I highly recommend hiring Ronda from Mode Salon for your wedding day needs. Funny and talented, Ronda created a special look for me, a bride who normally goes all natural most days. She arrived promptly on our wedding day, set up shop with her makeup and hair tools, and promptly got to work on four ladies needing hair and makeup in record time. My now husband loved my look and almost didn't recognize me with my updo and perfect makeup. Ronda is very professional and talented, plus she can cover both your hair and makeup need, lessening the stress you might have in scheduling multiple vendors! I cannot recommend her more! read more

Mode is a fantastic salon. I've been going for over three years and been under the scissors of a couple of their stylists. Danielle is by far my favorite. Knowledgeable and wants to get it right and make the client happy. This is a unique place. Very clean, very warm, very trendy. They want to make you feel like a million bucks and will work to get it right and advise you against something if it truly is not in your best interest. You will also be entertained, because Rhonda is hilarious. she knows her clients and ensures they leave with a smile and another appointment. This was by far the best pedicure i ever had. I had been asking my fiance to take me here for a while, but we never had the time. A few months ago for our anniversary we both finally had the time and got me a chocolate pedicure and also got his first "man pedicure" (his agreement to his pedicure came after much coaxing on my end) We were both REALLY impressed. Upon arrival, Danielle greeted me, by name, and offered my fiance some red wine and i had some white zinfandel. Then a little later she whipped me up a chocolate smoothie in the back, which came as part of the pedicure and was DELICIOUS. Danielle (who did my chocolate pedicure) and Rhonda (who did Jasons' "man pedicure) were so friendly, and I felt like they really got to know us. The pedicures lasted over an hour, and they stayed open (after their business hours) to finish up with us and we never felt rushed or uncomfortable. They massaged our legs for a long time and I the chairs were so comfy. One thing I will say is that It is VERY expensive (Jason paid $65 for my "chocolate pedicure" and I think his was somewhere around $35) I always say "you get what you pay for" and I knew this place would be amazing. (For what he paid, this would be a WHOLE different post if it weren't amazing) I'm originally from NYC and I don't really trust just anyplace b/c they aren't always clean and I have had bad experiences at cheap/dirty places. After searching for any coupons/specials and coming up empty, I decided to sign up for the salon's email list. Just a few minutes later, I received an offer for a free haircut with any color service. That's a steal which saved me about $50! Upon arrival, I was asked to fill out a brief questionnaire and was given a glass of wine (bonus!). My wait time was less than five minutes before Rhonda, my stylist and the owner of Mode Salon was ready to take me back to get started. I decided to take a big risk by going from a caramel brunette to platinum blonde at a new salon, but Rhonda listened to my needs and new exactly what she was going to do. After mixing up the color, she lifted my ends first and saved the roots for last to ensure she wouldn't burn my scalp. We followed this up with a deep conditioning treatment that left my hair feeling awesome, not brittle as I had feared it might. Lastly, I told her I only wanted a trim and she gave me a great, face-framing style and added texture to my ends after straightening my hair. I am probably lucky in that I was her last client of the day and there were no other clients in the salon. Rhonda is extremely personable and fun to work with, and the quiet atmosphere (and the wine!) made for an extremely enjoyable experience. I think I've found my place at Mode Salon! read more

I starting going to Mode Salon because they accept 'Spa Finder' gift cards. I had gone to DL Lowry for over ten years but I noticed the prices continually increasing at a higher rate than inflation (over 200 before tip for a highlight and cut), but they did offer you brewed starbucks coffee, tea, water, or sparkling water. However, I also grew tired of the pretentious clientele and staff. Now I get a great color and highlight from Greta at a great price (around 150 for color, highlight and cut) without the pretentiousness from others around me. read more

I was in the wedding of a close friend, and while that day went really well, it was long and intense. We started our day getting hair and makeup done by Mode Salon and in addition to making us all look gorgeous they also lifted our spirits. I have curly hair that can ben tough to manage and I generally don't let other people handle it or heated hair elements near it. I had originally styled my own hair but I ran into some snags. One of their stylists applied such a gentle and skilled hand, that with a light use of curling iron, some hair spray, and a lot of skill, they elevate the shape and texture I was trying to achieve and set it up to last the whole day. It looks so wonderful! Another stylist applied make up that was deeply gorgeous. It was over all just a refinement of my own features with a few accents of color that made me look elegant and just a little fierce. The make up also held up beautifully. The whole time they were fun, supportive, and they worked with each person to actualize their individual styles and desires. I expected getting my hair and makeup done at 7am would be exhausting but the whole bridal party left their appointments feelings charged up and exuberant. It was a wonderful way to start the day and I am so grateful to the Mode Salon stylists for their amazing talent and lovely personalities. read more

This is a nail salon trying to be a spa. Never did get to mani/pedi after worst Swedish massage ever. I have been all over the states and have never had a bad massage. It was only 45 mins but paid for an hour. Masseuse didn't seem to know what he was doing, only did back. This was supposed to be a four hour day of luxury for me and daughter and we left after massage and facial. They didn't have enough workers to get mani/pedi without waiting. My facial was great by Danielle. My daughter's was not so good. We made appt but they didn't schedule. Massage room was so cold and loud. Could hear booming music in salon and workers laughing and talking. Not relaxing. Very very disappointed. read more

I've been going to Rhonda for over 3 years, and she always gives me a cut and style that is flattering and stylish. What's more, it stays looking great for weeks and weeks. I always ask her advice on how to cut it, her judgement is spot on. My hair is thick and wavy, and she knows how to use my assets to their best advantage. Everyone there is very talented and able to give good suggestions if you aren't sure what you want. Haircuts are great. Price is good. Love the ladies here! I've been coming to Danyelle for over 2 years, she's excellent at making me feel beautiful! I love that I can come one place to get hair color, cut, fancy styling, waxing, make-up, and manicures/pedicures. They are accommodating on schedules, and I always have a relaxing time here. New to the city, I was looking (and still am) for "my place." I came to Mode after some reviews on the internet. The place is small, quaint with a parking lot (not something you get when you go downtown). The people were nice, a woman (possible a stylist) was in there with her baby, although cute at first, I feel like she was distracting some of the other stylists. I got my haircut here, I was looking for something a bit fashion forward, I have medium/long hair and wanted something different with the cut. I got a good cut, but it was really just a clean-up of what I had before. Also, I could see the back area which was messy with colors everywhere, not too professional looking. Overall, an alright experience, friendly staff, but nothing to boast about. Good price, I believe my cut was just around $35, possible even a few dollars less. If you looking for something simple, clean, and for a decent price, this place would be good. If you're looking to go beyond that, I may suggest looking to another place. read more

This place is a major thumbs down. In Indy visiting my family & chose Mode through SpaFinder giftcards i had purchased for my Mom & myself. I read the SpaFinder & Mode website rules/disclaimers so we were applaulled (after our mani's were over) to have the Mode Stylist tell us that she had to keep our giftcards, even though they had a leftover balance on the cards, because Mode mails the cards to SpaFinder. This has NEVER been the case in the 10+ experiences i have had @ other Spas where i have used these cards before (including the card i have in my possession with a balance from my mani/pedi in Chicago in March). We arrived on June 19th early since it was our 1st time @ Mode. Both of our stylist kept us waiting (although they didnt appear to have clients immediately prior to us). We had to lean over a small (portable) table in order to view & select our Shellac polish on a low, small display. Even after commenting it was rather dim in that area & hard to reach the polish, my stylist did nothing.... like move the portable table ?? The manicure stations offered what appeared to be a very comfy chair - for the Stylist !!.... while we sat on FOLDING PLASTIC chairs !! My stylist - wish i knew her name but she never introduced herself - did a poor job shaping my nails. And the Shellac finish? While the product is great, my Stylist did a HORRIBLE job. She did not appear to pay attention & her station was so dimly lit that when i got outside (while the tops looked good) i could see that there was NO POLISH on the side area of most of my nails. She did manage to get polish & clearcoat on my skin & cuticles that she never cleaned off. We had other appointments & no time to go back in & have her start all over. Shellac mani's should last up to 14 days but she did such a POOR job, that today (after only 8 days) i took it off. With the sides left undone, the missing polish was ugly & annoying, the sides were bumpy where polish was missing (as Shellac gel is a thick process) and the sides started peeling up. They looked so tacky !! The hand massage & scrub process? Would have been nice if she could've spent more than 15 seconds. They get 2 stars because my Mom said her stylist, (the Jamaican) lady did a nice job on her manicure (Shellac polish covered full nail & sides) and was very pleasant..... but she is 69 yr old & uncomfortable trying to lean & select her polish and having to sit in that HORRIBLE folding, plastic chair. We will NEVER return. read more

Not impressed! I went in with my cousin to have her hair done, the main stylist took 25 (give or take a few) minutes just to greet us and take us back to her station. While my cousin was under the hooded dryer, we overheard the "master stylist" talk negatively to her clients about other clients she previously had that day. Extremely unprofessional as it already was, I heard a few nasty curse words uttered. My cousin's hair turned out sloppy, the highlights weren't all the way to the scalp and some chunks or highlights turned out somewhat of a yellow/orange color. read more

referred to mode salon by a good friend, I was led to believe the was a master stylist who received her training in manhattan new York. after six months of regular visits i began to notice extensive breakage, damage and hair loss from the crown of my head to my neck. to this day my hair has not fully grown back. after the hair loss the stylist did try unsuccessfully to administer treatment. finally she admitted she didn't understand what had happened. this from a master stylist. If you love your long hair and want to keep it long, DON'T PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!!! read more
