We have a huge amount of east-facing glass, and with summers getting hotter every year, our dual-pane low-e windows just weren't cutting it anymore. After getting three quotes, we chose Modern Touch because they came highly recommended by a friend and offered very fair pricing. We went with Vista SpectraSelect VS70 SR CDF. It wasn't the ceramic film we originally had in mind, but the specs were impressive: 53% solar energy rejection, over 99% UV protection, and 70% visible light transmission. In real life, we can barely tell the difference in brightness. A big factor for us was the warranty. Since exterior panes can sometimes crack when interior heat-reflecting film is added, we wanted to make sure glass breakage was covered. Robert assured us he has never had a window break from this film, and he also emailed us the manufacturer's warranty confirming coverage. Robert and his crew were professional, courteous, and efficient. They completed the entire wall of windows in one day and did a great job. I waited a few weeks to review because June was fairly cool, but after a couple of hot days, I can definitely feel the difference. Standing by the windows with the sun coming in, the room feels noticeably more comfortable. I'm really glad we did it, and I'm hopeful it will help reduce our electric bill too. read more

Although the price of this sort of thing is much higher than I'd ever imagined it would be (based on a number of estimates), and I wondered if I could have done it myself (probably fairly badly), I had these guys do it so our house would not looked half-assed. Called Modern Touch because we had some windows we needed to get done in order to cut down on the glare and heat. Called Robert and after I sent him measurements and pictures he was quick to provide an estimate which was a lot more affordable than what I was expecting. A few days later Joaquin and Sergio came out and let me tell you....they were great! Very professional and super nice. I was concerned there was going to be a lingering chemical smell but they only use soap and water....so no smell! They laid down tarps to protect my floors/area rugs and wore booties on their shoes when walking around. They finished in about 4 hours and I could see the difference right away. We recently had our home completely redone w/ new LLumar Vista Series films. This was a big job, as it involved removing a lot of old films that we had applied around 25 yrs ago. Most of the old films were clouded, bubbled and looked terrible, and scraping them off was a huge amt of work. Extremely poor customer service. We were referred to this company a good customer of ours. We called and scheduled an appointment to have someone come out to give us a quote on tinting our shop windows. Robert came out and spoke to our owner and took measurements of the glass that we needed tinting. Three weeks and no word from Robert regarding a quote. We have tried to contact him with no success. When I called the phone number on the business card 866-738-4488, I told the lady on the phone what was happening and she said she would have someone get back to us right away. This recent episode of Infernal Heat Waves turned our room with LOTS of windows into an Oven. I did research on window tinting for homes and came across lots of great information on the Internet regarding different window film solutions that provide solar heat reduction. I sent emails out to different companies and one person called me back promptly: Robert from Modern Touch Window Tinting. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived on time. Robert provided me with information and solutions, he took measurements, he provided a recommendation on a product, and provided me with a quote. I felt that he was there to be a resource, not to sell me on something. I did obtain one other quote, so I knew that the price that I was quoted was fair and comparable to at least one other company. But Robert went "above and beyond" to provide me with a sample of the product and great customer care and follow up, so I chose him for the job.
