This crook kept me for an additional day at the hospital because he said a Dr. had reported they heard me making statements indicating I was homicidal. I was not even suicidal much less homicidal. He was trying to railroad a mental health nurse to inpatient care because I guess maybe he was behind on his car payments. He asked me three times during the first interview what I did for a living. You think he would remember if someone told him they were a mental health RN but not this genius. I was in for pain and CMH did a mental health screen and cleared me. Then the NP later told me since Mark assessed me he could override the CMH recommendation. Of course they did not tell me this prior to seeing this liar. I will never step foot back in a McLaren as a patient. I will be going to Munson in Gaylord or Traverse city. I find it hard to believe this guy has so many good reviews, I question the veracity of these reviews. They cannot possibly be real. He provided substandard clinical performance with clearly questionable medical judgement and honesty to be frank. He was dismissive of my statements and he talked at me more than to me trying to build his BS case for homicidal ideation. He lacked professional conduct as his approach to medicine was highly questionable and unprofessional, he actually called me a liar when I denied homicidal ideation and told him he was a quack. He yelled it as the nurse was pulling the monitor away from my bed. His dismissive attitude and unprofessional conduct compromised the patient-physician relationship. It was all BAD, it is as simple as that. I honestly cannot say one good thing about him. I only saw him twice but he made and cancelled multiple appointments throughout the day and I saw him LATE. UNACCEPTABLE! Even my nurse said he was horrible. The NP that was caring for me overrode this MOMO's recommendation and I was discharged to home at the end of the second day on the trauma floor. I have patients on the behavioural health unit I work on tell me that ER nurses and doctors as well as psychiatrists and CMH screeners lie about what they say all the time, I was skeptical regarding this possibility but now I know this definitely happens. What is way more common though is the patients telling me that ER staff tell them they can either get out after 72 hours or they can leave whenever they want. Then once they get on the unit they find out the truth. This is exactly what happened to me. I was told I would leave the next day after a MRI was performed but this was not the case. This experience has made me change my specialty in nursing as I refuse to work for a behavioural health unit, I do not want to be any part of the broken mental health system in this country. Instead, I later found out they were billing my insurance approximately $750 PER DAY (and yes, they will force you to go in everyday for your meds in the beginning) for visits that consisted of little more than coming in and receiving my Suboxone at a window. According to my Blue Cross Blue Shield account, the first four days alone were already nearly $3,000 in charges, and there are still additional days marked as "in process," and Lord only knows what those days are going to be costing. My guess is 750 dollars again. Sickening. For context, with my prescription plan, my Suboxone would typically be a $10 copay for a 30-day supply if prescribed through a regular doctor and filled at a pharmacy. Instead, I was placed into a system where I was required to come in repeatedly just to pick up medication at a window, while each visit was billed at hundreds of dollars. I was initially told I would only need to come in for the first seven days. When those seven days were coming to an end they informed me I would have to continue coming in three days a week for another three weeks just to receive my medication. Each of these visits was being billed at around $750, despite the fact that I was simply showing up to a window to get medication that could otherwise be managed through a standard pharmacy prescription. Talk about scam! During my entire time there, I saw a doctor over Zoom ONE TIME and met with a drug and alcohol counselor ONE TIME for intake and a treatment plan. Blood was drawn, and I was given lab results that were never adequately reviewed or explained to me. Additionally, most of the blood work results I received were marked "test not performed -- specimen past stability," meaning they were not actually completed or were unusable, and I was never given a clear explanation as to why or what that meant for my care. What I find most disturbing is the amount being charged to insurance compared to the actual care provided. The vast majority of my visits involved no physician interaction, no counseling, and no meaningful treatment beyond walking up to a window for medication. Yet, hundreds and hundreds of dollars per visit were being billed. It felt less like patient-centered care and more like a system designed to maximize billing. Patients seeking help for addiction are vulnerable and deserve transparent pricing and ethical treatment. My experience left me feeling misled about costs and pressured into unnecessary in-person visits simply to access medication. I cannot recommend Symetria based on my experience.

This was my first time coming to this center and getting a full body massage. From the moment I stepped into the center, I immediately felt calm, soothed and welcomed. The entire center has an element theme. There's a room named air, fire, earth, wind and water. There's dimly lit lighting, the scent of incense in the air, crystals all around, and soothing music playing. My massage therapist was Kristine. She was very friendly and put me at ease right away. I took a minute to fill out a new patient sheet and she discussed any medical conditions or anything that I wanted to focus on. She gave me a tour of the center and then we began my treatment. The raindrop treatment was awesome! She dropped (8), I think, essential oils down my spine, then covered them with a warm damp towel and let them soak in, meanwhile she began my massage. Kristine was excellent!!! She always made sure that I was comfortable and that nothing was too painful. The raindrop treatment helped to loosen up my muscles and also acts as a detox. It was very refreshing, even though I smelled like a "pizza" after wards. Haha...I think one of the oils was oregano. I had my massage yesterday and today I actually feel pretty darn good. I've been in constant pain the past 2 weeks due to fibromyalgia, and the massage and raindrop treatment truly helped me! I can't wait until my next treatment! Overall, this place is awesome. They offer more than just massage. They do traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, ear candling, and reiki. They even have an infared sauna and do all kinds of body wraps and such. During the appointment, I asked five questions regarding my health concerns; only two were addressed, and the responses provided were brief and insufficient. The examination itself was limited to vital signs. Dr. Szabo then indicated that she would return shortly, but instead a nurse entered the room. I asked the nurse whether Dr. Szabo could return to address my remaining questions, and the nurse stated that she would locate her. After waiting an additional 30 minutes without an update, we left the examination room and observed Dr. Szabo at her workstation. When the nurse again attempted to check whether Dr. Szabo was available, Dr. Szabo screamed/responded harshly that I "was supposed to leave 30 minutes ago." At that point, my remaining questions had still not been addressed, and I left the office without receiving the consultation expected from the visit. Including commute time, the appointment required nearly two hours and concluded without resolution of my medical concerns.
