The 15-year-old ring was showing a lot of wear and tear, with three missing stones. After inspecting the ring, Sam the owner was confident he could restore it to its original condition and offered a very reasonable estimate. The ring was ready in 6 days. When I came in to pick it up, Sam had an almost excited look on his face as he prepared me for the big reveal. You could tell how proud he was with the final product. As he took the ring out of the bag, my face lit up - I could not believe how beautiful it was. It genuinely looked every bit as good as the day I had bought it. Called the store before coming in to ask if they can check if a diamond is real and they said yes but when i came the guy told me they don't have any machine to check if a diamond is real and he said that just by looking at the diamond without even touching it he said the diamond i have is not real. Like a true yelper, I found this place on yelp with great reviews and very close to home. I suggested my fiancé several months before we even decided to finally visit. And boy was it completely worth the trip, we had an amazing time from start to finish! Rings: just look at the photos (both my engagement ring/wedding band set and my fiancé's wedding band)! We wanted something classy but modern and unique. We had a rough idea of something wishbone/chevron shape (since my love is my lucky charm, and it helps elongate the finger nicely). I also wanted both my rings and his ring to match with the same theme. Since we are getting married 6/6 and my fiancé's bday is 7/7, I wanted to incorporate those numbers on the small diamonds. Hearing all this, Sam whipped out his pen and paper and drew a design sketch for us. He was so creative and supportive of what we wanted, but made great suggestions and recommendations. Sam then made wax molds of the rings so that we could see it in person 3D before proceeding with next steps. He truly went above and beyond to create something that we loved and even more. For my fiancé's band especially, it was Sam's idea to have a wishbone shape, but one side pointed towards him, and one side pointed towards me, and in a continuous eternity line for long wonderful marriage. Price: very very reasonable! We knew walking in, we wanted ethical lab diamonds (we both have science backgrounds, and decided mined diamonds were not what we wanted) - completely personal decision. And Sam was able to get us the most sparkly beautiful stones with extremely high quality. Given that you get fully custom designs and rings made with such care, the cost is super affordable and great value. Ambiance: Modern Jeweler is located in the corner of a big plaza with many other stores. It has double doors for security, and when you walk in, you are immediately greeted by warm welcome from staff. There are so many rings necklaces earrings on display, it's extremely hard to not ogle at them. The place is so cozy, clean, and modern, great place to come hang out and chat with Sam with your loved ones. Service: Did I mention that Sam does complimentary photoshoots for his customers? Not only is he a great Jeweler, but he's also a fantastic photographer! Look at these photos, not to be egotistical, but we look so happy and beautiful hehe. From the second I walked into Modern Jewelers, I felt welcomed. Prior, I had emailed Sam, the owner, for an appointment and he got back to me within 10 mins! I made an appointment to look at engagement rings and Sam and Stacey made it more than just an appointment; they made it an experience. They got me excited about ring shopping! As someone who is very indecisive and can get overwhelmed, they made it easy for me. They are also very knowledgeable about the different cuts, colors, clarity, etc and how to really help me narrow down what I wanted. They were also open to my friends joining me (a total of 4 of us) in order to support me and help me make a decision! I never once felt pressured to make a decision or embarassed to ask any questions. Also, from their selection, I really liked different styles and different cuts. Once I narrowed down my search, they didn't have specifically what I wanted, but they "simulated" how my ring would look with their current selection. They can create any custom ring and source for a diamond that they don't have in order to get the piece you want! They really went above and beyond and were patient with me. Went on a Saturday to get my broken chain fixed. Sam offered to change the clasp and said it would be ready after a week. He also mentioned I'm welcome to bring my stuff every six months to get cleaned for free. I got a call the following Thursday advising me that my chain was ready for pick up. I stopped by the store today carrying 10 pieces of jewelry to get cleaned. They gave me back my chain which was not only fixed but also cleaned. After paying, they told me to wait for the rest of my stuff to be cleaned. After about 10 minutes, my pieces came back all clean and shiny!!!! This is THE place! She showed us so many rings and one of the last ones she showed us was the ring I knew I was going to get, I just feel in love with it instantly. I ended up coming back a week later and this time Sam helped me, and he was great to work with. He helped me pick out a diamond, and I really liked was he took pictures during the process. He told me that the pictures he was taking were for my then girlfriend once I proposed. We discussed what I wanted and then a little less then 2 months later my ring was ready. I went to pick up the ring and I was speechless, it was perfect in everyway. He ended up taking a few more pictures while there and he told me something I'll never forget "when she looks good you look good". I had never been to Modern Jewelers before. Brought a watch in that wasn't running. Sam said it would be $35 to replace the battery. It needed a new battery but there was something wrong with it. He said let my watchmaker look at it and give you a quote on the cost to fix it. If it's more than you want to spend - no charge! I told him I really, really like the watch and was willing to spend the money to fix it. A few days later the watch was ready to pickup. The charge: $71.66 including the new battery! Unethical Pricing and Poor Business Practices! We had a very disappointing experience with this jeweler. We purchased what was presented to us as a combination engagement ring and custom-fit wedding band, with a clear total price agreed upon at the time of sale. However, when we went to pick up the wedding band--which was specifically made to fit the engagement ring--we were shocked when the jeweler suddenly demanded an additional $3,500, claiming it wasn't included. This was after the final sale was supposedly completed. We have the receipt and he still said that it wasn't included. It felt like a bait-and-switch. The two rings were clearly designed and crafted as a set, and now we're being asked to pay thousands more for a piece that was always part of the package. To make matters worse, since the wedding band was custom-made for that engagement ring, he would have had to make another one regardless. This kind of behavior is unprofessional, unethical, and deeply disappointing, especially for something as important as a wedding set. I would not recommend this jeweler to anyone. read more

My (then) fiancé and I went to Modern Jewelers to find a wedding band for me. I was ready to be very picky and not settle to anything that didn't wow me.
