I think the whole "farm to table" thing is making all my fellow Boulderites squeal with delight. However, that is not enough for me. I had the shredded pork tenderloin sandwich, and it was OK, but it was nothing to write home about. A bit on the dry side. The tenderloin was sliced like cold cuts, which were the rolled and placed between the buns, they were warm on the outside and cold in the middle. Very little flavor to it, it needed a sauce badly. I would not pay $8.75 for it again. I can see how the "simple, fresh, subtle flavors" may appeal to some here, but I found it mediocre and unimaginative. Did not try the flatbread pizza, but it looked amateur hour to me, (then again I am from NY and am a total pizza snob, so take that with a grain of salt). I am kind of in the middle with deciding whether this place is worth going anymore. The only reason I've gone here is because of the buy one get one free coupon they give out on campus. I used it about four times and the food came out pretty decent. I stopped ordering any chicken entrees because I realized that they leave the chicken in the food warmer to keep it warm and do not cook it fresh, so the chicken tends to come out dry. I've tried the pizza a few times and it was just okay. Nothing spectacular about it. I've also tried the sandwich and it was just okay. The meat was kind of dry and the portions are pretty small for what you pay for. I realized that the salads here are over priced and I only got them because I had a coupon. Anyways. would I go here again. probably not, unless I have a coupon for buy one get one free again. I do really appreciate that they use fresh foods and organic foods, but I think they should reconsider how the meat is prepared, especially the chicken. read more

Went for lunch at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Saturday. It was crowded with few places to sit. The tables were dirty and not being attended to, the floor and restroom were really dirty and trash was piled up near the doors. The guy who occasionally came out to bus was barely moving. Food was okay, but had coffee and was told there was no milk or cream available! Never again for me. read more

Good "fast" food. The menu creates a cluster as far as people ordering though. I have a rule that if more than 5 people are in line @ modmarket I move on because I just don't have enough time to deal with a the indecisiveness their menu bestows upon newbies. read more

The farmer salad is the bomb. I have it at least once a week. I also like their gluten free BBQ chicken pizza. Unfortunately that is all I have ever got from Modmarket. Once I find perfection, I don't like to take a chance on something else. read more

We placed a fairly large order for our office and got back to the office and an item was missing. We had to drive back and pick up the item because they couldn't deliver. They were supposed to credit our account the item that was forgotten and has still not done so, 11 days later. I have called the restaurant 3 times and still no credit. Was told on the 3rd call that the manager said he comped some items for us and gave us some coupons, but that is not the case. All we are asking them for is a credit on our account for the item that was not included with our order. So buyer beware, make sure you have all items accounted for before you leave the restaurant!! read more

I love ModMarket! I've been there several times and the food is amazing! I ordered a full sized salad and it was huge, and filling. I was able to eat about 2/3 before feeling very full. Those salad tossers know what they're doing! Their Thai Coconut Salad is my favorite!!! I always come back for more!! To be honest, I am not a big fan their sandwiches but that's only because I'm not into sandwiches. But their salads are always so fresh and never disappointing! I moved to Downtown Denver, but whenever come down up to Boulder to see my friends, it's easy to convince them to go to Modmarket for lunch! One of my friends is still a student at CU so sometimes we get to use BOGO free coupons but regarless, I would always come back here for Thai Coconut Salad! read more

There are many places to eat on 16th street and I picked this one because it was clean, modern and busy. What a disappointment. First, be aware that if you order a "Homestyle Plate with two sides" you will be charged extra for each of the two sides it "comes with." So, the chicken plate isn't $7 it's really $11, the steak plate isn't $10 it's really $14, etc. I ordered the flank steak plate with sides of curry zucchini and mashed sweet potatoes. Normally flank steak is the leanest cut of beef you can get but the one I was served was just one long piece of fat. The curry zucchini looked like someone had dumped a jar of curry on it so I had to take a pass on that as well. The sweet potatoes were good and had pieces of potato skin. They probably have the best salads in town for the money. The wintergreen is probably my fav. You can also order with less dressing. I've never tried the sandwiches or pizza, but they look and smell great. Having the calorie count listed on the menu is really nice too. read more

My family and I dined at Mod Market this evening. I arrived at the restaurant happy to be spending time with my family and looking forward to enjoying a yummy salad. I left the restaurant feeling AWFUL. I eat out frequently and have not only never written a negative review, I have never even contemplated doing so. The manner in which I was treated this evening demands that I do so now. I ordered the Superfood salad and was informed that they were out of one of the ingredients - quinoa pilaf. I looked at the salad bar - which was quite a mess and rather unappetizing - in an effort to find a substitute ingredient. When I spotted the goji wheat salad, an employee named Rob quickly and rudely informed me that I would have to pay an "upgrade" to substitute that ingredient. Undeterred by the rude behavior and the disarray of the salad bar, my family and I then placed our order - including the Superfood salad with goji rather than quinoa as they were out of quinoa. The person at the register told us the total - more than I expected - but we did not question it - and my husband paid. At that same moment, Rob came to the register and loudly chastised the person at the register for failing to charge us the $1.50 "upgrade" and instructed her to run our card again with the $1.50 "upgrade" charge. My husband and I allowed her to run our card again for the $1.50 charge without comment. Then, as we were walking to our table, Rob yelled at me that he specifically told me there would be an "upgrade" charge for the goji salad - insinuating that I somehow knew I wasn't charged the extra $1.50 (even though the bill was already more than I expected - turns out I was mistakenly charged for a full meal rather than a kids meal for my daughter). I asked to speak to a manager - Justin Miller. Justin was perfectly pleasant and completely ineffective in addressing the atrocious behavior of Rob. Mod Market got their $1.50 "upgrade" charge so that I could substitute an ingredient that they were out of - and forever lost my business and the business of my family. read more

I talked to a girl named Val here in longmont, (at a movie store of all places) about this place....I was with a friend and my friend and I had been talking about wanting more gluten free that we never found anything worth going to eat at, just make at home things and as she was checking out our movies. She cut in and said she worked another job in boulder and told us about mod market. I hopefully will get to try it soon but I looked at the website with my friend when we got home and it made us so hungry!!!!!!!! So next time I am in boulder that's were I am eating and if it is as awesome as she said in person, I will bring friends and family there! i am happy this was recommended. I hope we get something in longmont like this. Also showtime video is good place to go after dinner if anyone ever needs friendly service and movie's here in longmont.
