublic a good review for that isolated incident. My two-week trial is almost up, and after it's done I think I'll keep going to one or two classes per week, as I had intended to. Trial=success! If you're interested, I would highly recommend getting the two-week trial and trying out as many of the classes as you can. Get a feel for which classes and which instructors you like, and judge for yourself.

I find classes where the instructors don't work out with the team minimally motivating. The class I…read moreattended here was one such class. It felt repetitive and boring, with an instructor walking around and announcing how much time we had left. Also, since she was observing us, I would expect her to correct my form. Instead, I've woken up with bruises on my forearms from the very technical kettlebell exercises that weren't properly explained. The studio in itself was cute and cozy, and the facilities were well-stocked and inviting. The class, however, could have been better.
