We searched Google for an auto repair shop in Lampasas and randomly picked L&H Automotive. I was so glad we chose that shop. We called and told them that we were waiting for our tow to show up and we'd be there as soon as we could. We arrived at 5:05 p.m. on a Friday and I'm sure everyone was ready to go home and start the weekend. I can't tell you how impressed I was that three or four guys stayed and worked on our car for over two and a half hours. The repair, while temporary, allowed us to make our vacation rental and get back home to Benbrook TX. This was not the easy repair you would want to see after closing hours. Had they not done this we would have had to stay in Lampasas all weekend, lose our cabin rental which was non-refundable and a good part of Monday. The courtesy and respect they showed my wife and I is something that we will never forget. While no one likes it when their car breaks down, and especially knowing what is involved to getting the A/C compressor and related parts of the system back up and running. We considered ourselves very blessed to have come across this amazing group of guys. It's no wonder Jay was voted best mechanic of Lampasas county for 2021. If we lived in this great community I know where I would be taking our autos for servicing and repair. You guys rock, and Sandy the dog does too.

I went here for an altenator replacement. Six and a half hour later they finally got the parts but…read moretold me I would have to pay $151 for a front end alignment because they needed to remove the rack and pinion assembly. They had a cheezy print out that said right hand drive below the picture. Fine if we were in Europe. They then recanted the alignment and finally did the work. A day and a half for a 3 hour tops job. They finally opened the hood to do the work and needed to disconnect some radiator hoses to do the work. What is so abysmal is that they returned my car to me with the radiator 4 quarts low and didn't say a word about it. They also left the did not reattatch the top shroud. Just left it loose in the engine compartment. Had I not checked the fluid before going to Temple I would of ended up with a burned out motor and or disable on the expressway. So if you are in need of some new muffler bearings go here. Otherwise I suggest you stay away and seek out a mechanic that knows what he is doing.

They were very gracious and immediately checked the tires and added air. Obviously they were low and this made me feel much better about my drive home. I have owned the same vehicle for 5 years, it had tinted windows when I purchased it. I have never been pulled over for the windows. It has always passed inspection with no problem. This guy tells me I have to remove my tint and replace wiper blades that were replaced 6 months ago. If I was the owner of this place there is no way I would have a guy like this representing my business. He is a miserable human being that takes out his frustrations on paying customers. I guess he thought I was a gullible female that was gonna pay him to remove my tint and change wiper blades. I don't think it's a good idea for repair shops to be inspection stations as well. They use the service as a way to get more business for themselves by fabricating issues that are BS in hopes of making more money. Worst experience ever.

Just look at their warranty disclaimer; They leave it blank so they can scam the customers without saying anything. They just scammed me for over $600.00 for purchasing an incorrect part, so save your money. Update - After over weeks trying and unable to get my refund, I had to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau, https://respond.bbb.org/. When the scammers got notice from the BBB, they decide to refund me. They still charged me 25% or over $160 for restocking fee. This issue began at the Midland, GA store, where I brought my car in for A.C. repairs. I was sent off with temporary cold air that failed within four months. No one explained the relationship between the compressor and condenser--basic knowledge that should've been disclosed upfront. Instead, I was given a partial fix that felt designed to fail. When I brought the vehicle to Killeen, I was told management had been trying to contact Midland to resolve the issue. That turned out to be false. After finally speaking with both RTMs, I learned there had been no communication at all. I've now paid for a rental car, waited over a month, and been told I'm responsible for the full cost of repairs--despite my loyalty and the fact that a previous repair was absorbed without issue. Only Phillip at the Killeen store showed professionalism and consistency. Everyone else--from store managers to regional leadership--either misled me or failed to follow through. I appreciate Matt Zellars reaching out, but stronger advocacy is needed. I've spent significant money with Mavis over the years, and to be treated like this is unacceptable.
