Victor is awesome -- both times I walked in without an appointment, he helped me right away and clearly knows his craft. The first visit was for my TAG Formula One that needed a new battery and full service, which he handled quickly while I walked my dog. (Bonus -- he keeps dog treats outside the shop.) The second time I brought in my '80s two-tone Seiko GS -- same style worn in A View to a Kill from the 007 series -- and while he didn't mention the Bond connection, he complimented it right away and said it was a very cool watch. Brought in a neo-vintage watch for service during the pandemic and somehow the turnaround was just around 4 weeks while everywhere else was quoting me 10+ weeks. He also made sure my watch was not polished and was as close to the original condition as possible, as I really wanted to keep the patina that my uncle helped built on the watch. Had to go back just a bit after a year due to an issue and he was able have the watch repaired under warranty even though it was out of the 1-year period. Was definitely surprised! Watch service can be pricey and Victor's also honest in terms of whether or not a watch should be serviced or if you can hold off on having it serviced. I've brought in watches just to have him take a look and give me suggestions, whether it is to have it serviced with him or taking it to the brand's service center. Love that transparency. I've been in MB for 16yrs and have visited this location several times. Victor is known to be one of the best in his industry for over 30yrs. My last visit (which I consider lucky since the store hours are not common), I brought in a basic $150 watch to get a battery replaced. Victor was busy with someone looking at Rolex's. He took a moment to see what I needed and then quoted $55, stating he needed to use his pressure sealer machine to help prevent water damage. I declined and went to Engravable U & Watch Repair at the MB mall up the street. $15 and LITERALLY, 3 minutes later...I was out the door. I personally felt brushed off since I wasn't perhaps Rolex shopping. In addition, I never get my watch wet so it would have been nice if he gave a quote without the up-sale of the pressure gizmo. I was very disappointed in Victor, the owner, and his service of my Victorinox watch. He insisted close to $1,000 was necessary to perform a major overhaul on my timepiece. He outsourced the job and when I went in to pick it up, he told me proudly that I shouldn't have to service it for another 15 to 20 years. Well, 18 months later, the watch stopped working. I didn't want to admit to myself or anybody else that I had ben conned, so I bit the bullet and spent good and precious money somewhere else to get it properly serviced. But it made sense. If you've been taken for a ride, would you go back to get taken for a ride twice over? No. As they say, the first time it happens, shame on him. The second time it happens, shame on me.
