I was very disappointed in the tailoring, especially after so many positive reviews. I had a long flowy dress to be hemmed. When pinning it in the store, I had them pin it shorter than they usually do, just above my toes, to avoid tripping. It was $80. I got the dress home to wear for an event and it was still way too long. I was wearing the same shoes they pinned it in and it dragged on the ground. A complete waste of $80. I brought a jumpsuit in that needed shortening. When he was measuring, he said $25. When he writes up the invoice he said he made a mistake and it is $30. Weird since he is the owner why he would quote the wrong price and it was just a hem not lined. Wasn't going to argue over $5 and the reviews were good so I felt it will be worth it. Came out fine I bring a dress in that needs some taking in under the arm pit, he says 45. I say ok,then he says it needs something else. I say ok doesn't tell me that it will be $90. I gasp no just do the original way then. When he writes it up he again says Oh I quoted the wrong price it should be more but I will leave it at $45. Ok great, he tells me to leave the hanger because he doesn't have those kind so he can hang it correctly. I say ok it was the hanger from the store and it was s good hanger. Go to pick up the dress and it doesn't fit right. He says he will fix it be ready the next day. It was fixed but, not great. Doesn't have my hanger gives me something but whatever it is only a hanger. Come home to hang up the dress with the straps that the manufacturer sews in on the inside so the dress can lay properly, he removed them. Even if he needed to remove to do the work he should have put them back. I have s problem with this. Now, I will not go back. I think he takes stuff off to use on other people's clothes, and his work is NOT great especially what he charges. read more

I was recommended to go to Modern Tailoring when my current tailor was complaining of me being too picky and needing work to be too precise. Thank goodness I was referred here because Bernie is amazing. Although I live in Summerlin, it's worth the drive to Henderson to get my work done since I know that Bernie will do it right and will always make sure I'm happy with my alterations. Bernie was amazing!! I came in late Friday afternoon asking to have my work dress hemmed because it was 8-9 inches too long. And I put on the dress and told him what job I do and without hesitating he suggested that I do a different style cut in order to suit my job better. And I loved it! He worked fast, was way to explain things too, I felt like he really understood what I wanted and did it. After pinning my dress, I had to mention I needed it by Monday early morning and he said he was very busy that weekend however he could make time for it and that I would love it. I did have a slightly higher charge because I needed it rushed but it was worth my money! I picked it up Monday morning on time and I loved the fit, and his work was awesome. Definitely 5 star. He does really clean amazing work. Bernie is a really cool guy. Hes done a few thing for me already tailored a shirt for a perfect fit. After I seen his work I trusted him to work on a 100% cashmere goosedown lined coat From Italy that I needed the sleeves shortened and the bottom shortened which involved moving the inside pocket. He measured me and took in the waist area a little bit and now this coat looks amazing its all about the fit!! It very hard to find someone that pays attention to detail like that. It looks so good I'm mad that its going to be summer now, but ill be ready for winter later. I sew also so I have a very good idea what's involved with the work but I am not good enough to work on my own stuff yet, so when you want a professional job go to this place. I did and I couldnt be happier! I trusted him with a $4000 Moorer 100% Cashmere coat. That was scary as hell when I didnt know him at first. Now I would trust him with anything! Absolutely anything and so should you! I am going to have him fix up a blazer that I made from scratch and have him make me a nice custom blazer in the future! I went here to have a Bridesmaids dress altered and was told it would be ready one a Thursday so I went the day after to pick it up. Not only was it NOT ready, the guy helping me could not even find the dress at first! Finally we find the dress - and I say WE bc I had to go in the back to look for it! By now a second employee came in and said they would give me 50% off the original quotes price for the alterations. I picked up the dress today, not only was the owner not willing to stand by his employee(s) regarding the price, he minimized that person's position. Mind you that was the only person who was nice enough to me. Anyways i took out my card to pay & the owner said he would give me 25% off, not the 50% i was quoted on Friday. I said that's not right especially after you guys misplaced my dress in the first place! He said fine forget it, take it for free. Ok sure will. Good thing i did too bc he made it super short, not sure why since i didnt ask for it to be so short. Although can still take it on & off without unzipping it, it is now cutting off the circulation in my armpits. It's to the point where I can barely move my arms. Needless to say I will NOT be returning here. read more
