Overall good experience. The nurse who worked on me was very nice and professional. She answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. The place is very nice and clean. Four stars only because of the front desk experience. There were three ladies there, two customers. All three of them were assisting both customers which created a total confusion among them. I LOVE KATE!! I was nervous at first because they didn't have the greatest reviews on here. But I just got fillers in my lips on July 2 and Kate was amazing. She was super patient with me and answered all my questions! I asked her about getting fillers in my laugh lines and she was honest with me in saying I didn't need them so they don't try to just sell you something you don't need! I would've done zero stars if possible. My mother and I had a bad experience with MALC. The nurse who did my Botox had little to no experience and even spilled the product TWICE. The area where she spilled looked bad for a while and thank goodness the Botox didn't last as long as I'm used to because my face went back to looking normal sooner. My mother was a whole different nightmare.... Time to go back to my plastic surgeon who knows what he's doing. Botched Botox! I went to Advance Laser Clinic in March 2019 for botox injections. 3 days after the injection my left eye had and still has a severe droop. I look like I have had a stroke. The nurse practitioner who did the injections was Joshlin Johnson. You sign wavier that this is a risk but it is suppose to be a rare occurrence. I am a medical professional and after looking at the evidence based practice and speaking with doctors in plastic surgery I can tell you this is an injection error. Too much botox too low. My daughter went to this clinic for lip filler and she came out looking like someone punched her in the lip. I spoke to Natalie the owner for partial compensation. After all, I spent over $400.00 to look like this and to have to explain to my family why I look this way. Once I mentioned, that she would not return my calls. You can be a nurse practitioner, an RN or a doctor. If you haven't had adequate training doing these procedure than it is like a spin at the roulette wheel every time you go in. I will never go back and just a word of caution for those who think cheap botox is the way to go. Also, they don't wash their hands. When you go in, their gloved up and then they write in your chart. Well guess what, your injections are no longer sterile. Protect yourselves. Please reconsider going there. read more

I gave two stars because they used to be awesome years ago and now the place has bad service so I dropped it to two stars. I spent a lot of money with 5 or more packages for laser plus return visits. I also purchased products from them. One of the women scheduled me for a package I had not paid for. I told her I might not have the money for it but she said, lets put you down anyway. Months later I get my text only confirmation and I go in and pay for a follow up sessions but did not want to do the package. The woman never removed the appt from their calendar when I did not purchase the package. Shouldn't they check their calendar and payments? I was treated horrible!!! The young lady was trying to schedule me and the older one insisted there are no appointments for three months. They wasted three months and the only reason I went back was to finish the original package I paid for almost a year ago. Guess what! They were lying. I had friends call in and they had appointments available. They decided they were going to penalize me for not purchasing a package even though I stated I might not have the money for it. Keep in mind, it wasn't my idea to schedule it on the calendar. When I walked in for my last appointment, they pretended to not know my name. Then on my way out, I said bye and they ignored me. Wow!! I spent thousands and thats how I was treated! The second problem is quality of laser. In the first few years, I had amazing results. Over the last year and half, the quality was decreased on several body parts. The nurse turned down the power of the laser and there were times, I barely had results. Her response was "well you have to tell us it wasn't strong enough". I asked, " Shouldn't you know that based on my history?" She said "we had to purge our records so we do not have a history on laser clients. We have to start low and increase gradually because we don't know what level you were at before." So basically they have to test it but if they guess wrong, your money is wasted. Basically she wasted two of my paid sessions testing the level of laser. I can say with absolute certainty that one of the areas had zero results after the recent two sessions. I had previously had 7 or 8 sessions in that area that worked. They say some areas are stubborn... not true. Mine was the whole area that had zero results, not just a stubborn area. Again I want to make it clear that I am not exaggerating! Waste of Money!!! When they make a mistake in scheduling, you get penalized or bumped off the calendar for months. This is bad customer service. I will not do business with people who play games with appointments. I, like many other people, am busy. Don't waste my time! When I asked if I can be on call or call in to see if someone cancels, the tall older woman (not Gwen) said, "we never get cancelations". LADIES STAY AWAY! I have been coming here since I was a teen, and have spent over 8k in laser treatments. Not only has the hair reduction been mediocre but the last time I had treatments I had broken out in ingrowns and acne around my legs and areas no woman should have to deal with. Not only was the manager NATALIE extremely rude and did not give two shits, but she refused to give me a refund or help me in any type of way. She wiggled her way out of the whole situation and manipulated me. I'm now left with scars that will not go away. Ladies please go somewhere else. Their cheap products and work is not worth it. There are so many better places out there. They made me feel like shit and then made me feel like it was my fault. Plus once things went bad I could never get them to answer my calls and they had me on hold forever. Once they have your money THEY DO NOT CARE ANYMORE. Go somewhere else!! read more

By far the WORST place ever!!! Staff is extremely rude! Scheduled my appointment, took them 3 months to get me in and when I arrived for my appointment finally they told me I didn't have one! I showed staff an email that they had sent me reminding me of my schedule appointment and basically they told me it was a mistake and I would have to reschedule another one. I waited another month to get in and when I arrived I waited 2 hours to be seen. Finally, after getting my lips done I was extremely upset due to my lip being uneven. Staff said they would be fine and I would be very happy with the outcome in a few days but that NEVER happened! I called to let them know but they kept putting me on hold to speak to someone about it, they did this for about 15 min and finally hung up on me! After a month my lips went back to normal and I was thankful they did! I missed work and stayed home till my lips looked decent! Waste of time and money! Worst experience ever! Chose this place from all the great reviews! I have light skin and dark thick hair and excema/sensitive skin. I went in and got price quotes from Gwen(super nice and knowledgeable). And got booked right away for a trial run(as in pay for one session with the duet laser) to see if I could stand the pain. The duet laser doesn't hurt, it feels like a warm massage on fleshy parts and on bone(legs) it does sting a bit with a burn, but it goes by so quick. Did my legs in a few minutes with Kate who is an RN. Really liked her too! P.s. they didn't tell me that you can't get it done when on antibiotics until after it was done and it wasn't on their do/don't list. Also no tanning or bronzer during the lengthy process so start it in the winter! You gotta wait 12 weeks between sessions & 6 weeks no plucking/waxing/bleaching. They have to do small areas like Brazilian with the cool tip laser which does hurt. I got that done with some other lady besides Kate and I swear I didn't feel her do the lips right and she wasn't as thorough as a normal Brazilian on the rear. I even asked her if she did it and she said yes. I am planning on complaining during next visit. Remember you gotta shave before. I am getting my entire body and face done and it came out to about $4000. I paid it all at once on my credit card. They also recommend you get sunblock with zinc! They are open only 2 Saturdays out of the month. My only complaint was the Brazilian and lack of info on the antibiotics thing but other than that so far so good read more

Please don't waste your money going to this place! They completely deceive their clients. They promise you great results just to make you sign the contract. I had been told that i needed 5 sessions of laser treatment .when i didn't see any results after 4 session of laser hair removal they told me that it's because everyone is different And it depends on your hormones. She then told me it might take up to 10sessions maybe more. Which of course they would have to charge for. Then said laser hair removal is not guaranteed.wish I would have been told that before I gave them $800!! When I complained about the horrible service GWEN told she she didn't want to talk to me no more. Had an appointment for a consultation. I was interested in laser hair removal, Botox and chemical peels. The lady was very nice and explained all the procedures and took some picture of my face to show the sun damage and hyper pigmentation on my face. Said I am NOT a candidate because I scar easily and could scar from the laser hair removal procedure. This is my 4th consult at various reputable places and the first I've ever heard of this. She then talked about Botox, how much I could possibly need and the cost. Then moved on to the chemical peel prices and different kinds. It was at this time she hit me with what she SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME OUT THE GATE: the beds have weight limits and I cannot get the procedures done anyways. I'm overweight but in all my years of getting things done in settings similar to this, never has that ever been an issue. I'm thinking if you're such an established business first off your tables can hold anyone. If they don't then you get one that can. I know people can be sensitive and I'm not really but what I am sensitive with is my time. If she knew this she could have told me at first. Not told me I can't get laser because of my skin, quote me on Botox and chemical peels to just say "oh. But we can't do them." WASTE OF MY TIME. Also, the receptionists were warm calling clients telling them about a sale. The whole office reeks of sales, selling and up-selling. I'm not a fan of that environment at all. This was such an amazing experience , everyone made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I was really nervous since this was my first time. They kept making sure I was okay and even after hours checked on me. I had minimal swelling and no bruising. The staff is so kind and professional yet they make you feel right at home. I hated going to this advanced laser clinic. I couldn't wait for my final session just so I didn't have to go there anymore. The two women working at the front desk are very unpleasant and rude. Last time I walked in and asked a question, I received a very rude reply from one of the women that sounded as if she had an attitude with me or as if I was bothering her or something. The two women are obnoxious, loud, and just rude. Each time I would walk in I would have to stand there until they got off the phone or until they finished their conversation before I was greeted. It was a horrible experience overall and very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It took me over a year just to finish 6 laser sessions. I now go to a much better advanced laser clinic with a friendly and helpful staff. read more

I have been going here for my eyebrows and skin treatments with Niki for a couple years. I absolutely adore the staff. They are warm, welcoming, funny as hell, and really nice people. I cannot say enough about Niki. I would not even consider going anywhere else and look forward to my appointments with her and seeing the other gals. They also have awesome open house events. If you want to obtain good results, dont come here. I went there for two years as a guarantee and they would always cancel my appiontments last minute, even though i had already gotten the day off of work. This one time, i accidentally went in a week late thinking my appt. was that day and they were quick to charge me $50!!!! and to top it off, i didnt get good results. The nurses have a time limit, and they do it so quick. they dont care about about taking their time to make sure you get the best results. I have been going to Advance Laser for a few years and with Gwen's guidance and patience with me always asking questions. I now have skin that women stop me and ask me what do I do to have such beautiful skin. I always tell them I go to Advance and speak to Gwen. I do IPLs and Jean, who operates the laser, is the kindest and caring person. She always takes the time to explain and truly cares about your comfort. She is a sweetheart. I haven't had a bad experience with anyone at Advance. Anne and Gwen are the faces that usually greet you ,both are the best. Jessica is somewhat new but another pretty and caring person to greet us. This place is absolutely terrible. I went a few years ago for laser on my face. At the time, my hair was blonde (peach fuzz) and my skin, olive. From my research NOW, I know that my hair & skin combo did not make me a good candidate for laser, but of course they didn't tell me that. 10 treatments and thousands of dollars later, my hair kept returning and turned black and coarse (likely from shaving and whatever they did that didn't work). In addition, they lost my file twice, which led to sessions where my face was burnt and welted for a couple of days. I was infuriated. Today, I am STILL trying to clean up the mess they created on my face. I have done threading, electrolysis, waxing and am braving going back to laser (NOT HERE!!!!) If you are looking to laser your face, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. They either do not know what they are doing or are scamming customers who are not suitable candidates for the type of laser they use. Either way, do not waste your time or money. And if your hair is light/same color as your skin, laser won't work for you! So don't even do it!!! Very disappointed & frustrated. read more

From the moment I called I received such a wonderful experience. For starters I knew very little about hair removal..ect , I felt very welcomed, i was educated and over all directed in the right area..and that was just the initial phone call. Im not from Modesto I kind of got a little lost...they stayed on the phone with me till about a mile away from their office location. As soon as I walk in ...the environment, so homey and cozy..the smiles I received and they called me by name! That was such a great feeling. I'm leaving what should've been an A+ review for ALC but what happened to this center? I rarely leave reviews but taking the time to do this one because well it needed to be done. I came to the board to see if it was just me and well after reading a few reviews I wanted to add to it. Maybe the owner can find out why they're loyal long time customers are walking away because if I was the owner I would want to know why and I'd start at the reception desk. Look, I want to be fair with my review so will touch on a few points so apologize for the long read but I want to be up front, honest and fair because I've been going to ALC for well over 5 years monthly. Someone told me they're closing but I've yet to confirm that. To fill you in my services have been mainly microdermabrasion and botox. Let me add real quick that I did have laser treatment on my upper lip and chin (approx 8+ years ago) but it didn't work for me despite using their sprays, added maintenance program etc. I was pretty satisfied with my services at the beginning despite that the laser didn't work. At the time the staff was kind and friendly and prices were right. But lately I've really taken by the staff's unprofessional demeanor toward me. There have been staff changes here and there when I first started which is normal nothing too noticeable until this past year or two and this is where it all begins. I started commenting on the very noticeable staff turnover and hike in pricing. I've seen staff come and go over the years but nothing like recent times. I started getting concerned and started commenting when I received a good service or not so good service and well they weren't liking it. I'd walk in and there would be yet another new professional doing my botox. Let's face it each professional thinks they know what's best for you hence you potentially get scattered results when turnover is high. Some botox professionals would bruise me horribly despite their level of experience and well I got tired of feeling like ALC wasn't taking care when it came to their clients. To be honest I hate needles and you can get a great micro then a not so great micro. When you pay for these services you want to know you're seeing that same cheerful face you saw last time and felt comfortable with. I do find it to be a bit odd that they're losing their micro and botox staff but never their front office staff. I come from a sales and marketing background so I understand there's going to be turnover however when it becomes as frequent as it's been at this center you need to start looking as to why this is happening. I started voicing my concerns over the past year if I received a good micro or hey the girl really bruised me giving me botox. The staff would comment that they were equally frustrated but I think at this time they might be a little more frustrated and rubbing it off on their clients because the way that I've personally been treated over these past several months is not like ALC and it's unacceptable. We ALC clients want someone who is going to care not only about us but about the overall business it goes hand in hand. I was naturally becoming apprehensive as their turnover was becoming frequent as I wondering who was going to be injecting me next. YIKES! Not a good feeling folks. But it was like some of the staff (not all) took it really personal which makes me think this is happening more often than not lately when they should be going out of their way trying to make ALC clients feel more at ease. Instead they started not returning my phone calls for an appt and most recently hanging up on me because if you didn't know this they can see who's calling and frankly I think they're deliberately hanging up on me or it goes right into voicemail. So unprofessional and tasteless. This is not good business practice ladies nor is it pleasant especially since I was a loyal customer traveling from Los Banos monthly for years. I also want to comment on the person regarding the posting of "fake" anonymous reviews vs real reviews and it's obvious these were written to counter the negative. To the owner: when you see this happening to increase your business ratings you know change is needed.
