I've been a customer at this place for 6 years. The service is usually great but the prices have increased dramatically since they put the new bar in (and they deny the increase when you ask). I was told my gel pedicure was $40 but when I went to pay, they told me it was $60: $40 for pedicure and $20 for nail polish. After tipping the nail tech, my pedicure ended up costing $70+! That is bonkers. I won't be coming back, unfortunately. read more

I had an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. The employee working with me repeatedly left to help other customers - I ended up being there for 2.5 hours. The process normally takes an hour (regular polish only). Worse, the manicure is terrible and I had to remove the polish when I got home. The polish was put on way too thick, causing it to bubble and take forever to dry. When I pointed out the bubbles, she put on more polish, making the problem worse. No apology was made. I've been a customer at this salon for years, and understand that they want to serve as many people as possible, but this should not mean sacrificing quality. I will not be returning. read more

As a guitar player, I've found that my picking style tends to wear down the nails on the first two fingers of my right hand. On a busy weekend, I would routinely be trying to keep my fingers from bleeding on stage, s as my nails would be down to the quick. A fellow musician mentioned acrylic nails as a solution- they can offer a layer of protection over your real nails. They were absolutely correct, and I've gotten this done several times now at this salon. Although the acrylic was thicker than I wanted it the first time (it interfered with my strumming), trial and error has made the difference and now I'm very happy with the result. These folks listened to what I wanted, asked questions, and then made it happen. And it only cost fifteen bucks. I'll be coming back. read more

Love this place! Vivian does a great job on my dip nails paying attention to details Even better they have all matching sets for your dip mani to match your pedi! The customer serivce is spot on. I went rock climbing and chipped one of my nails, and they fixed it without any extra charge! I never feel rushed by them. Plus they are super honest. I came here for a mani pedi and an eyebrow wax. Although I'm used to New York prices and it was a bit more expensive, this place was pretty darn good. I'm on crutches and so they had to be very gentle with my leg during the pedicure. They were excellent about that. My toes, nails and eyebrows came out looking fantastic and they were efficient. I came here to get my nails done for my engagement photos because of the high reviews. I truly do not understand the good reviews....my nails have never looked worse. I spent 2 HOURS and $90 for my nails to be all different shapes, lumpy and bubbly. Not to mention that they are peeling only 2 days later even with it being dip and gel. Rip off, two nails chipped same day, bad service. I have gone to Modern Nail Salon for years since high school and now I'm in my mid 20's. I have brought a lot of business with me as well over the years. My shellac mani and shellac pedi has always cost $77 on the dot and I've always tipped over 20%. Today when I went in with a friend on a snowy slow day to get a shellac pedicure because my friend had to go to work soon after. They handed us the pedicure menu with different options and the cheapest was $48. I said something about how that was crazy and she said a basic would be $30 so we were expecting a grand total of MAX $40 each including shellac upcharge. They had a lady who kept trying to sell us things and kept trying to push us to also get a manicure but we said we were on a time crunch and couldn't do it but she tried insisting they could do it quickly but who wants a rushed mani or pedi anyway? Bad sign and we kept saying no. We just wanted to relax, chat and not worry about anything else in that moment. They finished up and they both looked great but they barley massaged us and didn't even trim our cuticles or use a hot towel. We get up to pay at the front and the lady who kept trying to push us into spending more money tells us that mine is $55 and hers is $50. Outrageous. I felt very deceived and taken advantage of as well. When I said she told us $30, she then replied saying shellac was a $20 upcharge. 2 of my friends toenails chipped as soon as she got to work 1 hour later. They have lost a valuable regular for life. I have visited Modern Nail Spa on three separate occasions. The first was to get a pedicure which according to their menu lasts at least 40 minutes. I was in and out in less than 30 and therefore, was pretty upset, given the price. Decided to talk to management before putting it on Yelp. They were kind enough to offer a discount for my next visit and while grateful, wasn't enough to make me want to come back. Came the third time because its one of the few spas open at the moment and paid over 100$ for a pedicure and dip manicure, which is obscene to me and 3 days later my dip (which is supposed to last 3 weeks) has chipped. I will be going in on Tuesday to get them redone (hopefully at no expense) because 3 days is not even close to the 3 week life they're supposed to have. Additionally, they don't use fresh tools from the package for their services and I'm sure while they're sanitized, they're just not as clean as they could be. I will go for the repair and then never again. read more

Horrible experience. Had appt for 3 pedi, plus one mani. Was a mother's day present from two daughters. Started off bad, water was cold, told them 3x it was cold, never got warm. They started one daughter, lady came to me said she didnt have right gloves for the acetone so she went to work on other daughter. Sat there for an hour with feet in cold water. Decided i really didnt need mine done, got my shoes on. Lady BEGGED me to stay, said she would give me a % off, meanwhile some else came in for a pedi. They brought a bottle of lotion over to me. Guy finishes first daughter, goes over to customer who just came in, starts her pedi. Totally ignores me. Finally start mine. One daughter goes to pay, its $179 plus change. While doing mine lady says she forgot to tell him we had callus remover, thats another $14, so he goes to daughter and says she needs to pay $14 more. I ask about the % off and she says you got the lotion instead. Appt was at 4:30, got out almost 7. Ridiculous, besides being pricey they have no regard for their customers, DONT GO HERE. read more

I love my toes and my feet feel amazing except for. The only problem is I have really ticklish feet, so I apologize for all the moving when y'all were doing the pedicure stuff. But it was great. I used to love this place when it had previous ownership. I love Ivy and she has done such a wonderful job. I'm a woman with a spinal cord injury, so finding someone to work with my hands is really important. With new management I am so sad to share how different it is. I scheduled an appointment for 5 o'clock. Transportation as a woman with the spinal cord injury, it's not easy and upon my arrival, they informed me that they did not have me on the schedule and that I would have to wait for an hour. With the amount Barriers, I already face day-to-day, This was a total blow. Not to mention I said outside in the cold because they don't have an automatic button in order for me to get in independently. As a business owner myself, I would have may sure to provide some level accommodations to fix the situation (I literally get a basic manicure), but nothing was offered. Poor management and customer retention... I just wanted my nails to look pretty for the holidays. read more
